Hey my Skyline sits way too high!!! want to sit about 12-14 cm not buying new coilovers for 1k+ $650+ cheapest quote for getting lowered decent amount using springs (By a professional) $300-$350 springs off ebay etc and maybe DIY(spring clamp $50 or so????) 2nd hand coilovers?? $600???? haven't seen any 4 sale i know putting springs on original shocks can be bad and wear out your dampers but if Im lowering it to the heights i want will it be ok? Brenton has done the timing belt on a quad cam engine, done engine swaps, replaced head gaskets etc so he is pretty confident he could do it links advice and being pointed in the right direction would be appreciated, thanks

Nah, there isn't a law saying you can't drink anywhere in public, but there is designated "dry" areas...which I can't of to many places that aren't..

LOL! Yeah, Tyler likes cruising in my car...It's very plain at the moment...waiting to earn some real money then hopefully people will stop calling it a commodore, and it can live up to it's badge

My friends a photographer, and is always looking for something new to take photos of. would you like me to pass the details on to her? Not sure if she'd be interested but worth a shot

I would say BMW Alphera is great to deal with. That's who holds the finance on the Lancer, after I sold the car to my mum she kept the finance with me cos I'd had no problems with them. *No balloon *fixed interest *they're happy to DD or for you to pay by Bpay * Happy for you to pay extra with no fees *No exit fees *There pretty flexible if you can't make the payment, just ring with 2 or so days notice. *Online account so you can check how much is left owing and anything else you need to look up the catch? They won't finance cars more than about 6 years old, and weather they like imports I don't know

sorry to hear about it, hopefully they get recovered soon

Weren't you a lucky boy. I'm from a single family so mum always had crappy old cars
-
I wish my mum had a Skyline, I used to get picked up in a Datsun 200B and an LJ Torana in Primary School and then high school was either the '94 Toyota Camry or the 88 Mitsubishi Lancer

LOL. +1 +1 I'm not into blokey blokes, but no one has the right to ask you to sell; saying this I told Brenton he's not allowed to sell the FTO.
-
How come your missus wants you to sell? it's a gorgeous car, and future daddy's don't have to be boring. I'm sure any kid would love to get dropped off to school in that I'm sure if you tell your missus you want to keep it and explain I'm sure she'll agree to keeping it. She's probably just sick of your uncertainty and complacency about it. In the end most women just want to see their partner's happy. I really hope you keep it, shame to see it sold. To anyone else it's just going to be a car they brought, they aren't going to see the blood sweat and tears you do.

OMG Graeme that's awful. Jells road is double laned I think, and he still ended up on the wrong side of the road. How can someone show no remorse for a head on at such speeds (Jells is a 60 zone isn't it?) when they're drunk, realistically speaking he could have killed you...If I saw that I would probably expect you to be. Not only is there the physical cost of injury, there is the emotional cost, the economic drain on the health system (physio, nurses, doctors, anesthetists, occupied bed in surgical or rehab ward) there's also the emotional stress on your family and wife, and the financial stress of living on 1 wage, it all piles Hope you're okay now though. Your damn lucky. Birds- If my son did that I would not be letting him get away with it. The child should have been made to apologize. I didn't care about it because it'll just come out but that's not the point, the little kid is now not going to learn a lesson from it. There is so many ratty people, someone asked Brenton to 'smoke 'em up' today at the traffic lights and he had a small infant in a carrier on his chest, while standing less than 2 metres from the car....some parents need their butts kicked.
-
After that comment I got a bit pissy, and said she should have been watching her kid! or perhaps help get her kid out of the car, really all it'd take is for someone to come into the bay quick and her kid could get hit. (that's if I wasn't parked there) So many kids grow up ratty cos their parents aren't doing their job properly. You get these commission mummys who have 6 Plasma babies, then those kids think it's okay to be like that and have 6 plasma babies each, then before you know it you have 36 ratty grandkids, 6 ratty kids and 1 very ratty granny, and a family of 43 all claiming Centrelink benefits

Perhaps they didn't feel that they had hit your car? they look pretty big but maybe they're from a towbar??? I took the BMW into town today (I run it every few days, to keep everything running well) and a little kid gets out of his mums Falcon and swings the door open and hits the side of my car. Mother said nothing even though she saw it, instead she looks at me, gives me a death glare and says "It's your fault for parking next to other cars..If you don't like it, park somewhere else" Too bad if it had been a decent car....or a merc. Appears shitty drivers are everywhere

