thanks for the quick replies, once i get manifold back i will attempt to line them all up. my manifold was one of the first ones available on market like 5yrs ago, so maybe the newer designed ones are better not too sure!
ill report back
Just a quick question for you ppl who have installed the freddy manifold, I pulled mine off the other day and noticed I only have 4 bolts underneath holding it on out of the 6 there , anyone else only using 4? I can't remember why I only had 4 on maybe 2 of them didn't line up with the head ?
Mine? yes the intake cam was drilled with oil gallery if thats what ur asking. it was like a week after cam install the vct rattled and made noises. was still fine to drive/power on. just shit house noise.
I got the camtech 272s and retained the vct, once mine were installed, my vct flogged out and i got alot of noises, replaced vct gear and it went back to normal quiet as. not sure if that helps.
ive been using some cheap 50mm gate for about 5yrs now no drama. but id prefer to spend $$ on a good brand one if i done it again. but in saying that, cheap gate has worked fine on low/big boost e85 etc.
Im more leaning towards around 500rpm with vct switched off minium, get vct working, it will make the car completey different.
when my vct is turned off, its a dog shit 500hp.
i killed about 2 sets of high flowed stock rb25 injectors over space of 1-2yrs running e85, mine were all random cyclinders, just kept replacing with more shaved injectors, then went bosch and fixed problem
i know of a rb25 with performance springs and poncams made 580hp with manual and 520hp with auto, perfectly fine both around 25/26psi
I run a camtech 272 with lewis engines supplied springs and hydraulic lifters and they are fine at 24psi so far.
mind you i also had stock gear handling the power and boost also before cam upgrade.
hope this helps
there goes your mid range, freddy manifold or greddy both fail, shoulda kept stock item or gone plazaman. well done u turned your rb25 into an rb20 torque wise
well ive run into a bit of drama with a noise, not sure if the cams have caused it or bottom end, but apparently bottom end knocks dont go away once warm like this does. plus my vct gear is on its last legs.
but yes still going strong when i do drive it.
