  1. There are circumstances where police and certainly emergency (fire, ambulance etc) vehicles can "break" the road rules. In the case of the emergency vehicles, running red lights and weaving between traffic is necessary to save lives by avoiding delays. Cops will need to "speed" and weave through traffic to chase criminals. They are not going to say "oh well, the limit is 60km but the bank robber is getting away at 90km so we can't get him". Of course there are cases when cops break the rules without justification.
  2. The characteristics of the test mule - i.e. aerodynamics do count though, you must admit.
  3. I've heard the GTR cluster doesn't fit (i.e. interface) non-GTRs.
  4. I would drop an RB25DET into the R32 GTST
  5. I think dropping a CA20E into a GTR would be pretty offensive! But seriously. You think that the RB26DETT is inferior because it has smaller displacement and a torque hole? LOL. The GTR was developed to win Group A races, and 2.6L would be the maximum displacement for the class (with forced induction). The HSV had no similar design restrictions.
  6. So are you going to be doing any weight reduction?
  7. Sounds like you should be driving an AE86. :Pimp2:
  8. Lol all you R31 freaks! The R32 GTST is good value and very affordable and cheap enough to maintain. Expect to pay between $9000-$12000. Power comparable to a 180SX. More usable interior space for passengers.
  9. There's a couple for sale on nissansilvia.com Try another state definitely. QLD has quite a few cheap 89 GTRs going around so you get a lot to choose from.
  10. What about the Maxima? VG30DE goodness.
  11. I just checked the DOTARS web site, nobody can comply any sort of Landcruiser under SEVS.
  12. Same principle, different parts. It is generally a big pain in the bum to convert a GTS to a GTST. Converting a GTS4 to turbo would be equally if not more painful.
  13. Yes please give me more! You are a fool. You know damn well what I meant was that until the Golf R32, the only thing that would show up on a search for "R32" on the web would be an R32 Skyline.
  14. The HSV would beat me. I have a stock R32 GTR. At the lights the HSV has more torque down low, and I'm not game to fry my clutch with a clutch dump, and dragging over the speed limit is a bad idea - where the RB26DETT shines is at the mid-range and top end.
  15. Why did they call it the R32 anyway? Of all the letter and number combinations, they had to pick one that is identical to a Skyline? Probably did it so when people search for R32 on the web, instead of seeing Skylines they see Golfs.
  16. Yeah the autos go for less. Ironically when cars are brand new the auto costs more. But then people looking to import go "Auto? Pfft!". How much is a manual conversion for an R34 GTT by the way? (No I don't need to search because I'm not that interested, just a casual Q)
  17. So Group A and N1 turbos aren't the same thing?
  18. Come on, everyone knows you take a big hit in depreciation as soon as you sign on the dotted line. It's a new car thing. Get over it.
  19. It is too thin. Nissan recommends AT LEAST 5w-30 for the RB26. Thicker for racing applications and worn engines.
