  1. Very interesting today Jez- so we know stock ECU > Theos aftermarket computer> motor. And I can only read what the stockie puts out. Had a great run coming back down the old Pac- volvo convoy.
  2. 8.5:1 Moar boost!
  3. Spotted wagon boy up the central coast today. Had a great run back down old PAC hwy.
  4. lol... might have something to do with it. A lot more grip than most cars. Doesn't matter - you don't shift 1-2 on the track. See how it goes on the track- I hope you have a big cooler.
  5. Nope. I've always found 3rd is the firm shift, either shifting up or coming down. As I said - the best thing you can do is get in another transgo V35, and see if its any different.
  6. Jump in it, put it in manual, start from 1st WOT, and shift into 2nd at 4500rpm. Should feel nice and firm and fast, if not chirp. The reason I say this, is that the ECU actually calls for less line pressure at over 6000rpm to save the gearbox from the extra jolt/pressure, and this slows the shift just a little bit.
  7. There are multiples of certain springs in the kit. What you use depends on s1 or s2 box. Confusing maybe for first timers? Best thing to do is to get a drive in another transgo car, and compare the pair.
  8. Yeah, can't imagine an off the shelf box controller. I know the ECU tells the gearbox line pressure commands, becuase I have the uprev that allows me to alter them, however that is just one map in what I imagine would be 5 or so different maps for various aspects of the gearbox. I don't know what is stored in the ECU, and what is stored in the GB ECU. There is a hell of a lot more to it than just the line pressures.
  9. Get a V35 system then mate. Will go on there- just have to sort the control & wiring out.
  10. PNM35 twin thermo fans bolt straight on the back - for series II owners.
  11. yeah, sorry - wasn't trying to ask /question if you were srs.... hopefully I'll be out there having a proper crack soon one I get a more appropriate car - the old bargewagon doesn't like texi very much!
  12. no-one in particular. That was just generally what I asked ppl at the gate before releasing them. Some courses you see everyone make the same mistake, and if they are out for times, then I try to clear it up for them. If they just want skids, I won't worry about which side of the cone your supposed to go around.
  13. 1st question - are you srs, or just want to do skids? 2nd question- do you know which way to go? followed by a explaination of directions 3rd question/statement - this is where most people go wrong direction "xyz"
  14. they also "engineered" it with a terrible dump pipe, and a turbo that explodes at around 100k kms....
  15. I think VQs are set up to run hot due to the stricter emmissions regulations. It doesn't mean that the motor enjoys running at 95 degrees coolant and 95 oil temp. I haven't got my tune with me, but I believe the motor is off cold map by the low 70s. Our cold maps have idle control, ign timing, and four fuel maps to control.
  16. They never made it with a VQ25de..... Only DD. Wikipedia brah.
  17. Nope, not compatible. VQ25DD - Non turbo, DIRECT injection motor VQ25det- Turbo, std type injected motor. You can pick up a VQ25det std ECU easy enough, but then you have to do all the intercooler and turbo plumbing as well, upgrade your gearbox and make the ECU talk to it too. If you feel like being a trail blazer, go for it. But expect a lot of trouble shooting.
  18. Expect exactly the same thing as if trying to install a VQ35. Different ECU, electronics etc. Its not plug and play.
  19. because racecar? You guessed right. Its a oil change reminder. Its not a "smart service" system, but a kms based reminder. Can be set for a number of different service items. Search through your TV/in dash computer, and you'll find the way to extend the service period/cancel the reminders and the pit will go away.
  20. Think it might be to do with the security and GPS system in the pop up dash. Just leave it alone. Nothing to do with abs. Abs computer is different to motor ecu, so codes won't come up with the manual process I think. Needs compatible scanner. Otherwise don't worry about it. Remember you have stock injectors before you go into heroic power attempts...make sure your tuner is monitoring knock.
  21. Just get a scanner and read the diagnostic code. That will lead you in the right direction. When you can achieve full boost very early, I'm not sure a screamer was the right choice. Mines plumbed.
  22. Nope, no kit here, mine has been hauling the meat bag to dog training this arvo.
  23. at a guess - have a look at the part numbers from the V35 awd car, and the part numbers from NM35s V35 AWD should = G35x I'm guessing. hmmm thats a lot of guessing
  24. Yeah, they are different. I have noticed that some componants of mine have "4WD" stamped in the plastic. My tray is fine - so I'm keeping it that way.
