  1. The number plate will be the biggest problem for that car at Mallala.
  2. Not a bad thing IMO Don't like their methods however. It's a thankless job I wouldn't do, and people should remember that if we piss off all the people that WILL, then no-one will be left to do it.

    Tyres

The Z1 apparently SH1T all over the V1s - they won some tyre test for the price/performance category. I've had the V1s, and they're ok but not fantastic, but my car is a little heavier than a skyline. On the Wanlis - I've only heard bad things about them in the wet, apparently great in the dry though. I've also had the K104s (again heavier than a skyline) and they were ok too. Both the Maxxis and the Hankooks wore quite well.
  4. My info is from the 11/2004 version of the document - there may be a more current version but I can't find one. The info you got agrees with the info in the document for R34 GTRs, and the info he gave you on R32s and R33s seems to be for non turbo models. I've attached a copy here for all to see.
  5. I'd say eat a c)ck, but I'm pretty sure that's what made you sick in the first place. Was a good day. Lots of "visual stimulation".
  6. Min legal eyebrow height for R32 and R33 turbo models is 360 mm from centre of wheel to guard (in SA). Almost every skyline on the road would be too low - that is really quite high. Looking at yours I'd say it would be under that.
  7. Wow, I can't believe it got through with wheel spacers - it really was your lucky day. Sounds like your plans are for a nice tough real streetable GTR.
  8. Back in the day they were THE place to go for an RE build. As others have said, I've not really heard of them with respect to skyline work.
  9. In all honesty I think you'd be pretty crazy to buy a GTR if you didn't have at least $25k to spend on one all told. This way you buy one for the $18k and can do all that needs doing, or you can buy one that someone's ironed all the bugs out of already. As the guys have said, they certainly love to chew cash. Ask the guys with modified GTRs what sort of cash they've spent and usually the answer will be something along the lines of "too much" or "I'd rather not add it up".
  10. Careful, you might get in trouble saying things like that!!!
  11. Hey, that's Stu's brother's old car! Is it still as tidy as always?
  12. Grrrr, same day as the poker finals - so hopefully I won't make it to Schutzenfest!
  13. If horsepower is the question, then TTV8 is rarely a bad answer. Wish I could understand the commentary.
  14. Freeway is fun some days isn't it!
  15. That will sure change a few things, nice for racing. I can hear the complaints about the disruption of the city already.
  16. "legal" in NSW and registerable in SA are two completely different things. We don't do mod plates here for a start, and an engineer's certificate still doesn't stop a police officer for defecting the vehicle for suspicion of non compliance. You have next to no chance of getting that registered and keeping it on the road here, sorry.
  17. I was also told this, but it is for CAST flywheels - I'm unsure of the RB flywheel's construction. They still go bang. Pics in this thread
  18. No, get one appropriate for what you are trying to achieve. The smallest possible intercooler that will do the job is what you're looking for - less volume to fill = better response, and the least possible impedence to airflow through the rest of the cooling system is a plus.
  19. 20c, 30c, I remember when it was FREE for full time students. I can't complain about the costs of getting to work, it's 44km and costs me not one cent - company car and undercover parking provided.
  20. You could have said "Give me your address and I'll come over after you finish work". I agree though, meeting somewhere other than where the car is regularly parked is a good idea.

    Defect

I see in another thread your car has made 280 rwkw, so it's an aftermarket turbo I gather. That will have to come off anyway. As I said before, pretty big job by the looks of your engine bay - it will need to be reasonably stock.
  22. Why change it at all - if it doesn't have GTR badges, then I think the stock 32GTR is about the best look for a 32 there is.
  23. Can you prove your whereabouts at the day and time in question? That would be a great start if you can prove you weren't driving.
  24. My Focus is quite a nice daily, you'll be pretty happy with it overall I'd say. He was a bit of a nasty one, but I'm glad you took the money in the end. $35,500 now is better than getting no bites for another 6 months, and having to take $35k in the end anyway. Happens a lot when selling modified cars unfortunately. All the best with the next set of wheels mate.
