  1. i think you will find the weight of the rear drum assembly will like most things make a difference to performance. You are talking a few KG's with the drum, pads and cables probably 10kg. Little bits all add up to make a larger difference. BHD - The piston in the handbrake can leak, it is something that will probably never happen though
  2. if race car then yes go ahead but if a road car you need the cable brake. I would not trust it by itself though
  3. that bus is awesome
  4. does the R33 have the same plastic fuel tank in between the spare tyre well and the rear seat the same as the s14/s15? If so fuel cells difference can not be as great and where i have seen most people place them is higher in the centre of gravity.
  5. i think with the non-turbo 6 you can probally get better fuel economy though.
  6. looks like even though i have been on here since 2003 i am guessing i don't have enough posts to edit my original post so someone is going to have to do it for me.

  8. opps sorry. Don't forget to also run as little fuel as possiable to keep the weight down. Simple but often forgoten,
  9. you can also go for a short walk and see some "lady's" of the night..... although you might be scared/sick for life and things might drop off afterwards.
  10. well we could kind of run an unofficial Skylines Vs Silvia day at the coming NSCC track day on the 29th May 2011 @ Wakefield. Our last track day with timing was $95 for members, factor in a $50 + once off $25 joining fee and you have a $170 track day which is the cost of a normal supersprint event. Timing, max 60 cars - well run - i reckon the unofficial Skyline vs Silvia battle would be great
  11. have to fix the miss fire first though
  12. i am in for the s chasis vs r bozz man, best i have managed is 1:04.2 still slower then the cheater 4WD cars - LOL
  13. chris, you need to cover the fuel going out of the surge tank mostly with the fuel going in. The fuel going out will be under pressure so work out how much is going out at max duty then work out with your lift pump under no pressure how much it can flow. You can cut it fine and probably never have an issue depending on how much fuel you have going out of the 6.5ltr surge tank. (thats a big surge tank) Most people can run the std pump but without knowing to much in you case i can see with twin 044's and 6.5ltr surge you are using a bit of fuel so what i said above up front applies. Matt
  14. the first video the car, the car that went round you on cold tyres and then spun was quiet funny
  15. Hi, I have for sale a used turbosmart dual port BOV - $150 Best bet is to PM me if you don't get an answer quickly enough, I had mine fitted on the intercooler pipe like this but you can fit however you wish. In this configuration it was full plumb back Regards Matt
  16. managed 14.7ltrs per 100klms in the falcon G6e turbo over the 2200klms trip down to Phillip island with a detour through Melbourne city and driving around town. This was with a full tank of gas in the car being towed as well as full set of spares (basically the car was full) and 3 blokes in the falcon with luggage and my big tool box. Was using 91oct fuel for half the trip then realised i could get better fuel econ on the 95 so switched on the way back. Towed at the speed limit very well and could easily overtake when needed although we took it easy.
  17. i can remember similar discussions a while ago about drifiting and it's place in motorsport. I can recall comments that it was going to be the next big thing. Drifting has found it market and similar to superlap had a big event or two with even TV coverage at one stage as well as international drivers (still some fairly big state based events now). Time attack style events will find there place as well in time and i for one enjoy these type of events more so then some of the other types of racing mainly because of the cars involved and i can have a crack as well. Need to keep the interest up for the feeder clubs and channeling cars into entering supersprints when not in the superlap event but i think CAMS need to have a look at the classing of the cars rather then chucking everything into one bucket ATM. (guess that is another argument though)
  18. was not the best weekend with miss firing that i thought had been fixed and then cracking the turbo manifold most probably due to the miss firing and having to run as little boost as possible. Was nice to meet you all and whilst with all the troubles it was probably a weekend to forget it made up for it having a chat around the garage and seeing all the cars out on the track. I have put together a clip for my tuner to try and work out what is the problem and replicate on the dyno but it gives you an idea of my frustration. The running around with little or no boost and the big crack in my manifold was fun for a while until smoke started coming into the cabin. Might have to wait another couple of years to be able to afford to head down again but hopefully it will just be the driver and not the car as the limiting factor next time.
  19. bummer thanks for the heads up on the lodge, hopefully the weather holds and the car runs fine - fingers crossed.
  20. roy, they got my form and i am in for sat and sunday. Now praying the weather is ok
