  1. They are asymmetrical tyres!!. the inside edge will still be on the inside regardless of which side of the car I put them (tyre sidewalls are marked 'inside' and 'outside)'.
  2. I am hoping the wear will be minimal and I won't have to worry about camber arms.. the tyres are asymmetrical (not directional), so I can't flip them on the rim.
  3. Shouldn't be too bad, many parts on the car are the same as the 350gt or the 350z, it is really just some specific engine parts and transmission parts. I would expect normal consumable parts like radiator hoses and spark plugs should be easy enough to obtain. The items that are different aren't really know to fail or be problematic.
  4. when I had a front personalised plate damaged, I needed to return the front one before they would issue replacements, and was told it is ok to run with just a rear plate, as the police could confirm my order for new plates if there was any questions about it. I would expect there should also be some leeway in this situation too.. but it might be different from state to state..
  5. I was more worried about uneven wear with too much camber.. some say I will chew out the inside of the tyre fairly quickly, some say that 1.4deg is nothing to worry about and it shouldn't impact much on tyre life.. I will just wait and see for myself. It makes sense that too much negative camber will wear out the inside edge of the tyre quicker than normal..
  6. Thanks for the tip Sean.. I am going to see how my front tyres fare with the -1.4deg camber with the stock arms.. have done nearly 2,000km (city) on them so far and can't detect any additional wear on the inside edge of the tyre.. I guess I will probably need about 10,000km before I can come to any conclusions.
  7. If you happen to own a 2013 V36... but a 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe is American only.
  8. ??? there is absolutly no electrical difference between disconnecting the +ve or -ve terminal first. If I need to disconnect the battery to do any work on my car, I usually disconnect the negative terminal for the sole reason of safety. If I disconnect the Positive terminal, it leaves the positive terminal on the battery exposed, so if I accidently drop a spanner between the exposed positive battery terminal and any other metal surface in the engine bay, it will short out the battery and can damage it, or other components.. and at worst, cause the battery to quickly overheat and explode. By removing the negative terminal, it leaves positive terminal covered with the plastic guard, but even if it didn't have any plastic guard, it also isolates the metal frame of the car from negative side of the battery, so dropping a spanner between the positive terminal and the metal of the car, won't cause a problem.
  9. I'm kind of with you on that. Bogan Holdens with chev badges is probably the reason for my dislike of such things though. Funny part is, in USA it is 'cool' to put Nissan skyline badges on a G.
  10. The 'hard race' units look very much the same as the ichiba camber arms.. a quick google of these will turn you off fairly quickly. If you don't want to go with the SPC PRO arms, you can get their standard arms. - this is a US page, so you will need to add freight. http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35/product_info.php?products_id=4635
  11. GM = General Motors. LS - a series of V8 engines produced by GM ranging in capacity from 4.8L to 7.0L T56 = 6sp manual transmission built by Borg Warner, often used on the above engines. Anything can be done with enough $$..
  12. excellent.. and it is definantly is CVT fluid?? not just someone's urine? I might buy a 20L drum of NS-2 fluid for the Maxima/Murano CVT, half of that will be more than enough for a full flush, and I would sell the other half to recoupe some of the cost. - or maybe split the price with someone on here if they have a suitable transmission that is due a flush..
  13. fair enough.. yet isn't used by Renault??
  14. Isn't the FM platform a Nissan product too? I don't think that platform is used on any Renault's so I don't think they built it??
  15. スカイライン - Japanese for Renault powered Datsun Which skyline is powered by a Renault engine?? the VQ is a Nissan engine (although Renault are now using it in some of their cars too).. the RB is an nissan engine..
  16. Sorry.. I misread your original post.. it though you said 250GT Four. which was the AWD version.. totally missed the 'Door' part.. unless your later edit changed this part??
  17. The V35 also uses a variable displacement compressor, so it can adjust the cooling power based on requirements. the older style compressors were just on or off.. full cooling power, or none at all, even if they had climate control.
  18. I didn't think the AWD 250gt was on the SEVS list.. how did you get one complied? personal import? (lived in Japan for a while) Sorry.. don't know any good mechanics in Sydney..
  19. The system won't work as well at idle, and the air probably warms up a little between the evaporator and the outlet.. the temp sensor, post evaporator on my old J30 Maxima used to hit 4 deg.
  20. Does sound like a bad ground point. I wouldn't expect a cam/crank sensor to kill the dash lights too. The old 'the all do it' excuse.. And I though that was only car dealers/dealer mechanics that used that line??
  21. Most systems will cool the air to around 3-5 deg when working well. The 18 deg minimum is the cabin temperature, not the temp of the air coming out the vents.
  22. ^^ what he said.. Sounds like the condensor isn't getting rid of the heat and the AC system is tripping off on high pressure. As Andrew said.. check thermo fans first.. then check the front of the condensor for bugs/leaves/sticks/etc..
  23. I believe it was an option.. no V35 had it standard.
  24. it isn't in the factory cluster (at least not on mine).. I looked into this when fitting commsman's CC unit.. you would need to swap the cluster with one that has the indicators..
  25. all we need now is the 'cruise' indicator in the speedo cluster...
