  1. I think Danny's surname was Hoang, if this helps jog anyones memory. Not sure how a well known shop like Cyber just disappears from the scene?
  2. Alex I'll proceed on the basis that there is no condescension in your post above. However, for your information page two of your link has two criteria that mean no dice, namely, nothing pre 2004 and the other is also pretty obvious. Also given the Privacy Act - nothing useful would come of a my.rta search. Someone must have seen it or know something about it. The plate was like that in around 2000-2002. The exact logo posted was on the boot. The car had over 500hp at the wheels, which was a fair bit when it was built.
  3. There could also be an underlying unknown context, such as his wife was in the backseat and the baby started crowning; or his mate was choking and he was racing to the hospital; or he had just said something really inappropriate to a bike club's Sargent at arms and his driving behaviour was literally for self preservation Best to just call the Police, if it's really dangerous driving.
  4. This same company logo was painted on the car.
  5. The video that the car is on is Serious Performance 4 not 3, as I earlier thought. It's old number plate was GTR32T. There is at least a couple of minutes discussion on the car. Another distinctive feature is that it had embroidered onto the black leather seats a very distinctive Macchina Magic logo.
  6. I don't know it goes as far as saying that that exact car was pinched, the way I read it suggests it may have been. Hopefully, Blitz can confirm. I have also PM'd Iron Chef to see if he knows anything about the car. It's good to see a senior member of the club assisting in tracking down a significant Skyline.
  7. Or a letter opener... No serrated edge, so doesn't cut
  8. Good find. Car still around according to this. Are the key members that commented in that thread with details still active?
  9. Great to be a part of the well oiled SAU community.
  10. Hi Duncan, it was really important car at the time. A big hp car built by, a back then, we'll known Japanese workshop. It would be sad to hear it was stolen. Someone must know if it was actually stolen back then.
  11. Correct. There are some arguments that are worth a submission, like blood testing verse religious beliefs. It is really quite involved as you rightly pointed out.
  12. You can refuse, but the subsequent arrest and charge for refusing to supply a specimen of breath for a breath test is pretty high. The more salient question is: why would you be drink driving over the limit in the first place? That's the only reason why you'd refuse.
  13. I think that even if the roof was buckled like a banana, this car would be repaired. It appeared on the Serious Performance 3 video.
  14. I would be happy to either give or arrange for a few of these. The first could be on understanding the laws that operate in this space, as there have been some recent developments and then build from there.
  15. Hi George The link is tricky from the Deen f-gear page. Just go straight to this page for online catalogue and ordering www.sprasia.com/tv/user/fgr/index
  16. I did the same search 6 months ago. I then contacted the editors of Fast Fours & Rotaries and Hot Fours for details. I then contacted the number on website many many times - doesn't connect. I then visited address on website and they aren't there anymore in Carlton and haven't been for some time. It is as if they just disappeared. I have also conducted an ASIC business name register search and the company is still registered, but the address is same as website. Via rumor alone, I have heard that he ran a coffee place in the airport - but this cannot be confirmed. I have also conducted an ITSA and Supreme Court search and they did not go bankrupt. So now I start a post to see if someone knows following my extensive litigation turning up no result. Now back to the subject of your above post... Thanks for suggesting Google, I guess?
  17. Sorry, you seem to rely on the common law of contracts as being the only remedy... It isn't. Refer to such legislation as the Competition and Consumer Act. Or the CTTT for a lovely little tribunal remedy.
  18. Really helpful!
  19. Does anyone know what happened to Cyber Motorsport, Danny and Ben?
  20. No luck. Surely the car didn't just disappear?
  21. Nymans, as listed above by Yeedogga are in Darlinghurst. Justin @ Streeton Lawyers is just down the road from the downing centre courts in the city. In relation to gauges on A-pillar they can be mounted in trim, but must not be screwed into metal on the pillar. The reason they get picked out is that it's an easy target for a defect. Moelders can confirm that even the green beast can be driven without a defect once pulled over by HWP if you know how far the law extends. At the end of the day it has to do with legal interpretation. If you ask under what section of what act the authority comes from and they give a wrong answer, then you're in a good position. Also, the argument is that they are not in the head impact zone, if you want to be clever to HWP just say that's unlikely because you always follow the cabin briefing before flight and put your head between your knees prior to impact however, jokes aside don't actually say this, because if accepted you may get a neg driving charge. There are some obvious exceptions to gauges on the pillar, namely, if your car has side impact airbags, such as in BMWs then do not install gauges there as no one wants to view you in a casket with Autometer Phantom imprinted on your forehead on that note, it never ceases to surprise me when I see an Astro Boy doll stuck on the passenger side of the dash right on top of the airbag cover - a coroner writing death by Astro Boy on the certificate is a massive fail. If people are really interested, I can put up some authorities on this on another thread. However, with the caveat on both this post and the thread that this does not constitute legal advice and if in trouble you should contact one of the firms mentioned above. I add that you should have a professional install the gauges and not do it yourself. NSW HWP are typically pretty good about gauges, but unfortunately a couple of over keen and ill informed members will be encountered. This is not an advice, as those are typically over 5 pages long.
  22. Legal aid were't the right people. Community legal centres are a better option - they are generally free and stocked by lawyers from firms that are reputable and acting on a pro-bono basis. There are things that can be done pre court to initiate a settlement. However, having said this, the old saying "you get what you pay for" is true of lawyers also. For recommendations of specialist lawyers contact your state or territory law society.
  23. From a lawyer... I would go with Nyman, Gibson Stewart. They won a case years ago about overturning a speed camera fine on the basis of a clever technicality. From memory the lawyers name was Ben. Also, Justin Wong at Streeton Lawyers is good.
  24. Not quite... politicians make laws. A very sad incident regardless of what car did it.
  25. Thank you Heasmans for the suspension education. Even the more difficult questions were answered on the spot regarding roll centre and bump steer. My highlight was the wheel alignment presentation and camber and toe angles for more street/drag oriented cars explanation. I know from past experience that wheel alignment perfection is an art form of patience. No more sounds like... [Wax] quick and careless wheel alignments for me. What was also interesting is that they do roll cages in house too. Thank you to Terry for the lift home afterwards.
