can't see why not! it does not face the front windscreen (issue for burst hoses) and does not protrude above the height of the bonnet.
-
yeah, I heard the ones on the Hume measure distance travelled vs time taken...

my limited knowledge on the r32 meters is that they don't have the same 'range' for tuning? I would imagine the NA version is the same?

Transmission Questions
DAN00H replied to huskerjoe's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have a solution for you - enabling you to keep the MANUAL transmission in the GTR In one onf my older magazines I read an article about a company that had developed a electronically operated clutch. The system utilised all the existing clutch hardware and compromised a button on the top of the shifter (to engage / disengage the clutch) and an electric motor connected to the clutch pedal via a small chain. The system worked by depressing the button atop the shifter, engaging the required gear, then releasing the button. The system could have the clutch action finetuned to suit driving styles (how quickly the clutch was released/engaged). By all accounts this system was a universal type kit, so I can't see why it could not be used on a GTR. The best thing about the kit, it kept the car original and could also be driven 'normally' via the clutch pedal. Do a search on google, PM me if you want me to have a look to see if I can find the article DAN00H -
Theo - sent you a pm. Cheers

you could try boarders transport - they took my roll cage from Canberra to Melbourne for $60 (and it was about 30kg and in many sections!), it was an O/night job and they managed to keep it all together!

I argue that AWD and 4WD are different! Jensen FF inteceptor CONSTANT AWD Range Rover CONSTANT AWD GXL + Cruisers CONSTANT AWD = constant power transmitted to front and rear GTR 4WD Prior to GU Patrol 4WD Rav4 4WD Pathfinder 4WD = selectable 2WD/4WD (either manual/electronic) it's not that hard, like everything - you should not beleive everything you read / hear. You should always do your own research.
-
GTR's are NOT AWD!!! they are rear driven and engage the fronts when the various sensors (ABS, yaw, throttle position etc) indicate a specific situation i.e. rear wheels spining.... Good article for you to look at on autospeed, http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_115

Tyrepower in Tuggeranong offer competitive prices, I got toyo T1-S on my GTR (255/45/17) for ~$300 per tyre, once I scrubbed them in they are great.

Be useful if you have access to the whole article! - otherwise do a search on these forums..... -
Be hard to get into a reliable GTR for that money. As mentioned, the 89's have risen in value in Japan. You could actually get one for that money though - talk to some of the brokers.

Hi Skyline Gal, it's a nice run to Bungendore, plus it is only 20 minutes for me from home! What sort of time are you thinking of going? Some good food there!

I had Phillip exhaust make a custom 3 inch from the front pipes through to the outlet. it incorporated a 3in highflow cat (that I supplied) plus two 3in straight through mufflers. cost was ~$800. I am going to put my old 3.75in system back on though.

the rear bar did not look like a modded stock item to me! Looks pretty good for the whole package... -
Look at this import R33 GTR
DAN00H replied to Lepperfish's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I think it looks pretty good FOR THE MONEY! But if you look closely, you will notice the plug cover has been off the engine for some time - it does not have the soem level of oxidisation as the cam and timing belt covers. I'd have it for that money! i bought my GTR from Geoff and it was in better condition than descirbed. NAman - I don't think it has cracks in the boot - doesen't look accident damaged to me! I think the buyer has done well! -
D.i.y Compliance
DAN00H replied to DAN00H's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
the restrictor is not needed as you can't purchase leaded from a servo, and the engineer tested the response and mounting ponits of the belts - ask your engineer why they need to be replaced! Has spmething to do with lock-up rates. (I can't see how any of the Jap belts won't pass). -
who is it that said you require one? Engineer? Why - you can't get leaded any more?!?! If it comes to it, get one from a jap wreaker...

Stuff to do on my R32 GT-R when it arrives
DAN00H replied to ocean's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey Patrick, don't worry about it mate - look at the extras that you got with the car and you will come out in front. From the look of it I would say it is mostly cosmetic. That I/C is certainly not stock - depending on the level of damage (looks like the end tank has seperated from the core), it may be possible to repair it! One of the guys in Canberra with 2350's on his GTR is running ~300rwkw. Good luck with it, let us know how it goes DAN00H -

sounds like you bought that dark coloured GTR that prestige had listed! that thing is rated decently in the power department. You also might want to check the rubber bushes for wear, alignment of all the suspension geometery and injectors. Seeing as it took a hit in the front, I would also pay particular attention to the alignment of everythin in the front and check the engine / gearbox mounts. hope it all goes well - looked like a few extras were there but not listed -
What have you found to be the best spark plugs? It seems most people use NGK, anyone with other experiences? What gap do you run & why? Anyone used the Aussie invention plugs? (was something posted here a while ago, but I can't find it...)

Hi Nik Hope you get it sorted without too many difficulties... not good news.
