  2. I would be checking the timing. If it was professionally tuned though I would suspect that it would be timed correctly though. Also, what's your idle speed and have you had any internal work done? Cams perhaps? I know when I put my cams in, to keep the car running smooth and not stalling I had to bump it up another 100-150rpm at idle to keep it from stalling, I had the exact symptoms you described.
  3. ^^ I can only hope that if you get it back an alarm and immobilizer set up will be your number one priority. Can't believe there's another victim. I'll surely keep a look out in my next of the woods.
  4. How do these cars keep getting stolen? This is getting closer and closer to home and I want to know what (if anything) was protecting these cars from theft in the first place... Surely they can't be getting past immobilizers, alarm systems and fuel cuts (yes I understand they can simply load it up on a truck, but not from lock garages)? Sorry to hear another innocent victims car has been stolen
  5. Cool cool, I'll keep an eye out for it.

  7. I might be up for it. Cars going in for a mild tune tomorrow and I'm quite eager to find out it's potential down the 1/4
  8. I had some good experiences and some bad/rude experiences with cops. It really does come down to the individual cop in question. When I had long dreadlocks and was doing courier work I got to drive around in a tray back hilux. I went through an intersection and proceeded to the workshop I had parts to deliver to. As I hopped out of the ute I heard a police car hauling it around the back streets with their siren on and they proceeded to block me in the drive way and with in seconds were out and demanding my license. When I asked 'What have I done?' They responded - 'There was a robbery that just happened and the apparent driver had dreadlocks and was driving a white ute. They let me go when they could match my details or find any background information on me. Another time I was at the same intersections (still had dreads doing courier work ) and I saw a cop car drive through the intersection and one of the cops eyeing me off all the way through. At the time that was happening I was scratching my ear. I new they were going to pull me over and there was no way to avoid it as I needed to get back to work. I got around the intersection in time to see them pull behind a van up the road. I drove past and they sped up quickly behind me and flashed their sirens. I casually pulled up (luckily) outside my workshop in the drive way and all the other employs just watched. The cop TOLD ME I was talking on the phone and he saw me. When I told him I wasn't he said, 'No, I saw you.' (when in actual fact it was his partner who was watching me). I proceeded to stand by my statement and he took my license, ran checks came back and said ' There's three way's we can go about this' here were my options: 1. He takes my phone down the station 2. He confiscates the phone, calls the service providers and proceeds to get all my recent log times and pin me 3. He browses my phone and checks all text messages and calls for recent logs. Naturally I went with option 3 and after 5 minutes if looking through my phone in his cop car he comes back out and states. 'There's no logs but I'm still making a report log about this'. He was an ass and an arrogant f**k trying to meet his quota and (I assume) targeting me because I had dreads. Stereotyping bastards. And then there's good stories, like a cop who admired my car and assured me that my clean car is what will save me. He browsed it, noticed my aftermarket blow off valve and pod filter and was more than happy to breathalyze me and send me on my way
  9. I dunno man. Much the same as someone above stated, show them respect and you will receive it back. I've been pull over once in the past yr and a half of owning my Skyline. The cop thought he heard my blow off valve and pulled me over. Walked around the car stated - 'Looks like you've spent some money with this, and you look after it. Pop your bonnet, you know the drill'. He heard the plumb back pressure come through through my POD filter and stated I couldn't have that sound. When I explained and pointed the sound should be coming off the trumpet he allowed me to rev again and said 'At the end of the day, you look after your car and it's clean, that's what's saved you'. He was pleasant throughout it all and wasn't arrogant. And just to confirm, I'm not a hoon, nor a lead foot... but I do enjoy giving my car a squirt every once and awhile. Just know your limits and show the authority some respect and give them the benefit of the doubt they're not just going to be a prick. People give import cars a bad name, but at the end of the day, do things right and you shouldn't have a problem. As for all the mods above, you should be right passing through. Just make everything as clean and tidy as you can and go for it. You won't know until you've done it for sure.
  10. As Pal said, keep it on zero. I think you can only replace the ex cam gear unless you eliminate the VCT (wouldn't recommend it for what you have). When I put a set of cams in, we retarted the ex gear by 4 degrees. That little adjustment took over 10 degrees timing out of the car and my CAS would only advance to 8 degrees. Last thing you want is to strip the front down again
  11. Curious... Anyone used Autoglyms High Definition Pain Cleaner and/or High Definition Wax? Reviews and videos seem alright but a first hand opinion from a fellow skyline enthusiast would be even better haha I went to autobarn pick up supplies... nearly died at the sight of the price. $60 for the Paint Cleaner $130 for the (150g) tub of HD Wax!! I thought that was quite unreasonable and ebay backed me up - I can buy both products for $60-70 shipped from the UK
  12. Maroon R33 on loganlea Rd on tuesday night. Both having some fun with induction sounds beside each other. Always love hearing another skyline spool up
  13. Hey Luvpsi, I have a white R33 paintwork in pretty damn good condition and I constantly get asked how come my car doesn't have the typical 'staining' above the exhaust. What I use is Meguires deep crystal paintcleaner. Give this method a try (if the rest of the paint work is in great condition). - wash the car to remove contaminants - (with a microfiber or DA buffer) Apply a small amount of Meguires deep crystal paint cleaner and rub (not harshly) but firmly in a circular motion. - Run over the affected area twice if need be - After you've cleaned it (providing the stains are removed) give the affected areas a polish with your preferred product and then follow with a wax to seal the polish. My advice is, consistent washing (once a week) will always prevent it from accumulating quicker. If the cars polished and waxed properly, this will aid in the ease of cleaning off the stains. Hope this helps let me know how you go.
  14. All good now... When I refreshed the page it sent my monitor into a loading frenzy lol. Few questions for you: 1. Were the polishes/waxes machine applied or by hand? 2. If machined, using what and the style of buffing pads? 3. Are all products stated safe to use on clear without causing any damage? (I assume they would be if used on a 350z) 4. How long did the detail take? Many thanks in advanced
  15. Astonishing results on the swirl and web removal. Mate did you just change the post? Because the images were working a second account now it's just the URLS showing
  16. Where was this? I saw a black R33 S2 but only out of the corner of my eye... time I realized was too late to show any gesture >.<
  17. Saw a white R33 GTR at Mt Gravatt tafe today. Followed me out of the parking lot and that was it haha
  18. Spotted a white R34 and a 4door R33 both of the side of the road near T-Bros loganriver rd. Beeped my novelty air horn... hoping it was someone here
  19. Saw a white R34 parked in the carpark opposite the slingshot in surfers this arvo. Also drove through an intersection through beenleigh and spotted a white R33 almost identical looking to my own (Y)
  20. Just curious, anyone else going today/tonight?
  21. Two toned silver and gun metal grey R33 skyline just pulled into to snack bar next to my work on spanns rd.
  22. Parked next to a grey/silver R34 this afternoon 2nd level of the hyperdome loganholme. Also 2-3 car spaces down was a 32 with an SAU sticker in the window. And just near that a lime green metallica R33. Apparently the hyperdome is the place to be
  23. Saw street fame (I think) in the beenleigh market place on christmas eve. And I saw Becks driving over the meadowbrook over pass into loganlea. I was in a White R33 on the opposite side of the road
  24. Well I was lucky enough to store my car in the workshop shed when the hail came, any unfortunate queenslanders that have had their cars damaged? What's the extent? Edit: Ignore the title misspelling >.<
  25. I agree. Can't exactly find myself getting drawn in as much as the UK version. It mustn't have the level of comedic intelligence I need.
