After owning a series 2 for 6 months & starring at the boost gauge every time I drive the car I have only just noticed the series 2 boost gauge does not read in KG/CM2.
It reads in KPA
It allows the the pressure that builds up in your fuel take once the engine switches off to be entered back into the engine instead of just venting to atmo. I assume the NEO's have it because they are the "fuel economic/ low emissions" RB. The car runs fine without it, mine is just venting to atmo. I just dont like knowing something is broken or not working the way it should be.
Sounds like a WRX you say?? Coilpacks is my bet. My car had the same issue between 4000 & 5000 rpm. If I held my foot flat it would sound like a WRX from 4000 to 5000 then it would be fine from 5000 to redline. It only did this under full throttle. If I held it part throttle till 5000 & then put my foot flat no issue.
Changed my coil packs & problem gone. Maybe get all your boost issues sorted first, if its still giving you issues then maybe he didnt change the coilpacks like he said.
Yeah found the details, its called a Variable air intake control solenoid valve, part number 14920.
Nissan want $180 for a new one. I might try hunt one down from a wrecker or online.
Drove the car last night & the idle was fine but pretty sure if I turn on the aircon it wont be so happy with life.
Hi guys & girls
Could any one please identify this sensor & give me an idea on where I can get a new one from. The 2 nipples that the vac lines go to have snapped off.
This is on a R34 GTT, 1 of the vaccum hoses go from the sensor to the cross over pipe & the other goes to the intake manifold.
On my last R34 I ran DBA4000 slotted rotors on the front with Remsa pads all round. I tracked the car on a monthly basis & I had no brake fade.
They were still great for the street & didnt chew rotors. Greg from GSL recommended the pads to me. They are also less than $90 a set.
I'v put a set of Remsa's on the front of my new R34 & I am still running factory rotors. Iv done 2 happy laps so far & no fade.
It really is not worth it. I loved my series 1 just as much as I love this one. The only reason I wanted a series 2 is because my series 1 got stolen & I didnt want to buy the exact same car, i wanted something a little newer & a little different so the series 2 was perfect.
You are going to struggle to find a series 2 for 15k, when I was looking there were 6 for sale in the country.
I bought mine for 18k in July & that was one straight off the boat from an importer in Sydney.
You will be able to buy a series 1 privately for that sort of money for sure.
Sorry mate not willing to part with it just in case I decide to use it at a later stage. You can buy the GTR ones from Just jap but think it would take some work to make it fit
