  1. ^ This. Might provide vital clues.
  2. Copied over from other thread " Has anyone let the police know that they suspect a chop shop is operating? Possibly out Bankstown way? The fact these cars disappear without a trace tells me these are planned thefts and they're being stripped and sold for the maximum amount of money possible (e.g. everything being sold) or just being shipped overseas. When my Dad's LJ Torana got stolen the motor and box was gone but the chassis was found burnt out near mount sugarloaf, now its obvious with todays car theft theyre being transported somewhere "safe" for the strip down to get the maximum amount of $$ possible. " Every car theft I've seen on the forum lately has 20 mins at max from bankstown, yours is 28 mins from bankstown so "they" might have expanded their radius. Remember in a JDMST thread it was mentioned a stolen white S15 was seen heading out to bankstown/Lidcombe way.

  4. Yeah...I used to think that way as well. But I've been to several the small cafes and take away stores in country towns only to be left unimpressed as a) the food didn't meet expectations and b) fairly overpriced as less people traffic. I've been more impressed by the eateries I've found in metropolitan areas.
  5. A café in whoop whoop...no thanks, every country western type eatery I've ate at has always been overpriced garbage.... With the exception of a take-away shop in Dunedoo which was on the way to Parkes, best hamburger I've ever had.
  6. Sounds like it needs a sack wax!
  7. Good luck with the sale Luke. This ute has plenty of character.
  8. I'm flat out with uni....until June 7th. Any time after the 7th ill be free
  9. Doesn't surprise me. Did you point all this out to the salesman? If so, what did the salesman say? A lot of the import dealerships own their own compliance workshops. Just watched first vid with the autech S15... now why would it have two different tail lights? Pause at 0:26 and notice the RHS tailight has a strip of red in it (look near boot lock), where as the left doesn't.
  10. Sounds like it's a rebirth. I wouldn't go near it.
  11. Hahahhahaa the panel gap professor (aka me) does not approve of those photos. ....inb4 I become an import dealer to cash in on the profits to be made from this type of exercise From an observation of pictures, who else noticed that bolts for the driver front quarter panel have been repainted (usually the paint will fracture once you twist these bolts to take them off) Also, the passenger front quarter appears completely repainted. I noticed this from the engine bay pic.
  12. ^ This. Also, where the panels are bolted onto the chassis (and where you cant see when the bonnet is closed)....this part of the panel will be more of a flat blue colour with only a hint of metallic....as Nissan did this to save costs. Same thing goes for S15. Makes it a smoother transition for the "flat" colour of the engine bay. if they are complete metallic then chances are they've been resprayed.
  13. Awesome, I look forward to this. If you're struggling to find parts, you could give jesse streeter an email to get whatever you need at ... [email protected] He is an Aussie guy living in Japan, and I get all my parts through him (works out a lot cheaper than buying through websites or in stores here)... Cheers, Benji
  14. Haha facepalm.jpg Cheers man. They really are a great platform given how lightweight and nimble the chassis is. For what's next, stay tuned, I have a few things up my sleeve =). As for Mat's comment, he's just taking the piss because of the fact I always enjoy going on about how the body of the vehicle is in factory condition.......and on the way to the tech night on Wednesday I had a slight mishap where rolling contact was made with a 2001 era Honda CR-V at approx 1-2kmh while I was stuck in a traffic jam. The body now has some cosmetic/superficial damage including a couple of scuffs on the front bar and a small dent in the bonnet due to the contact with the spare wheel on the back of the CR-V.
  15. Since the wheel alignment was done, the car handles like it's on rails and is very well suited for the street. The car actually feels like a sports car now, with turn in very crisp and precise, and more speed able to be carried through corners. I have an order in to for a swaybar setup, and have a list of things to do before June.
  16. At the start of April, the coilovers and alignment arms were installed (with MUCHHH thanks to my mate).....all bushes have been reset as necessary to allow for the new coilovers and ride height. The factory bolts were actually veryyy hard to get off....(but keep in mind this is a 100% stock car that I've started with). It took roughly 10 hours to do the works. Front coilovers installed (including Ikeya formula front castor and cusco tension bar). Noticed a smidge of surface rust on the rear camber arm near the weld where a touch of paint was missing....wire brush + primer/paint = problem fixed. Progress.. Rear coilovers installed, including Ikeya Formula rear camber arms (pillow-type) and Ikeya Formula rear toe arms (bush-type). After a few adjustments and some trial and error, the ride height was sorted. Very happy with how its sitting, and at this height the control arms are bang-on parallel with the ground. Initial impressions of the suspension is that it is silky-smooth, with the quality and ride of the coilovers being exceptional. The previous stock struts (with different springs) were completely worn out so not only was it a very hard ride, but also lots of bodyroll. Haven't pushed the car at all as I still need a wheel alignment, but the car feels much tighter. Very happy with the result....I'm eager to see how the car will perform once I get a wheel alignment.
  17. Time to pass on the updates I have from my JDMST thread that I've been keeping up to date over the past months. In mid-march, a mate of mine helped me to install the Tomei N2 Oil Pan..... After some spirited driving a few days after the install, I noticed I had an oil weep which was coming from the sump....there was a noticeable amount on the bottom of the pan and around the flange area. I showed my mate who helped install it, and then a mechanic, and it seems possible problems with the welding joining the flange and the vertical surface (its welded on the inside) has caused this. The installation of the pan is NOT the cause. Tomei was contacted and a bulkload of pictures provided with an explanation of the problem, and theyd like me to send the pan back so they can test it to confirm if its a manufacturing defect. They are willing to replace it if it is a defect. They aren't willing to bear the costs of me shipping it to them and shipping the new pan to australia even if the current one is confirmed faulty. Those of you who know much shipping is to and from japan, the logical decision would just be to get the welding fixed here. Here are some pictures of the sump from where the problem seems to be coming from... Front of the pan where the oil weep isnt as bad, but still weeping out near the join Cleaned the big patch of oil on the bottom of the pan previously, and this is after half an hours worth of fairly normal driving...
  18. Hi Andrew, As a younger member of SAU, I thought your presentation was very helpful and informative. I don't think you wasted your time. I arrived a touch late to your presentation, and whilst a bit of the technical stuff went over my head as I don't have a mechanical background (I should of recorded the presentation so I could listen to it again, probably would help it sink in)...I don't feel that you were pushing your product at all, but rather, discussing the benefits of a properly made stroker kit and how it works. A stroker kit has been something I've been interested in for my S15, so I very much appreciated you taking your time to discuss how it all works and so on.
  19. Very much enjoyed the night, and despite my nightmare getting there, it was well worth it. It felt very special to see both the R34 Z-tune and the Skola built R34 in person.
  20. Lol. I'm heading off now, see you guys soon. I will beware of the campers on the f3
  21. .... =| Thanks for the heads up, this is not good to hear. This means many cops will be camped out on the F3 Also, should I take the M2/M7 after turning off to Hornsby..... or will it be quicker if I avoid toll roads? I will hit the Hornsby turn off at about 5ish
  22. Looking forward to this. Currently under the gun with uni assignments (have a research assignment due the 26th).... but I think I will be good to go for tomorrow. Might have to knock off a touch early from the tech night (around 8.30pm) so apologies in advance for that. Up late now to get as much done as work done as I can.
  23. This is whats doing with the next cruise ]
  24. You can just get it on the day for $50 (at the Wakefield park clubhouse thing). Takes about 10 minutes. very simple process.
