'jun Style' Copy Intake Plenum For Rb25
Bass Junky replied to jonnob55's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
GTTR34 (Matt) has one on his R34 GTT I believe. -
did you know that Defi do a 5 inch Boost Pressure guage

Power Porting The Standard Manifold
Bass Junky replied to ZILR-34's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ash, that's exactly why we are 50/50 on the porting. If the restriction is in the turbo housing itself, then opening up the exhaust manifold isn't going to make much difference, however if I was running a monster turbo, then the more flow I can get through the standard exhaust manifold, they better. -
Power Porting The Standard Manifold

Just spoke to Andrew at SPP. They have recently done some good stuff with BA Falcons and Evos, big spool increases etc. More heat rejection into the gas flow as opposed to the manifold itself. I've got a manifold here which was donated to this exact cause recently. If somebody is keen on doing it, I'd be more than happy to donate this manifold to the cause, as it was given to me for that express purpose. When I spoke to my tuner, he wasn't convinced on the idea. On the other hand, I've spoken to a guy who had an Apexi RBFKJHSF(U345y whatever they are turbo which hit a brick wall at about 250 rwkw. They couldn't tune past it no matter what they did, so they whacked a pressure gauge on the exhaust manifold itself and there was HUGE back pressure, so they changed exhaust manifolds to a tubular design and picked up a shed load of power. So there are two sides to the story, but I think it may come down to the turbo and the relative restriction it poses. Maybe if somebody like myself fitted one, I might not pick up power up top because the restriction is in the turbo in my case, and only up high, but I might spool faster, or pick up more grunt through the middle. Maybe there wont be any change at all. Unfortunately $660 is too much for my to spend on a 'what if'. I already spent $600 a few years ago on the 'what if' of the adjustable exhaust cam gear on an R34....... BASS OUT Who wants to sponsor me? $50 per person, I supply the manifold, I'll supply the fitting and dyno time...... -
The VG30 compressor side is inferior to the RB25. Hence why nobody has done it.

I rev mine to 7800 rpm, it starts to run out of puff by then anyway. I do however run a set of cams. Standard bottom end. Maybe with that turbo you might try dropping in a set of sticks, make the power a bit earlier and not have to rev so hard. 308 rwkw might be leaning on the bottom end a bit, but R34s do run GTR rods, so maybe not as much as we think.

Hi Brocky..... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=185488 Can you chop them onto my car? thanks!

Oh, and PS..... Your solenoid isn't grounded if your boost is jumping like that at 4k

The fuel could be a lot neater and actually should be turned upside down. Leaner earlier on and then level out at about 12:1. Either the tuner is pulling fuel up top to hang onto a little bit of power, or you are running out of fuel pump. The tuner is tipping in a LOT of fuel as it ramps up, looks like he's VERY scared of pinging here. He doesn't need to be that conservative. Could pick up some fuel economy and some more torque down low from pulling lots of fuel here. But timing is what makes power, not fuel. Pull as much fuel out as you can get away with, and wind in as much timing as you can get away with. But with the fuel in this tune leaning out up top, I'd address this first.

Power Porting The Standard Manifold
Bass Junky replied to ZILR-34's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Do you think that Andrew would have results from the fitting of that manifold to a standard engine/turbo car? I was speaking with a Gentlemen who told me that the restriction in the exhaust is not the manifold itself, but the A/R of the turbo..... What turbo are you running? -

Go Direct to a power porter, not to UAS. Howe Automotive - Bacchus March 03 5348 2389 C.O.M.E - Melbourne 03 9571 9605 Blue Chip Tuning - Melbourne 03 931 09822 A.T.S - Melbourne 03 9335 1254 Racecraft - Melbourne 03 9338 0550 Motivator Race Engines - Bendigo 03 5443 3883 Try that. -
Yeah, until you have used MicroFibre for drying, you don't know what you are missing. Chamois FTL

R34 Parts, Clean Out

Coils SOLD -
Hi Rekin, MicroFibre mitt SHOULD be wet when washing the car. Should also be rinsed after washing the panel, some people do it in a separate bucket. I just take my car to Damian and let him do it

Repeat, DONT need FPR. put the cams in. Awesome midrange increases. Good top end increase too, depending on how stressed your turbo is. Make more power, on less boost. Allows your engine to spin harder too. Win + Win + Win

It's a drop in replacement.

R34 Rb25det Neo Vs. R33 Series 2 Rb25det
Bass Junky replied to pricer-1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Neo is totally different head to Series II R33. Solid lifters, different cams, GTR rods, slightly different VCT. Head is NOT interchangeable. -
Hey guys, Well, I just pulled apart my intake bits around the turbo to fit my super cool silicone inlet pipe, and whilst doing this I have noticed that the compressor housing can be rotated with very little effort on the bearing cartridge. This is the first time I've had any of this area apart since the turbo has been installed, and I've been having a little trouble holding boost up the top, according to my dyno chrat. A) Is there a way to tighen the bugger up without removing the turbo? (doesn't look like there is) B) Has this happened to anyone else, the housing working loose that is? C) you do you think this might be the reason it's not holding boost? (only dropping off and a little bit wavy, but this might also me from back pressure in the exhaust turbine.... Thoughts? BASS OUT

soo many numbers and letters and names and wheels. My brain hurts.

Robo. Is this is still available. ?

SAUVic Committee are working on some new ideas. Stay tuned. But come along to the meetings. Coffee FTW

Somebody asked about the VG30 hybrid ( or R34 GTT) high flow turbo from GCG. I make a comfortable 250rwkw from mine on the RacePace (read conservative) dyno. Poncams and all supporting hardware fueling. The best thing is that it has about 100kph of power and boost. Makes more than 240 rwkw from between 165kph and 210 kph. That's what you call FAT PS. More to come from that setup too, marginal top end gains now that my fuel supply probs are sorted. Benno tells me that there is very little in it though as the engine is Choked by the exhaust housing. Looks like the back pressure in the exhaust manifold is just pushing the wastgate open and we can't keep stable boost over about 5000rpm. Discuss.

Yeah, they look a bit Gaudy I think. Beautiful wheels, and they look awesome on their own, but not really on my car I don't think The search continues.
