  1. Your right- HKS know nothing when they didn't put a BOV in the kit.... plenty of blown up turbs from WOT surge- haven't seen one blown up from pigeon. But I do understand where your coming from. Sounds like OP needs a Scotty dump pipe and exhaust- and not "flutterz".
  2. Prove it pigeon FTW! ztuzuzuzuzuzuuzuzuz ps... its not actually compressor surge, IMO the surge that kills turbos is the WOT surge that is totally different. But it is a kind of surge. Better off just to leave your BOV alone.
  3. Had a 997 GT3 cup car at work a while ago...sounded insane. Love the throttle response on these, and how the Revs drop so quickly.
  4. I think nisswreck had a vq25dd stagea for wrecking, but it's been a while since I looked on their site. Also Scotty nm35 has a 25DD, but I'm not sure if its for sale. You can shoot him a pm.
  5. Yeah, you'll need not only the motor, but the loom, and relevant ecus. Don't know if the 35 ecu will talk to the 25 tranny ecu. Might just be a plug in, may be a wire in. To me it sounds more like a head gasket issue, and may not be as expensive as you think. There are spare motors around.
  6. I think mine runs hotter oem, but I went from normal temps in the mid nineties with stock system with the stock fans cutting in at 100 degrees(!). Now I have mishimoto and nismo thermostat. Normal temps is cold night 77, normal low to md eighties. Fan programmed to kick in at 88. But I'm spoilt with stock twin fans.
  7. oils aint oils, and just cause it looks "good" at 10,000kms doesn't mean it has done its job. Check out the sticky oil thread in "general maint" if you want to read up/ask questions...
  8. Hi Guys, I'm after a R32 for a bit of fun on track days and Texis. I'm after a GTS-t, not a GTR or GTS-4. The car doesn't have to be in immaculate stock condition, I'm realistic, however I'm not after a project / engine out / flogged out / gutted car. Car must be registered- I'm open to interstate cars fm Vic or QLD, but must be able to pass blue slip inspection in NSW (ie roadworthy inspection- no pods/ high mounts etc etc) Preference is for NSW registered cars. I'm ok with mods, as long as they are quality, and performance focused like Rads / oil cooler / FMIC etc. I don't care too much about dash Kms, because the car has probably gone past 80,000kms a few more times than whatevers on the dash. More importantly car must be in solid mechanical condition- expect a independent compression test and a good look over. Colours - preference for silver, dark blue, white but less for red/black What I don't want/care about - I don't want your loud respray coloured car, Massive sound system / TV /subs, crash damaged, rusted out, drift pig, hektic body kit car. Stock wheels are fine - I have track rims. I'm ok if its a RB25 conversion, but must be engineered and registered with the eng #. Price - If your putting your car up asking 10k, we probably won't come to an agreement / not the car I'm looking for. Be realistic about the price. I'm not a low baller, just have a look what lightly modded GTS-t cars are going for on the website. Let me know via PM what you have, or if any mates are thinking of selling.
  9. As Scotty said- via the valve body.
  10. ESpecially if that's 1/2 throttle. Wot should see the ecu demand higher line pressures.
  11. The stock box is as good as it gets really. Open up the front of it. Proven to flow 350rwkw. Still legal. Stay away from oiled filers, as they may effect the Afm. Your first port of call should be the exhaust, incl dump pipe. Have a search and you'll see some threads. The search function works well. Welcome and enjoy your stay!
  12. I take it you maxed the AFM? Go to uprev mate for ECU, forget the plug ins. They do a "bigger" AFM too that'll go into the place in the kit. Although you do have to disassemble to get to the AFM... grrrrr. 600cc inj will give you more head room than you'll ever need with 98, plus a fuel pump. Manual I take it? Should be good for 225-235kw without using dyno correction or any of that bs.

  14. There are more brands than previously listed coming in. It appears a trade accnt helps.
  15. Any more plans for it Iain? One of my workmates is going down the tuning path with his VI GTI. I told him he'll never stop at just a tune... The K04 is the go isn't it - out of the Golf R?
  16. Can't do a skid. Rubbish car.
  17. Hard to say Ryan - it cuts all fuel to the motor, so its like going from Full rich to no fuel instantly. Not something that is kind to the motor for a long period of time.
  18. They have a nasty habit of not supplying just the bearing, but making you buy an assembly as well. Just like some of the suspension arms.
  19. aheemmmm.... might just have a RDO on the 26th..... Scotty your car isn't invited. It drinks too much booze
  20. While I love the DIY and "give it a go" factor, does makes me wonder- Do you ever watch the road with so many gauges?
  21. I didn't believe you, so I went and looked. Thats just terrible.
  22. possibly the worlds worst wheel Photoshop? Fark- I mean the front brakes are on the rear Photo aside (obviously not a company pic)I can't help but think the management of this launch is not being taken seriously/professionally. I mean, it hasn't even had a whisper of coverage, and I see no infinitis driving round.
