  1. I agree with Nismoid that if I was looking for a car right now, its very hard to go past the EVO 9. They are pretty damn impressive. But the 9 is a different kettle of fish to the evo 6.
  2. 240awkw out of a GTR is just a matter of 1 bar boost, computer and exhaust. Maybe $3K and you lose none of the bottom end. Sure its a bit doughy under 3,000 rpm but its not enough to warrant your above post. You can also reduce the unsrung weight of GTR by using light weight alloy wheels just as you have done. It sounds like your saying just because GTR's carry a bit of extra weight people shouldn't waste time with them unless they are going to stroke the engine? I maybe wrong but can not make out much else from your post. I love so many different makes, models of various cars of all ages so I am not just GTR biased.
  3. Thats pretty lousy of the other bloke. Was his car still driveable? What age category did the other driver fall into? If he is a member of a club his club should encourage him to assist you with the repairs, or ban him for being so inconsiderate. Hope you you get this sorted.
  4. If its not scratched or broken I'll take it. Please send me a pic to [email protected] or post up here. Thanks!
  5. Do you have the triple guage cluster surround (Just the black piece of plastic with the three holes cut out for the guage)? If so could you post a pic and price?
  6. Interesting car. Not interested in buying it but just curious, what did impul do to it?
  7. I am pretty sure they are threee piece. Tak ethem to a wheel specialist and the can rebuild them once painted. Mind you I have had two of my volks rebuilt and it was around $150 - $200 each time.
  8. What is a group a version and when / where were they sold?
  9. And the CES race pipes
  10. Did you end up opening the motor? What was the damage?
  11. I recognise that workshop. Although since moving to sydney in 1985 I don't recall ever seeing a car in that brilliant showcase on the front! Is that workshop still operational?
  12. Keep and use the original block whatever you do. Even if you mod it just make sure it looks standard. Inside no one could tell if its an HKS 2.8 stroker or a standard 2.6:) I'm all for modding but keeping standard appearance (aside from suspension, exhaust and wheels). Except for Bobs, which still looks like he took delivery from Nissan this morning so probably best let his car become the museum piece in the future!
  13. So did you hear anyhting back Terry? You looking to buy!!!
  14. That (25psi) sounds like pretty big boost for a standard engine so no surprises that it blew. From what you are saying I too would be sceptical of the rebuild and would purchase the car at a price allowing for another rebuild. A standard bottom end should handle 300-350kw.
  15. awesome avatar!

  16. vspec or not, it still looks like a nice car. Especially for the price and the spares your offering. No dash bubble, clean interior and engine bay. Definitely things that would make you take a closer look if your in the market for one. G/L with sale.
  17. Don't think its v-spec as it does not have brembos. Also all r32 gtr's had fins on the diff cover.
  18. Clock works!!! Looks very pristine and well cared for!
  19. I have a similar problem and have been told it is most likely the inlet manifold gaskets. Might try the electrical contact cleaner on the afm's. Do you need to remove the mesh screen first or can you spray through it?
  20. That kit is for one turbo though. There is a GTR kit, which I bought on ebay for $120 but I am not going to use it. Just stick with the standard. The fittings are crap and I am sure so are the line. Unless your going to buy proper lines and fitttings (earls etc), which get very costly, don't bother.
  21. There was some smoke coming out of the GTR from the begining, which didn't really look right. I can understand that but form the pics and highlights I saw the 2010 Bathurst 12 hour looked a lot more interesting with 41 entrants as opposed to the 26 this year (of which 11 were production). Obviously the GT cars discouraged many production entries. The GT cars were lapping the production cars within a few laps making them look like some second rate side show. Especially when the race was re-intorduced for production car racing.
  22. Don't think a used V-CAM will fetch $5K anymore. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HKS-V-Cam-RB26DETT-Skyline-GTR-BNR32-BCNR33-BNR34-Step1-/140407524694?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b0f0cd56 Still impressive to see a r32 for that price with V-CAM though.
  23. I was up there for the first hour and just as I was walking past the citigate when the mosler went off. A tyre let go coming down conrod. I really wish there was just production cars inthis race. I might have stayed longer.
  24. How much is half price?
  25. It sounds like a pretty good car. When I bought mine I noticed that a rear guard and a front guard had been resprayed earlier in its life. There are even jig marks on the front rails indicating that there was some earlier repairs. However it all appeared to be done properly panel gaps were perfect and it did / still does drive perfectly. So I snapped it up. In short these are very old cars now so chances are more than not are likely to have been involved in a prang at some point. But if repaired PROPERLY can continue to be perfect cars. I remember seeing a pic of former Zoom Magazine editor Julian Edgar's Aussie delivered 32 GTR with a fair bit of rear end damage but I am sure it got fixed properly (as it was the subject of a magazine article at the time)and moved on. http://autospeed.com/cms/A_0314/article.html
