  1. I think this is only required on certain cars.. for example the 300ZX required side intrusion bars, and maybe seatbelts. I am fairly sure the V35s don't require this for compliance. To the OP, as others have mentioned, most of those items are service/roadworth issues, not compliance requirements. And you would have to check what 'full service' is.. it might not include and air filter and cabin filter. If it was sold to you with a roadworthy/safety certificate, and it had no center brake light, illegal tyres, illegal brakes. I would take it back to the workshop that supplied the certificate and ask them to fix it, or report them.
  2. Listen to Tony.. what is says is correct.. there should be plenty of high intensity red LEDs available, you just might need to look further than Jaycar. I also suggest you replace all of them while you am there, even if you can get the same spec LEDs, the older LEDs will have lost some of their intensity, and you could end up with a 'hot spot'. Does the center brake light really use SMD LEDs? I expected they would be normal 5mm LEDs.
  3. Yeah.. $110,000, and they aren't even importing the M56!!
  4. I have heard rumors of a G sedan in mid 2013.. probably just rumors at this stage though.. Prices for the M are approx $94,000 - $110,000. depnding on spec and colour. http://forms.infiniticars.com.au/PublicWeb/PricingCalculator/pricing_calculator.jspx?model=Y512
  5. I wonder if the Commodore and Hyundai Di engines are going to have the same issues? If there was an easy solution I expect Nissan would have kept them..
  6. Don't think nissan are using the DD engines anymore, they phased them out in the mid 2000's.. the maximas run a VQ25DE and a VQ35DE.. the V36 250GT is a VQ25HR.
  7. I don't think the police really know what's banned and what isn't.. I watched one of those 'police patrol' TV shows a while back based in Melbourne.. they pulled over a p plater in a BMW 335 for expired rego. wasn't until they were about the let him go that their computer told them a 335 is a twin turbo 6cyl.. and therefore restricted.. Their computer probably doesn't even know what a 350GT is.. and it clearly isn't a lamborghini.
  8. I can under stand the mess in the plenum with EGR and PCV messing things up.. but why is the throttle body covered in crap too?
  9. I believe they both have the same connector which is why this harness says it will suit either, but the D2R bulb has an intergrated reflector to use in low beam applications. the D2S doesn't
  10. HIDs do have a smal delay, but the most noticeable effect is the don't come on at full brightness when cold, they take about 15 seconds or so to reach full brightness, and they tend to be a bit 'blueish' as they warm up.
  11. The lens housing will say D2R even if halogens have been fitted. It would be safer to look for the ballast connections, or even better, remove the existing bulb.
  12. I generally stick to the terms 'HID' and 'halogen'. Xenon is a bit ambigious as HIDs are filled with Xenon gas, but you can get halogens with traces of Xenon gas also. So the term Xenon doesn't really define the type of lamp. As Sean said, factory low beam are HID. If the car was complied proplery, they would have been removed and had halogens fitted. However there are plenty of V35s getting around still with their factory HIDs in tact, either re-fitted after compliance, or complied by a workshop that didn't know they need to be removed.
  13. Building the engine to suit is probably the safest path, as power can be addictive, and everyone will always want 'just a bit more'. That said I have a friend running 9psi via a stillen supercharger on VQ30DE A32 Maxima with stock internals. He has had it for about 4 years now, and doesn't exactly drive it nicely.. no engine issues yet. Who knows if it will last, but it certainly didn't become a hand grenade after a few thousand km.
  14. Agreed. And my guess is Infiniti Aust. are waiting for the V37 to be released, rather than importing the V36, and upsetting the buyers with a new model after a few months.
  15. Your best chance would be to sign up with one of the importers and tell them what you want. They can keep an eye on the auctions in Japan for you and let you know when something comes up.
  16. You will need to clear the fault code to get rid of the CEL. The link on the first page should help with that.
  17. ^^ what he said.. (except it is under 210kw in Qld). That is why I previously said that if Qld Transport ever decide to ban the 350GT, you don't have any hope of getting an exception..
  18. Sorry, that was my point.. it isn't illegal/restricted for you in Qld.. it is under 210kw, isn't a V8 or turbo charged.. so you don't need to worry..
  19. I've used conceptz performance a few times. Coz is very helpful and always replies to emails. http://www.conceptzperformance.com/
  20. No.. Silver...stock sedan, other than coupe 18s.
  21. It probably is a good idea to clear this data when making any significant changes. But I reset mine a couple of months back and reduced my fuel economy for a while.
  22. Sorry, you managed to slip your last post in just before I hit send. I meant the disconnecting the battery method didn't work for me.
  23. ^^ this method did not work on my 2005 V35.. I am assuming the OP wants to clear the self learn data, which will need consult or a datascan tool (not sure if there is a manual procedure for this?) Doubt you will notice any difference, unless a faulty sensor has been messing up the data previously. maybe removing the battery works for earlier ECUs??
  24. I don't think they are illegal in Qld actually.. I checked it out a little while back.. the rules are weird.. Qld has the normal 'No V8' and 'No turbo' rules, but for others, the limit is 210kW. And since the 350GT produces 206KW, it isn't restricted. However, if you own a restricted vehicle and want to apply for an exception to allow you to drive it on your 'P', then one of the requirements for the exception is a maximum of 125KW/tonne, which the 350GT doesn't pass.. So if they ever do decide to ban it.. you have no chance of getting an exception..
  25. There is no bluetooth on the factory stereo.
