My last premium was around $800p/a with NRMA with $500 excess.. (clean driving and accident history - 38yo) they undercut everyone else for me. NRMA are happy with the V35. V36 is even easier.. suncorp and a bunch of other common insurers will cover them.

V35 Skyline Premium Vs Non Premium
sonicii replied to MFC05's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Weren't Brembos an option too? -
I have been looking at options to correct the camber on my front suspension with 350Z springs fitted. Currently I only have about 1.2-1.5 deg of negative camber with the stock setup, but as this is my daily, it has caused more wear on the inner edge of my front tyres. I don't want to spend too much and don't want to cause extra road noise/suspension noise, but I don't want those cheap dodgy ichiba/godspeed units either. I was looking at these http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=858&Car_Type=G35&UID=20140701181803147.209.216.245 Since kinetix seem to make some good gear, and also they have a reasonable amount of +ve camber adjustment. Has anyone used them or know if they are any good? The price seems quite good, and comparable to just the SP eccentric upper bushes, which only give up to 0.5deg adjustment.

the G37 was definitly sold here by Infiniti, but only the coupe and convertable, the Sedan wasn't, only the M sedan was. They have now all been replaced with the Q series, Q50 is the G37 Sedan replacement, and the Q60 is the coupe replacement. (Q70 is the M replacement).

I thought compliance was available for all models up until Infiniti started selling them here?

Considering V36 Nissan Skyline 370Gt
sonicii replied to The O-Man's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I agree.. I think it is some sort of 'japanese' thing, they just don't seem to place much priority on cruise control, even the G35 in USA had cruise.. I am assuming all G37s sold here have cruise as standard too.. If you want one setup for Australia, you are going to need to buy the locallys sold product. -
I'm fairly sure it was a manufacturer option on the auto, which also came with the 19in rays.
-
usually it was only on the 6MT or if the 'sports' option was selected. Jack one rear wheel off the ground, remove the handbrake and put it in Neutral (with suitable chocks under the front wheels of course), if it has LSD, the wheel will need more effort to turn by hand and you won't be able to turn it very fast, if it has an open diff, it will turn fairly easily. Or, jack up both rear wheels, (again in N with handbrake off), turn one wheel, if the other one turns the same direction, it has an LSD, if it turns in the opposite direction, it doesn't.

V35 Skyline Premium Vs Non Premium
sonicii replied to MFC05's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
items are different for Sedans too. all 350GT sedans are 'Premium', but many don't come with Bose, and the VLSD is standard on the CVT model too. I just use the link to the Nissan Japan webpage further back in this thread when I want to check what is and isn't 'premium' and what is an option. My sedan also has fold down mirrors (which comes with the security option), but doesn't have a reverse camera. I also have a catalogue at home that lists all the dealer options for the V35.. there is some weird stuff in there!! EDIT - this one - http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fhistory.nissan.co.jp%2FSKYLINE%2FV35%2F0411%2FGRADE%2Fmain6.html&sl=ja&tl=en&history_state0= -
yes, it is an aftermarket unit, so it isn't limited like the dealer option. What do you want a pic of? the only thing visible in the car is the factory cruise control switches which look like these - http://www.ebay.com/itm/INFINITI-G35-SEDAN-STEERING-WHEEL-AUDIO-CRUISE-CONTROL-SWITCH-OEM-/151225242020

Anyone Have Or (Had) A Black Car... Good Or Bad?
sonicii replied to Black Dog's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
yes, except the price is in the GT-R territory in Japan, so probably the same if they brought it in to Aust. Given that, I would take the GT-R every time! But if we could get something close to the USA prices, it would be great!! -
I bought mine from Commsman a while back, he put together several for sale, don't think he has any more though, but he might be able to tell you where to get the parts from. Works very well and he sold it with the factory steering wheel controls, so it all looks like a factory setup.. was about $600. But really, any cruise designed for a DBW throttle should work. Otherwise Chris Rogers will be able to advise.. not sure if he sells the kit though, probably supply+install only. Have been considering 'frankestining' my speedo cluster to add the 'cruise' and 'set' lights for mine.

This is the V36 sedan replacement.. already imported by Infiniti Aust as the Q50, so you won't be importing one any time soon. (the Aust lineup includes a diesel instead of the 2L T.) We also get the option of an AWD Hybrid. I would be very happy with the 3.5L Hybrid.. have you read the specs??.. around 5sec 0-100 times (for the RWD).. and fuel economy of around 5L/100km. combined power/torque figures of 268kw/546Nm so considerably better than any current stock V36. and considerably better than the Q60 (V36/G37 coupe replacement), which only gets current VQ37HR engine. You will also notice in Japan, it is just known as the 'skyline', Nissan badging has been completely dropped, even thought it has the Infiniti logo all over it, they don't have 'Infiniti' in Japan.. -

and no, you don't get a warranty, don't bother with those 'dealer' warranties either, they are a waste of time and money, they will wiggle out of paying for anything that goes wrong.. As said, buy from a reputable importer, if you must buy from a dealer, have it checked out very very well, as many have the odo wound back, have been a write off, or other nasty things. -
Front End Alignment In Melbourne
sonicii replied to develec's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Unless you have aftermarket alignment kits, the only adjustment on the front is toe, surely even a rookie aligner can get that right? -
Have you checked the AT fluid level?

All the HUs are made by clarion. The Bose system runs exactly the same HU as the non-bose system with one jumper changed to reduce the audio signal output and enable the remote power output. (Due to the presence of the extra amp.

Sedan V36. What Different Between 350 And 370
sonicii replied to tom218's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
My V35 does better than my wife's J31 CVT maxima, it returns mid 12s in the city and mid 8s on the highway. Although it does more short trips in the city than the V35 does. to be fair, I live in Townsville, so city traffic isn't 'stop start' traffic like the capitals. I thought my odo was misreading for a while, but when comparing to a GPS it was only out by about 150M over 10KM, so only 1.5%. I was getting into the 12s in the city when I had a faulty AFR sensor, but it's back to normal after replacing that. -

hmm.. my V35 manual returns 7s on the highway and in the 10s in the city (11s in summer with AC worknig harder).. -
Sedan V36. What Different Between 350 And 370
sonicii replied to tom218's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
If they don't have auto levelling headlights and headlight washers, then HIDs 'should' come out during compliance. I would happily buy a V36 - 350GT if I didn't already have a V35. I think they are priced quite well since many people want the 370GT. Just keep in mind the example prices prestige motorsport supply are usually based on the exchange rate at the time of the sale, so you will need to factor in the actual exchange rate you will get, which will usually be a bit worse than the current official exchange rate (everyone wants to make their cut). and prices usually exclude new tyres, RWC, Rego and insurance. -

V35 Sedans come in a manual, but not V36 Sedans. -

Interesting. I wasn't aware of this. in my experience the VQ35DE doesn't benefit from better economy with low cruise RPM. I guess the VQ37HR does? 50kg is a fair wack for an extra 2 gears.. the 6sp manual weighs well under 100kg in total. -

^^ mostly this.. 350GT was a 3.5L sedan only and was only availble for the first 1.5 - 2 years of the V36 model run. All V36 Sedans are auto (manual is not available at all in the V36 sedan in any year). If you want a manual in a V36, you have to go to a coupe, which are only 370GT (3.7L engine). After about 2008, all sedans were a 370GT. I think the V36 350GT only came with the 5sp Auto. From what I have heard the 7sp auto didn't really give any benefits in performance or economy, but I haven't heard anything bad about it either. -

it would be better to clean any car once a week than once every month or so.. Provided you are using quality products. (don't even think about using dishwashing liquid!)