Or....here's a bit of a crazy idea....Keep it Let me explain: You said in the add your selling because it's time to grow up and get ready for a family. You could put a family in there! Me and my partner have a 17 month old son, my 4 door GTV is the 'family car' and Brenton's modded FTO is 'the other car' We have a car seat in both cars (car seats are really cheap, can get them from about $75 from BIGW) We have a red and black 'Aunga Racing' one in the FTO, it matches the interior and has a high safety rating, and Tyler loves it because he can sit so close to mum and dad, and a black and grey one in the Skyline. A friend of mine has a car seat in a fairly heavily modded turbo Supra. As long as it has a back parcel shelf you can mount a car seat, and the anchor points are really easy to install if there isn't one already. We didn't have to install them in the Skyline because it has 3 already. Mother's Choice anchor kits can be purchased from Super Cheap for under $10 We have subs in both our cars (Mines just a little 1500 watt Clarion but Brenton has 2 huge Rockford Fosgates running off 2 amps) I did some research and have actually discovered that subs don't do any damage to bubs, as long as there kept at a reasonable level, and by the time the vibrations reach the back seat most has been absorbed by the normal seat and the car seat. As Brenton's subs take up the majority of the boot we usually do our large grocery shops in the skyline, but we can still fit a stroller (not a pram) in the FTO. When it comes to strollers VS prams. Prams are usually are a waste of money and they usually get resold as bub can go into a stroller by 4-6 months (strollers are from $25 from major department stores) Biggest piece of advice: Don't sell your car for your kids. I sold my Lancer and went and brought a BMW family car...worst decision EVER! It makes parenting much easier and much more enjoyable for parent and bub if you don't change everything for them, instead try to include them as much as possible into the existing family. overall including them is much more enjoyable, they get to feel like a big girl/boy and you keep your sanity

Alvin- That sounds sooo yum Hmm this thread is making me hungry, does someone want to cook me lunch?

People are pretty hopeless...and you seem to find most in carparks. You could have always been much worse off..... I had a guy go clean into my passenger rear guard a couple of months back (I can't really remember how it happened, it happened so fast, and was more concerned with keeping my car on the road) a guy with a massive bull bar on his POS hill billy ute hit me, and now I have 1 very F&^ked up looking panel and a smashed up bumper....$4000 worth of damage to my rear guard and most panel beaters believe it's a cut job (St Albans panels reckon they can stretch it out for $2000) either way did the guy stop? Yes; Did he give me his insurance details? No he said he was going back to get a pen and paper to write it down and took off. No Cameras Lots of witnesses on a major road Cops can't do squat

That looks really nice. I really like the GTR interior, it really minimises the use of the grey (No offense to Nissan but I hate the overuse of grey) The interior is so immaculate for it's age. All the red stitching is still red, and not pink.

I'd also like to know that, but maybe someone around St Albans or Sunshine. My cars also due for a service. -
Nothings been happening up this way. there was a flash thunderstorm for about 5 minutes about 5ish. It went from sunny to thunder and heavy rain (no hail) within minutes. Now it's fine, bit cold.

No I'm not saying there wrong, it just seems so wasteful Anyways I'm sure not all chefs do it...The chef at the local Chinese doesn't deglaze the pan, he just chucks everything into a very disgusting looking pan with burnt crap still in it.

The ad's back up again, this time it say's it's from a women named Rebecca in Stawell. 1) Medical bills are covered by medicare if you have permanent residency or citizenship 2) if you do have to pay for things (elective genetic testing for example is something that's not fully covered, same with visits to private doctors) usually about 50-60% is returned to you by the medicare safety net. 3) To my knowledge the pediatric hospitals at Melbourne and Sydney are much better, so why send the 'daughter' to Adelaide when she's from Vic?? 4)VicRoads doesn't have the records even though the current Carsales ad says it's registered til June 2011 Smells like a scam but it does look really nice

Scientific Experiment Involving My Car And A Carrot
slinky-minky replied to slinky-minky's topic in Victoria
Muztek- How selfish of me not sharing my scientific genius with the rest of Aust. All those poor New South Welsh people driving around with no middle finger cos there sunroof screwed up and lopped it off while they were giving someone the bird Cowboy- Wouldn't you like to know where I keep my carrots..... I've always wanted a reason to use that bunny -
I don't deglaze my pan with it, what a waste of perfectly good wine. I add it in the last 5-10 minutes, and I usually use about half a bottle, it makes the cream go much further and it makes my tea smell excellent.
