  1. Really? You wouldn't think people would take their family cars up there. We've never been to one before, been to a test and tune, that wasn't bad. It's not so much it's lack of turbo that bothers me, my car has enough power for what I want... but it's very embarrassing cruising around in a Skyline with a huge ding in it....my back left has a flared guard now How I hate stupid big 'cars' with bull bars, apparently silver is a very hard colour to see.
  2. Hey everyone, Found this on the Winton site, and thought I'd pass it on, my partner & I are heading up their with some friends in his FTO. I won't be taking my Skyline..it's a non turbo... Winton Family Fun Day- Sunday 12th of December 2010- $30 Can go 80% of driver & car capacity. Chanz
  3. That's a pretty crispy looking ute. Your so lucky to have got out of that.
  4. I've seen this car getting around the St Albans area a bit. What a shame, it knows how to move. Does your friend go to Vic Uni? I think I've seen it parked in the student carpark I hope it's recovered unharmed. I'll let a couple of my Melbourne friends know. Cheers Chanz
  5. it doesn't seem the same without the 3 of them. Hammond has several things on, he has that afternoon kids show about Science, and Wipeout UK. We've put our names down for tickets though, doesn't look bad
  6. We got a Heines model engine at the same time. It was actually really interesting...how the hell they think a 10 year old could that together is beyond me. it took us about 6 hours or so to put it all together. We still haven't got our model FTO yet
  7. Before you get to excited, it's only a model..... I found this on Ebay, while looking for a model FTO for my partner, and thought you guys would like it. I haven't got mine yet because it comes from Japan, but I should have it soon. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/24210-1-24-TAMIYA-N...=item3f02683c37 They also have the Series II http://cgi.ebay.com.au/24258-1-24-TAMIYA-N...=item41531358dc and what looks like the R35 GT-R http://cgi.ebay.com.au/24300-1-24-TAMIYA-N...=item414802e0ad The store of Ebay has other ones as well, like the WRX, Porshe Carrera, FTO, Supra, Evo V
  8. +1 Their just the ones that get paid the big dollars to enforce it....but some of them take it to far.
  9. A fine? I suppose that's better then nothing. However if you're a rat and go around stealing peoples cars/personal possessions you're probably not going to have the money to pay the fine so they take it out of your Centrelink payment at $10 a month for the next 20 months?? You know can't get blood out of a stone. Honestly I have no sympathy for those people (mainly cos I'm still pissed off about my backdoor being forced for the second time this week) Solution to the "Hoon Problem" 1) designated track days across different locations in Vic (Gotta give something to us country folk..after all we are the "Hoon Capital of Victoria...now put that on the Bendigo number plate) in monitored controlled areas. 2) Proper training....do what NZ does shave 6-12 months off your P's for doing defensive driving courses...They'll love it, they get to have fun and be rewarded by less P time. 3) Organise more local competitions for burnouts and other "hoon" offenses. It's not encouraging it but then it can be done in a safe and controlled environment.
  10. Is this the future of the modded car???
  11. Very true. What drives me nuts is the lack of priority in the system: we live in the nicer part of a shitty suburb, it's cheap but with that comes rats stealing stuff. One of them were snooping around one of the bedrooms window while my partner was at work, so I rang the cops, they told me that they had bigger things to deal with, and for me to go outside (at like 1 am) and 'deal with them' and to "drag him into the middle of the street and phone again" if things got nasty. I am female, I'm not tall (5'7) and I am of average build, how am I suppose to fend off someone that is well over 6'0 and would have weighed well over 100kgs. I later found out that at the same time they were just finishing off a booze bus on the main road. I wouldn't call them weapons. Weapons are guns and knifes that people keep under their seats or in their glove boxes....and possibly the steering wheel lock that I have to keep down the side of my bed, out of fear...because of lack of police patrolling problem areas. My mechanic, who has always been happy to work on my cars, refuses to work on my Skyline, If I need something done I have to take it to Melbourne. Why? out of fear that he'll have cops on his doorstep or have his licenses taken off him. He has nothing to hide, he's not dodgy or anything but he doesn't want the attention from the cops. It's sounding a bit to much like the German SS. My partner, my mum and I do the same thing, so you're not alone. Apparently my 50 year old mum is a hoon....in her Lancer...that has an amazing 69kw and red lines at 5,500. I think it's just cos her car is red....well pink cos it's epically faded. She was angry, and booted it (as much as you can in a 1.5lt, in a car that she never red-lines) from a set of lights, didn't go over the speed limit but got pulled over for "hoon behavior" I rather my partner get it out of his system. He's had a shit day, I've had a shit day, the massive drive from Melb to Bendigo has exhausted me,if we didn't get it out of our system by either hard acceleration or by turning the stereo up to a deafening level we would probably no longer be a couple. We never do; burn outs, do excessive speeds, spin em around round abouts, generally loose traction. They keep talking about this victim of crime fund but I have never seen it in action. A friend of mine was loading his groceries into his car, and had some rats steal his keys and beat the crap out of him in Ballarat (not surprising ) did the victim of crime fund pay for the tow truck? or for all the locks to be changed? Nope. Someone broke into my mums last year, they stole my house/shed keys and my mums car/house/shed keys and emptied the contents of both our purses on the back veranda. They took cash & my drivers license. The victim of crime fund didn't cover the cost of the locks being replaced on the Lancer, we had to nag the Insurance company to pay for it. They didn't pay for the locks to be replaced at my house, on the shed, my mums house, or the cost of a new drivers license....so what do does it cover?
