  1. Guys, I took my car for a drive down to the shops @10mins and the car was just getting to tempature. After comin home i noticed that the crossover intercooler pipe was rather hot? Now i dont remember it ever getting so hot before even after a 1 hour drive or so, so is this normal or could there be something amiss? The car is around 250rwkw and wasnt so boosted much when driving for that 10min drive? Regards, Darren
  2. Guys, About to reinstall the coil cover (been off for years) after i paint it but the rubber seal that goes arounf its edge is all deteriated and breaking up. When in Melbourne would one look for a replacement seal? Regards, Darren
  3. Georgesr34, I have a soilid intake & Stao originally gave me the 15psi actuator, When i started to get the tune the coils started (1 of) to breakdown so The tuner had to stop, Since then & with conversations with Stao I decided to chage over the 15psi actuator to the 20psi one as I was going to use my DSBC to have a low (15) & high (20) setting> But upon much searching I now just want a high setting and use my foot as the boost controller, hence this original thread asking if 20psi would be ok for the motor. Purley a street car (wont be driven on the track) and being a daily I cant afford to have it off the road so wont go crazy and may only accasionlly see full bosst anyway so I though it may be ok? But as allways guys thanks heaps for all your input & feedback Dazza
  4. Scotty, I dont any long quirts only the odd up to the limit and accasional overtake. But since its my daily it rarley gets the full boost so I dont think that will be a problem, I have the 650 injectors but dont plan on a E85 tune in the near furure. I am runnnig @ 230 rwkw on say 14-15 psi presently and hopefully when i get the tune finished with the 20psi actuator on friday i hope this will be the end of it, maybe 250 to 280 (for a while at least, lol) Dazza
  5. good call yes.. but I am a little concerned with mixed responses about what a stock motor can handle.. I was using the 15psi actuator until coil failures waiting on a tune but talking with Stao i advised that i wanted 18-20psi (using a DSBC) and he advised the motor may not handle it , then in the next sentence advised to get the 20psi actuator So ai guess you will see why I am a little confused hence the question.. Dazza
  6. whos running a stock motor with a hypergear turbo & what boost & powere your making? Regards, Dazza
  7. so United sell e10 100 octane...might have to check that out and put 1/2 tank in when empty to see if there is a diference between that & vortex.. Thanks for the input guys, would love to do e85 but there isnt much around and cant afford more injectors presently but but the e10 may helpp a bit.... How does it vary in price to the 2 premuim brands & what the economy like guys? Regards, Dazza
  8. I have a question regarding E10 fuel. Now i know that its a blend of unleaded + %10 ethonal and is a lower Octane rating , but i have been searching on the net and discovered the following at "Freedom Fuels" which actually has 3 diferent types of E10... E10 Unleaded (91) http://www.freedomfuels.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=15&Itemid=20 E10 Premium (95) http://www.freedomfuels.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=16&Itemid=20 E10 Hi Octane (98) http://www.freedomfuels.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=17&Itemid=20 So my question is that would it be ok to use the E10 Hi Octane as its equivelent to 98 proof premium unleaded? Regards, Darren..

  13. Yes, ATR43SSPU. Just picked up the 20PSI actuator off Stao today and my coilpack & plugs arrived as well ,Just need to install them then get the tune redone. I will do away with the Dual Stage Boost Controller alltogether now and use my right foot as the boost controller... (Really should of saved the cash & done this from the start, but hey I have now learned...) Dazza
  14. Dont have a dyno printout yet but 232rwkw on 14-15psi before coils started to breakdown. (this will give you some idea of potential of the PU) when new coils & plugs inserted will get retune to fix boost up to 19-20psi and will post up dyno Regards, Dazza
  15. more fun with other cars around to see what mods are had and power levels attaned , Also a lot cheaper I recall the last one i went to was in knoxfield and was around 45-50 dollars for SAU member. Mind you that it was just a power run and not a diagnosis as per chequered tuning.... I am wanting to see what my mods are performing like & to compare the tunes dyno ...to be sure , to be sure etc Dazza
