  1. Who is Gavin ? Do you have a number or is that the name of his workshop as well. Where abouts is he ?
  2. Thanks for that SydneyKid, finally a definitive answer on the subject! All I'm really planning to add to the car is bigger injectors (550cc to 600cc), a 600x300x97 intercooler, better intake plumbing to the air box some adjustable CAM gears (an article in ZOOM claimed 20rwkw without loss anywhere in power band - they had dyno prints). All I'm after is around 600HP at the flywheel. Oh yea, I also plan on adding my direct port, 3D mapped water/methanol injection system once I build it. I'm thinking of using it to get more aggressive timing as I think 20psi boost is heaps.
  3. Yea I called up to get the standard R32 ECU reprogrammed and all they did was try and flog me full ECU replacement. Does anyone know anywhere else in Briz that will reprogramme the R32 ECU ?
  4. Sounds Sweet.
  5. A question or two. Where are you getting the ECU remapped, what will the approx. cost be. Do they have any problem with the bigger injectors ?
  6. Anyone used Chip Torque ?
  7. What would you expect to see, a small gain or is it worth the investment. Then what ECU would you recommend or should I just get my stock one re-programmed as the R32 ECU is reprogrammable.
  8. Your delightful sarcasm aside, Sydneykid you are finally starting to get to a question I have been trying to get answered for a while. "Without changing boost, how must gain do you get with an Aftermarket ECU". I am not claiming to be the authority, just stating what I have. My turbo's are steel wheeled with 360deg thrust bearings and the car is a GTR not GTS. It also has head porting, matched port manifolds, large exhaust, high flow filter.
  9. Get a high flow K&N filter that fits in the stock box.
  10. I would not be too quick to write off the standard ECU. An air flow meter measures air into the engine so the ECU can mix the right amount of fuel. I think the time to upgrade to aftermarket ECU is when the standard injectors are no longer up to the task of delivering the fuel you need for the power. Then you need an after market ECU to re-program for bigger injectors etc. Like I said earlier, I'm running 20psi boost with factory ECU and the car runs like a dream. Been like that for close to 3 years.
  11. I agree, a big year of Track & Mountain driving !
  12. Question doesn't have enough information to answer.
  13. www.whiteline.com.au
  14. I run the standard management, untouched at 20psi and it is perfect. Been like that for close to 3 years. Don't underestimate the standard ECU. Just has to be set up properly, no problem with boost cut on GTR, but as SydneyKid said these are easy to get for GTS.
  15. IR spot lights is an interesting idea, and would probably work well. The high reflective number plate won't work on IR photography and also draws attention to yourself. What about the old fashon radar, which is not light. These would still nail you with all ideas above. I think the idea of tilting number plates etc is good for both methods of getting done as the more you reduce your radar footprint, the closer the device will have to be to get you, so you may have a chance of spotting it and punching the centre pedal.
  16. I agree with JimX, those doing the training are the ones who want to drive harder, and are out testing new skills on the road. Unfortunately it takes time to learn new skills and on the public road a mistake usually means a crash. The race track is a better place to play around and stick with what you know on the raod.
  17. Off the subject a bit, how do you find the Wolf 3D ?
  18. Yes, you may be in trouble if already in trouble. Tough call.
  19. I got the Owners Manual and it says 72 litres. I use BP Ultimate, as I had a bad experience with OptiMax. Never have any problems in summer with pinging etc and I live in Briz.
  20. They do most of the work, should be ok as long as back ones are ok.
  21. Same, never speed it Suburbia. Killing a little kid is not what anyone wants to live with. Drive hard, but drive smart.
  22. Good point on the retailed heat. Shields are probably better then.
  23. I was thinking the same thing a while back and I was told that it can hold moisture and rust out the pipes it is wrapped around after a while.
  24. I also agree. They quoted $400 to change my shocks over, did it in the driveway in less than an hour instead.