  12. Saw a very nice looking R35 GTR at the traffic lights next to Federation Square on Friday the 1st (October) I barely noticed the light turn green, was to busy creating a small puddle of drool.| I'd never seen one before (I'm from the country so the nicest thing I see is a done up R33 GTT) I actually thought it was a new 350Z to begin with
  13. Hey, There is a guy named Zac at St Albans Panels in William St, St Albans (Near Keilor Plains Train Station) He is pretty friendly and seems pretty knowledgeable, not sure if he can come to you but I know he will pick the car up and drop it off. St Albans Panels Williams St, St Albans Phone: 9366 6409 Hope this helps
  14. Krysui- Nope wasn't my fault, had a car go in the side of me on the way to uni but the dude hasn't got insurance and I only have 3rd party The guy told me he didn't have insurance but went back to his car to 'get a pen and paper' and took off. I was to upset and shaken I didn't think to get his plate number. I may not need the guard anymore I found a company in Melbourne who can straighten it out without cutting into my car (They heat the panel up slowly and stretch it back into shape)
  15. Happy Birthday
  16. I've also posted in the wanted to buy section but does anyone know roughly how much I'd be looking at for a rear left guard?? I was involved in a small low speed accident today and the guard can't be fixed, they need to replace the whole thing.
  17. Hey everyone, I was involved in a bit of a bingle today and need the rear left quarter panel for a SILVER R34 (1999 Series 1 GTv)
  18. Alex- I'd be less proud if I lost my license and had to drop out of uni over a cracked tail light.
  19. I do have a sedan, but I never knew that the coupes came with that as stock, I asked a friend who owned an r34 coupe and he didn't know about it either.
  20. I know exactly what you mean, there quick fixes last 8-12 weeks then the whole is there again if not slightly larger Where are you from? I'll remind myself not to visit there
  21. Mine sits at about 3.5 at idle and 4 @ 2,000 rpm reaching a max of close to 5 when you put your foot down. That makes it sound as if perhaps last time it was serviced that used too thick of oil....thoughts?
  22. Basti-I totally missed your first few posts. My set up was all wrong and now it's much easier to read. Thank you,it's good to see people have respect for nurses, I read somewhere recently that we're more likely to cop a beating then a cop *sounded like bullsh!t really* Doctors defiantly have their place though, respect to anyone who can sit through more then3 years of Biology, it's a lot of work and they deserve the respect for it. You guys also get that status of saying your a Doctor, we don't get no respectable title. Dr Basti sounds so much cooler then Nurse Handley or Slinky Minky RN or RM (Midwife) Alvin- Hot food leads to hot tips. As long as it's hot and I don't have to get up to re heat it, I'll tip. Birds, Vspec & Hektic- There really needs to be more male nurses. Need more to look at in lectures A friend of mine goes to the paramedicine lectures to stare at the guys. Some of those paramedics are sexy though. That's because Div 1's are hot Lots of gorgeous girls in my course.
  23. We come very close to having the same role, basically a doctor scribbles some stuff on a scrap of paper we then have to decode their shocking handwriting and do whatever task or administer whatever drug the doctors requested and on the topic of duty of care, our duty of care and code to ethics is very similar to that of a doctor, do no harm, don't kill anyone, look after them, act in their best interest, make sure we know what drugs we're handing over...our duty of care also has 1 other part though we're also suppose to keep an eye on their mental state and follow it up if there not seeming so well anymore.
  24. That wasn't suppose to sound like me boasting about getting out of a ticket, I was actually asking if anyone else had got out of tickets. That video on You-Tube just got me thinking about some of the odd ways people get out of tickets
  25. In America I've been told it's compulsory to leave a tip, but Americans always leave tips...and usually pretty good ones to. I sometimes tip my pizza delivery dude...I feel sorry for them, they get paid shit all
