  8. Hey ppls. Well, the time has come for the first annual SAU VIC Gala Dinner and Awards night. Saturday October 1st will be the night, and the venue will be in South Melbourne at a great new venue which would be perfectly suited to a car club. It's a place called GM Automotive and houses some pretty nice cars, and possibly even a Skyline or two on the night. At the moment the committee is woking out the best package with consideration to quality, price and the number of people who are interested. Please show your interest by voting in the poll with your preferred price range. And remember Gentleman JIM RICHARDS will be in attendance and giving a bit of a speach on the Skylines in Touring Car Racing back when Technology was embraced by Australian Racing fans!! Thanks, From the Committee.
  9. Hey ppls. After a successful group buy a while ago, I would like to offer the air guides again for a group buy. I make them from CNC routed air craft grade 1.0mm aluminum sheet. Price will be slightly higher this time due to the rediculous rise in steel prices over the last 12 months. See the attached picture for the guides. Price will be $80 each, plus freight. I must send via TNT specialise frieght so that they don't get bent in transport, so budget for about $25 for freight. If you are interested you must tell me what sort of front bar you have, as there are three different guides, one for standard bar, one for Nismo Sports front bar and one for aftermarket front bars. Please note that the guide on some aftermarket front bars may have to be slightly modified to suit. So, Who's interested? I will start the group buy when we have 10 people and end it when the 10 ppl have paid. 1. Pear....................Standard Bar...............Paid 2. Wogboy...............Nismo Sports................Paid 3. Mad34.................Standard Bar................Paid 4. Nightcrawler..........Standard Bar..............Paid 5. 10. It's a chamber which reduces the amount of intake noise generated. Simple physics, change the volumn of air and you change the resonate frequency. A common thing that WRX owners do is affentionatly known as a "Resonatorectomy". They remove a big resonator from the front bumper area and replace it with an air intake.
  11. my car is doing about 3000 rpm at 112kph therefore. 6000 = 224, 7000 = 224 + 37 = 261kph
  12. Tap and it screw a bolt into it. It's a pressure port for a boost signal.
  13. Anyone who is telling you that you have to pull the engine out is trying to rip you off. Go to one of the more reputable workshops in Melbourne.
  14. Cutting back the fins can be a remedy for a couple of things, not sure what, but definently not for high flowing. High Flowing includes replacng the wheels, and the bearing pack and machining out the housings, giving you the ability to produce more boost, because the wheels are bigger. That's the simple answer.
  15. It's not so much a boost thing as it is a heat thing. You can run 1 bar on a stock turbo and stock management and not have too many problems. The Computer will just do the rich and retard thing and the fuel cools everything. Then you can run 12 psi and lean out the mixtures with a PFC or similar, and the exhaust wheel will go on a little journey. It mainly happens when on boost for extended periods, say at the track when heat builds up and causes the ceraminc wheel to delaminate from the shaft. BASS OUT
  16. Take it to an engineering workshop. They'll get it out in minutes. You can drill through the guts of the stud, this releases some pressure on the thread, might help.
  17. What is a standard RB25DET core called?
  18. I've pulled apart my RB25DET turbo this arvo, and tomorrow I'm going to try to fit a VG30ET turbine housing to it. It has a different dump pipe flange, but it's possible that a custom dump could be made to suit. Not sure yet, but hey, it wouldn't hurt to try. Not even sure that it will fit onto centre bit, but just thought I'd play.
  19. Not before I get my hands on them!! Dammit, if you find them first, I think I'll kill myself!!
  20. Lots of pics please!!!!! I want to be able accuratly identify these turbos I've found overseas. Thanks mate.
  21. was he right? looks like it
