It stores a fuel map, but if that was lost everytime the ecu lost power then you wouldnt be able to drive it once you got your first dead battery, it would need constant EEPROM flashing....
I meant that it does not store any volatile info, meaning that it does not keep info in memory that is cleared when power is dissconnected to it, and there is nothing you can "program" into it, to change anything you have to whack a chip into it, so what is the point of "clearing" the ecu when really it actually does nothing?
Not that it matters to me as I have a PFC, but would be good to get an answer on it I guess, might do some searching tonight as this has been discussed before on SAu so there has to be an answer for this somewhere
