  1. OK.....you name him then
  2. Not going to name names, but didn't this guy scam some users on this forum?
  3. I had a problem with my afm a while back and did the same thing.....hasn't missed a beat since. It was fine at idle, but when I went over bumps the afm would obviously get moved a bit and the car would start to jerk and carry on and then when the road smoothed out it would be fine. I'm sure I mentioned it in a thread somewhere but as per my username was too lazy to do a DIY thread. Nice work
  4. OEM exhaust gasket is about $85 edit: hmmm.....that might have been at trade price, so say ~$100
  5. OK, thanks guys. At least that gives me some knind of an indication
  6. Went to Willowbank tonight for the first time in a while and have done a fair few power mods since my last run, but my times are still not what I think they should be. I always have trouble getting off the line, but I'm not making any excuses. I know I'm a crap drag racer. Anyway, here are the stats for my better run (I only got time for 2 ) Can someone in the know tell me what times I should be running with these number? Reaction: 1.299 (sleeping ) 60' : 2.266 330' : 6.093 660' : 9.230 mph: 80.76 1000' : 11.812 E.T: 14.013 M.P.H: 103.07 Tyres were Hankook Ventus K104 @ 36psi I really should let someone who knows what they are doing drag my car Anyone want to guesstimate what it should be capable of? Cheers edit: I had major axle tramp for most of first gear
  7. there are 2 expert opinions for you RIGHT there
  8. Maybe they should have a GTR ONLY section..................
  9. If it's about the hard pipe kit.......back off!
  10. There's no need to remove the coil entirely to check, just unplug each coil from the loom, one at a time.
  11. For good Thai....try Green Papaya in Stanley St, the Gabba.....not quite on par with Sailors Thai or Darley street Thai, but close.
  12. No it doesn't. If anyone wants 6 Bosch MEC717's at a HEAVILY discounted price, see my for sale thread here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...opic=110727&hl=
  13. If you are thinking that any of those suburbs will be kinda "beachy" because they are "close" to the coastline....think again. The only real beaches in SEQ are at the Gold Coast and Sunshine coasts, not like Sydney where, if you are anywhere near the coast, there is a beach within a few minutes drive. Most of the suburbs you have listed are "bayside". If you would be happy swimming in Port Botany, then go for it. As far as traffic is concerned, I lived in Sydney for 26 years (moved here in 2001) and go back to visit tha family fairly regularly. I would almost classify Brisbane traffic as worse than Sydney. The number of cars in Brisbane peak hour is probably fewer than Sydney, but the traffic flow is a LOT slower.
  14. Yeah, I had the MEC717's and a PFC and was still missing at 1bar.
  15. I did the wiring myself with the Bosch coils, but still by the time you add it all up (coils = 6 x $60 + leads ~$40 + wire and connectors ~ $30 + whatever your time is worth) it ALMOST works out cheaper for Splitfires. Add to that you don't have to find somewhere the mount the f**kers in the engine bay......go the Splitfires!
  16. If you are running ~1bar or more just go the splitfires and save yourself the drama. I have tried using bosch coils and it was an expensive and fruitless exercise. Splitfires = ~$550 delivered from perfectrun.com.au - not a miss in sight since I installed them.
  17. you also say that you bought the turbo off someone on this forum, but in the thread R31Nismoid posted you said it was from eBay............ You seem rather confused.
  18. Splitfires from www.perfectrun.com.au For my series 1 coils it cost $535 delivered. Deliverd in 5 working days
  19. I "know a guy" who has the manifold > charcoal cannister lines disconnected altogether, and he is getting excellent fuel economy. 400 - 450 k's before the fuel light comes on (mildly modded series 1 R33 with tuned PFC) I don't think it's the cannister......
  20. try gapping you plugs to .7 or .6 and see if the miss disappears. I suspect the miss is coil pack related from the symptoms you have described.
  21. look in the yellow pages for Queensland Diesel Spares They have everything you need.
  22. That "unsecured hose" is just a protective sleeve for your power steering line. What you have is normal and is nothing to worry about.
