  1. They are like Varstoens trying to look like TE37s.
  2. Thats the scientific translation to my version
  3. well I just popped into my garage to confirm this...unplugged it and my intelligent key/immobiliser would not work. Couldn't start the car. So I guess its only for those models who have the intelligent key ie: series 2 v35 and v36. Alkatraz - just unplug it and test my theory.
  4. I had the same question about 4 years ago...pretty sure its immobiliser related...unplug it and see what stops working. I remember unplugging it and something stopped working can't remember what now.
  5. would be cheaper to buy the Vossens though...Vossens and all the other brands are just replicas of the BBS above. Plenty on Ebay.
  6. I actually have the full set of 350z shocks and springs combo in my V. If you can find a decent set with low Kms, it would be a bang for buck mod. You shouldn't need any other suspension components for this mild drop, just a normal wheel alignment. Aftermarket coil overs are another option but will set you back more than $1K and majority will have higher spring rates which will compromise ride comfort.
  7. black coupe with black wheels on logan road this arvo around 11am...and then silver coupe in the south bank parklands carpark after that. Anyone on here?
  8. Theres a set on Import Monster 9.5 +15...white but..easily fixed...any spotters fee??
  9. Yup thats about right for those coupe 18s on stock suspension. drop in some 350z springs or suspension/lower it approx 30mm and it will be sweet. As for ppl running 9.5 +0 offset...with a bit of creativity anything can be achieved. Slammed suspension, -5 degrees camber, running stupid stretch tires + rolled fenders and you will be right. Your car would however look incredibly stupid IMHO not to mention you will be avoiding every road hump and rock on the road and running on only half your tires each side.
  10. are these the rays 19" V35 coupe wheels? if so they are definitely worth more than the coupe 18s..but again depends on who you are talking to and what its worth to them.
  11. Few questions: 1. which nissan rim do you have? pics? 2. the amount it sits outside the guard depends on the wheel width and offset. When you lower your car, it will generally produce some natural camber like this / \ The lower you go, the more negative camber you will produce. BUt yes, get it properly aligned first and then see how you go.Post pics if possible. I'm going to take a guess and say you are running factory coupe 18s, so the rears will probably be 8.5 +33.
  12. HKS make a good flux capacitor...I got mine replaced with this 2 years ago and never had a problem.
  13. That sticker on the windscreen...did it happen to be smack bang in the middle of the windscreen? If so then yes I completely agree with your mechanic it needed to be removed for RWC...I think your mechanic is a pretty switched on person. As for the bigger wheels ruining your engine..I kinda agree too. I would personally recommend for best overall performance...15x7 +49 all round. No guard rolling neccessary.
  14. www.importmonster.com.au plenty in stock to choose from at the moment.
  15. If you do a search on Ebay, there are plenty of RAYS wheel nuts going for around $60 plus postage...and there are ones that cost $250 all australian sellers too. so you have been warned...the fakes are out there. Hieumungus..the one you posted is definitely not genuine.
  16. Yea sorry I realised I forgot to take before pics. There are plenty on the website though. One of my wheels was severely guttered all round courtesy of maccas drive throughs...it came out brand new and color matched perfectly too.
  17. Cobey, If he's really ur mate, then he probably gave you the real ones..if my mate sold me fake ones and told me they were genuine I would punch him in the head.
  18. Glen, The wheel repairer is highly recommended! I told him to expect your call, just make sure you tell him the color of your wheel and give him a couple of days notice depending where you are. Click below: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/377081-alloy-wheel-doctor/
  19. Hi All, Seeing as there were previously enquiries about "where to get wheels fixed", I thought I would share my experience I had today with the Alloy Wheel Doctor. He specialises in repairing and restoring wheels for Mercedes, Audi and Porsche dealerships around Brisbane and being mobile and having him come to me instead of removing my wheels and sending it to a repairer, I thought I'd give him a try. Result: Perfectly restored and fixed all gutter rash on 4 of my AMG wheels today in sterling silver. I won't quote prices on here but they were much less than quoted by my usual wheel repairer shop. Took approx 2 hours for 4 wheels. He is based on the Sunshine Coast but will travel pretty much anywhere in Brisbane. http://www.alloydoctor.com.au/ Anyone interested just give Edwin a call and tell him you are from Skylines Australia. P/S: I am in no way affiliated with this business, just acknowledging a job well done!
  20. dude...I WAS the wheel whore until you came along...
  21. Camerons Bodyworks in Coopers Plains. I've used them before a few times and so have others. They deal with a lot of imports too, so give them a go. As for wheels, it would probably be easier and cheaper to get them repaired/refinished. I've got a mobile wheel repairer coming on Tuesday to fix a couple of my wheels on my Merc. If he's any good I'll pass you his number.
  22. Sorry Cobey, not trying to ruin your thread but the public needs to know there are plenty of fake ones currently in circulation that look identical...there is even a forum member selling these in the GB section and plenty on Ebay at similar prices. Check here: http://www.ontherunmotorsports.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=203:rays-beware-of-fake-rays-dura-nuts&catid=36:wheels&Itemid=70 I hope your mate is selling the genuine ones otherwise I would not touch cheap china replica nuts to hold on to my $4k wheels...
  23. Mark this on your calendars QLD'ers! The last SCC I went to in 2008 only had 4 x V35s amongst approx 100 other skylines in total..lets up that % this year! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/376079-20th-nov-scc/
  24. Another R to V upgrade here....had both in my garage at one stage too...Still have a soft spot for the R34s
