  1. Stirlo I did this myself as well (saving a bucket load of cash) and I had to trace the wires for about an hour. I'm still trying to get the central locking to work, but seeing as it only has an actuator on the passanger door - I can't see it working in the short term until I purchase one for the drivers door.... Did you manage to get around this? PM me and I'll run through the wires I used. DAN00H
  2. Stirlo, sounds like a bog stock factory deal, like mine. the thing on the side you are asking about is for fault diagnosis (you will find something written about it in the FAQ section from memory).
  3. Hi everyone, I've searched the archives, but unfortunatly came up empty handed. Can anyone identify the fuses in an R32 GTR? Cheers.
  4. Godzillr Also, did he get it inspected at the Dickson inspection station? I'm waiting on my cat to come before I can take my car for rego. Cheers
  5. Godzillr - what did he have to do to it? did it have a cat for the exhaust (factory system?) did it have child restraints in the back? When i spoke to them all they said was i needed 2 x 200mmx200mm plates (with a both through the centre) and the cat. if it passed a normal roadworthy, it would then be regoed. no engineers cert required.
  6. burgundy R32 GTST with DRIFTO plates crossing commonwealth ave bridge about 8:15am and gunmetal grey R32 GTST wit GTR wing at the lights (Melrose and Launceston) RJ1016 about 8:25am.
  7. I'd happly put my "sh*tbox" 89 up against any of the later GTR's to see how crap it is to yours. Fact is, aside from some wear on the steering wheel and the seat, you would not pick a difference. yes, it is in good mechanical condition with even compression across the cylinders. why can't we just admit there are good and bad of all ages....
  8. have a new job - so delayed rego on the R. will let you all know as soon as it goes over the pits and give a fiinal word on what needs doing (Guess i'll be the experimental animal!)
  9. as long as your car passes a roadworthy and has been complied before (with a plate), you shoudl not encounter too many issues. if you car is not lower than 100mm at it's lowest point, forget about changing springs. computer! - can't see any issues with that! go to Nissan and get a spring for the handbrake, if they don't have one, try one of the auto shops. it may be worth putting your car through 'as is' and taking the advice they give you - then getting things fixed. reinspection only costs $11.00..... if you have any further Q's, or need help PM me
  10. I'll see if I can dig it out tonight, or over the weekend. price from memory was in the $1500 - $2000 range. no, everything remains in place, it is configured to work with the existign hardwre.
  11. 1.factory intrusion bars arte pulled out and replaced during compliance. 2. none.
  12. try truck repairs & spares Fyshwick 62806198
  13. ah, ok. how are you going with your car? if all goes well, I'll have mine registered at the end of next week. if you need rubber, let me know.
  14. are you after 3in or 3.5 in? try a truck exhaust place - they will have them!
  15. you shoudl be able to source the gaskets from any shop (as long as they carry that size) - just tell them you took the exhaust off for 'x' reason and stuffed/lost the gasket if they ask!
  16. Stirlo, what sort of shop do you have? (PM me if need be) I'm doing the run around tomorrow getting bits for my car.
  17. where did you take it? pleanty of other places around! I'm getting mine done tomorrow.
  18. I'd like to see a stock R1 (gotta love em!) and a zorst, filters, boosted GTR run a couple of 'hot' laps on a circuit. I know where I'd put my money....
  19. true - but seeing as I have nothing but front pipes and a 3.5in system leading to a minimalist rear can, I'm happy to sacrifice a bit of flow. besides, can't get rego without one!
  20. I'll see if I can hunt down some pics. best thing about the kit is it doesn't require any body mods (chopping pillars/roof etc). Once I have mine done, I'll be posting a review.
  21. think carefully before importing - it involves a few extra processes than you will get told about. Do your homework and THEN make your decision. Best of luck with what ever you choose
  22. be intesting to see what you think of the 300V, I was contemplating it, but ended up going the redline. I'll write a report on the oil after a couple of weeks.
  23. BTW - they already have intrusion bars in them, it's just they often get changed....
  24. Hi Sterlo Will let you know the run down next week, as I'm getting the tyres and new cat tomorrow
