  1. As we have said before, laggy is subjective. and that full boost is at 3800 in 4th gear, i mostly use all the power in 2nd and 3rd, and these gears naturally require less load, so the boost is going to be later than 3800 in 2nd and 3rd. I have no idea why people are so surprised i think its laggy. Besides that im happy
  2. Made 276 kw on 18psi tapering to 16psi, it did make 295 but timing was put back to make it safer Mods are as follows Z32 3" exhaust, no cat, 1 muffler (home-made) 600x400 bar and plate cooler with return flow piping, assuming its home-brand as i only paid $50. Tial 44mm gate (17.64PSI) (no boost controller) Hypergear SS2 0.82 type b 52mm Radiator bcpr7es copper plugs DW 740cc Injectors accompanied by a Bosch 044 (intank) HKS pod 3 inch intake Power FC on RB25 & 98 fuel EVERYTHING else is standard
  3. Yes, In my opinion it is still laggy. But that is greatly outweighed by the power it produces and the smile it puts on my face on boost. Mind you it has performed just as well if not better than Stao has described it would so the turbo for what it is is great. 4. Whoever purchased a ss2 running ext gate is in for a treat. Just got my car tuned at chequered tuning Initially got 295 but wanted to be safe so turned back the timing. So final = 276rwkw 18psi tapering to 16psi Full boost at 3800 There is an abundance of wheel spin and really quick acceleration . Very happy.
  5. hey mate, will you separate the data logit? if so i am interested. PM price if you are keen, thanks
  6. Lol. How would you know what my idea of laggy is? I have doubled the rear wheel and rear housing size, so I think it isn't premature to evaluate this. Even a good tune won't make it not laggy "in my eyes". But each to their own I guess. Some people don't think a g3 is laggy and some people (me) thinks a ss2 is. Its a fantastic Turbo and so dynamic but as I said I have to get used to it.
  7. Quick update. I have boosted my SS2 to 15psi and it goes awesome considering its untuned. Knock didn't go past 18 (had a previous tune that accommodated the boost. And clutches kicks are a dream with the twin plate. Getting tuned on 18-20psi on the 15th. If I get time I'll post up the results of that. In all honesty it is a bit laggy for me but I'm very picky. Just got to learn how to accommodate for it when I drive.
  8. possibly coil-packs? you haven't described it properly but that's my 2c
  9. Yeh. The adaptronic supports flex fuel by interpolation of fuel consumption. That's what the manual said anyway But not sure about 2 separate maps.
  10. I'm not going to be using a electric boost solenoid, so that feature will be void, but for tunerbility and power potential, would AFM (power fc) or MAP (Adaptronic) be better? If they are similar and outcome will be the same as you say, is it worth the hassle of selling the setup i have now and going Adaptronic? On a side note, Adaptronic uses wasted spark, will this affect life of the coils or produce a lot more heat in the engine?
  11. Hi, going to book a tune this week, just wanted peoples opinion on an ECU, I currently have Power fc with Z32 afm. But i was thinking to go down the path of Adaptronic and go with a MAP sensor? What are your preferences, to help me make a decision, as i dont know what to pick. Its only between the two so please don't recommend another ECU
  12. Just Google rb25 manifold lol. I haven't done anything to manifold. The external gate is off the rear housing. It was cheaper, easier, and I could use my factory crossover pipe with no mods. Just have to chop up the heat shield a bit.
  13. Turbo feels like it will make heaps of power and feels pretty responsive considering I doubled the a/r on the exhuast housing. Might boost it to 12psi to see if theres a big change. I just can't believe how well the tial controls the boost. Nothing comes out The screamer until like 9-9.5 psi.
  14. picka-boo TiAL ... pretty happy with the end result. only on 10psi at the moment but holds dead flat, car is alot faster and spins all off second if i dump the clutch which it wouldn't do before. Booking a tune at Chequered Tuning next week, aiming for 280rwkw at 18-19psi
  15. Haha. Dual gate is true. But the internal one is locked of with a pin and is nice and sealed. I did it so I have better resale value as well as the option to use it for EPA excuses/rectification and the most important reason for me, bolts to existing dump pipe. Nice and easy
  16. T revs ah OK. Well I have that one. Lol. I will be running 98 due to the fact I do a lot of mountain runs and track days and e85 is not available as much as I would need. But saying that I have 044 in tank and 740cc deatzwork injectors. So I have room to play for e85 when I get used to the power of 98. Its like a free upgrade and by then there will be more servos
  17. According to stao I have the most recent one. So not the lightweight one but the one after. Lol. Too many to keep track of.
  18. For anyone interested this is my setup that will be installed by the weekend, ss2 0.82 type b rear, ext gate 44m tial with screamer and a comparison of the rear housing and wheel from factory
  19. I've got my ss2 0.82 and an external 44mm tial gate dummy fitted at the moment to get my ext gate pipe cut to correct angle and length etc. So will be install properly and running by next Saturday. And may I say its going to be a very neat setup Stao, can I come in for the free upgrade of the compressor wheel before I use the Turbo? And will the lightness sacrifice strength at higher boost levels? And is the blade design changed or just thinner blades. Any other major changes?
  20. U need to upgrade ur fuel system on most setups. So that cost is accounted for in both fuels. Plus using the gas analogy it is way better for saving money as the savings pay off the capital cost. And once that's done its pure savings
