  1. Shan. I'll have a set for my R34. How much?
  2. Generally Anti Lag is only referred to in racing circles, where it's not really used during gear changes, its more used when you are off the throttle for the braking up to a corner. This can be for several seconds. The antilag keeps the turbo spinning using fuel injected into the exhaust manifold so that when you get back on the throttle, you have full boost. It's not really that good for any part of your turbo system. This type of system is only used on race cars. The launch control style of Antilag involves a 0 kph speed limiter also to allow the drive to hold full throttle and the timing is retarded to increase boost. This system is turned off as soon as 1kph is registered.
  3. Anti Lag... Basically a fuel injector and spark plug in the exhaust manifold so that when you come off the throttle, the fuel injector and spark plug go to work and continue to push air through the exhaust housing of the turbo, keeping it at full speed. You hear Rally cars popping as they come into corners off the throttle, that's what it is.
  4. You can get them cheap from a Holden Wrecker. Not exactly a Nissan one, but they aren't much different. Fitted to all towing cars and all Series II VS commodores and Calais to run them out at the end of the model.
  5. Hi Angry. Where did you get the VG30DET turbo? Is it in good nick? Have a look at the High Flow GCG Hybrid thread, lots of pics of VG30 Turbos in there. Cheers Pete
  6. Yep, more people out on the turps and more of Brisbys full throttle launches on the short track!
  7. Yep, I plan to be the first owner of the next GTR in Australia. And I'm serious. The finance on my current car runs out around the time that the new one is due out.
  8. Nope, stock sway bars. Only happened when the shocks were modified.
  9. My problem was that with the standard circlip groove on the Koni's and King springs, the front was too low and the rear too high. So, I bought and installed the Whiteline springs, and still, too low at the front and too high at the rear. So then we machined new grooves (the Koni dealer in Vermont) in both front and rear shocks and refitted. So the fronts were higher, there fore pre load on the springs, and the rear was lower, so no preload on the springs. the heights though, are spot on. 345 front and 350 odd at the rear. The squeeking sounds to be soming through the top of the shock, but that could just be the tranmitting of the sound through the steel..... Stoopid cars.
  10. Mine squeek during low speed in and out of driveways and that sort of thing. When the car's off the ground, you can wiggle the springs with your hands, but not when on teh ground.
  11. Yeah, I added the extra circlip groove, the height is right, but now the back end squeeks like a pig! I think the rear springs are just out of their preload length. I have been meaning to put some rubber in there somewhere but have never got around to it.
  12. I wonder how to do that one. Wouldn't you have to lilke remove the whole engine or gearbox to get to the firewall down there???? I've already cancelled my group buy into Master Cylinder braces, because some dude on E-bay is already getting them made in China for like $49.95 plus freight. Can't compete with that!
  13. Hey ppls. Well, I've had it lying around for ages and never had it fitted, BUT I just fitted it then. I haven't driven on it, but when installing it, I noticed the amount of master cylinder movement was huge! Is would have easily moved 3 - 4 mm when the pedal was pumped. Now it doesn't move at all. The pedal is much much firmer now too. Will report back with driving results tomorrow. BASS OUT
  14. There's also a place in Ormond called "The Steak Bank" That's all that's on the menu. You can buy a 1kg New York Porterhouse. It's fuggin massive!
  15. Do you know if you are able to source just the computer unit, as I have a PowerFC boost control kit and I want to have control over boost by gear. Also, will it fit? Cheers Pete
  16. Ahhh. Fair enough. Thanks.
  17. What would be the most livable spring rate for an R34 GTT which see 20,000 kilometers of every day driving per year, the occasional track day? I have Whiteline coils in now, and I'm looking at a set of D2 Coil Overs. The spring rate that I have now is okay for me. Thanks Pete
  18. What do you call a Lada on top of a hill James?

Speed Technology in Mitcham 9873 5400 Talk to Steve. Tell him you know "Doorifto Boy" They do all the work on my car.
  20. Bullant. You mentioned the GCG may bring back the 500 hp turbo, but woulld have to address the size of the wastegate in order to make it commercially viable. Did they offer to enlarge your wastegate? I once spoke to them about highflowing my turbo and I asked if they could make it bigger, and they said no problems. Just a thought. Any further reflections on how the turbo performs? Have you done the 2nd gear from walking pace test? When does she begin to boost? BASS OUT (Still searching for a VG30DET Exhaust housing)
  21. R34 should take nicely to any mods. Talk to Snowman, he has an R34 GTR with 2530s making 320 rwkW at wastegate pressure. So theres most likely heaps more in it. I don't beleive he has cams or any engine work either.
  22. They are much different. They are designed to run off 1.5 litres (half the V6) so are much smaller. Like the RB26DETT turbos are much smaller than the RB25DET turbo.
