    Defect

If that's your engine bay in your avatar, I'd say you have a fair job ahead of you.
  2. I too remember those days. Even awards for loudest exhaust and the like - you couldn't do thattoday, the car would never make it home. Even then, one year the Monaro club was invited to do a display.
  3. Yep, pretty much anything that will increase percormance wil alter emissions. Many things CAN be engineered, but it is a very costly exercise, as the testing cost big bickies each time - pass or fail. My advice is if you want to own a modified car - keep everything you need to return it to stock if defected, drive it in a way that doesn't attract attention and don't have it as your daily driver.
  4. Some of the Munromobiles may be interested in re-gracing magazine pages in their current forms if you were to contact him. They may not too, this is merely my own thoughts and these thoughts are not endorsed by the cars owner or their representatives.
  5. Buy cheap, pay twice. By the time you install and tune the SAFC it will probably be as much as the PFC just to buy, so if you can afford that, buy it now and wait until you can afford to have it tuned IMO.
  6. In some cases this can be worse than no insurance. If the insurance is in his name, you have to be able to prove that you drive the car less than 50% of the time, or you could end up being charged with insurance fraud if you try to make a claim flasely. Insurance is expensive due to the perceived risk by the insurance company.
  7. Just to clarify on the write off thing - here's the info from the source. Here's what determines it to be a statutory write off: Links: http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/registratio...ed_vehicles.asp http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/pdfs/registration/023.pdf

    Sau Dinner

Is early December good for you, don't you have a work show on one night then? Probably see you there if you're going.
  9. Sounds like it might be redgtst's car - I think he was from out that way.
  10. That machine of yours is certainly coming along nicely there Sam. Would feel a LOT more punchy with those extra kW now.
  11. You already know what I think. Catch you some time this week.
  12. Beer Garden are ok. You may or may not have noticed HEAPS of venues constructing outdoor places where people can drink and smoke in the last few months - well I have anyway.

I'd be pretty sure Nightcrawler won't be there tonight - It's a BOY!
  14. You're sure right about that.
  15. I'll probably come for a sticky beak and a snag.
  16. Laboratory Manager for an insulating oil test lab. Be a bit careful Lee - they DO monitor email usage, and I did get a warning in the past for "excessive non business use".
  17. Some info about seats and belts: So, seats are ok if they are ADR compliant and they say so, and harnesses MIGHT be ok if they apply to the relevant ADR, and they say so. What a surprise in SA.
  18. Ok, now I know who you are. I hate to sound like an "e-groupie" but guys, don't doubt the skills.
  19. Unfortunately you're pretty much sh1t out of luck. The way you will want to have it to drive it on the street it WON'T be legal anyway. Any exhaust you will need to make any kind of power out of the thing won't pass drive by noise regs. Any aftermarket programmable management is not legal, as it can be adjusted as soon as you leave from the testing. Spending money on trying to engineer it would better be saved for putting it back to stock if it ever gets defected. I hate to sound like a wet blanket, but a truly legal modified car is pretty much a pipe dream.
  20. Ok, worked out who you are. Missed the whole car change thing from the GTS4. I'm ex KMIF if you don't remember who I am.
  21. Is this the head off your first 30DET sky30? Also interested in the VCT question.
  22. Oxygen sensor is often the culprit. Does it have the stock ECU?
  23. Hey Shaun, did your brother get married last weekend?
  24. Nice board. They look awesome and lots of silent pipey goodness. Not sure I could justify those sort of beans for a motherboard though. I don't think I'm hard core enough to use the extra features.
  25. Yeah, I held off on paypal for a fair while too, now I love it. Best method ever.
