  3. Hey guys, You have probably guessed it, I am trying to get a RWC and this new law has put a halt on my car passing with its pod filter. Is there any one in Melbourne that has a air box I could borrow? Can pay you $100 or somthing or a couple boxes whatever.   9. thats sweet, I was thinking HID's were illegal, easy change over. But some how ive been thinking that pods were illegal as were fmic, I think some mechanics have mentioned that in the past, somthing about only allowed one intake modification. It sounds pretty stupid to me. I will do my best to make sure its all ligit when the time comes.
  10. My R32 is for sale, Leaving the country soon so just another thing that needs to go. Its had lots of work done to it and its kept in exellent condition. Prob the tidiest R32 ive seen. Regurally serviced and I'm always ontop of the maintenance keping it top notch. Only 2 owners in Auz including myself.   11. Yea im with Dolan, want to sell my car, surley there are the few places that are more lenient than others? I dont even know what the rules are here Are pod filters illegal? also factory return front mounts and HID's? The last owner got the RWC piss easy but that was before the big law change this year. At $200 a pop its not somthing I wana keep trying until it passes it could become quite expensive
  12. iplen lol that vid was not the one going for world record. just another well known one pushing 400+ on pump. Owner is a bit of a tool tho. Update is, the owner has put it down the strip a few times, learning how to control the beast he has cracked mid 10's with the record in sight.
  13. Today I disconnected the radiator and hoses and flushed it and the block out with heaps of water. Fitted a new thermostat. then filled it all up again. It bubbled a little but it didn't look anything out of the ordinary. at about 90 deg it started to overflow as it would. so I put the cap on and went for a quick drive around my apartment It didn't overheat once pressurised on the drive, It got to 90-92 deg (using water) Once home I noticed a constant dribble coming down the gearbox from above the starter motor. I cant see the actual place it was leaking from tho. Good news is the water pump still works and it was clean water leaking not oily water as suspected earlier, nor was the radiator bubbling or dipstick with any residue. bad news is I cannot see the leak so the manifold will need to come off, Im suspecting a heater hose. It looks like a bit of a mish to get it off and I don't have too many tools here to even consider the task ahead. Is there anyone recommended for skyline work? I dont want to take it to just any mechanic.
  14. Water pump was also another possibility that just came to mind also, so maybe that needs looking at, I wish there was a way to test it. Its just weird because the temps rarely go above 76 deg on ecu and its always run fine, then it just did this out of the blue. Water pumps dont just work 1 day and not the next do they? When I mention the hose and radiator were cold, I mean like chilled cold.. definitely not normal. Thanks for the reply

  16. Hey all My car has just given up on life today and I really need some help to hopefully get close to the cause of it... I drove it yesterday and it was fine. I drove it for 15 mins to the mall today and it spewed its guts out in the car park... Its Brown murky water that was coming out from the rear of the engine inlet side, (My coolant was pretty green last time I checked about a week or so ago) I proceeded to head home hoping it wouldn't overheat much as I live fairly close, but within 5 mins it got up to 110 deg I quickly pulled into BP and it was sizzling and steaming HEAPS where all the heater hoses are under the inlet manifold next to the block. I then opened the radiator.... Empty... Filled it up with cold water. Temp gauge said 40 deg...so I started on my way home. 1 minute down the road the temp gauge went up to 110 deg, so I pulled over again. Same thing, sizzling and steaming under the manifold. But this is the catch, the radiator was still really cold, the top hose was hot, and the bottom hose was cold.... Im hoping its a heater hose seal broken under the pressure and leaking out there, rather than the head gasket, and im guessing my thermostat is stuffed?? Does anyone have any suggestions for the cause? Also I live in Glen Iris, Melbourne, does anyone know and good skyline mechanics sort of near me.. I know RacePace is really good and Chris is pretty onto it, but Bays water is way to far in this situation... Thanks guys
  17. For over the last 5 years ive been religious to using Castrol Edge in my evos. Since owning a skyline and being apart of this forum, reading peoples "opinions" about oils... Castrol apparently is not as good as it used to be especially since BP brought them ad boosted there marketing and decreased the quality of the product..... Apparently.... So I went out and brought some AMSOIL 20w-50 Race Oil.... Its great stuff!! Its 100% Synthetic not "Fully Synthetic" as Castrol states. There is a difference. But.... My car isnt running at its best and I think the oil might be wearing a little quicker than normal. So I may of wasted my money im not sure. the price difference isnt to bad ($90 for 5L) Being 100% Syn, its alot lighter or watery than the equivalent branded "fully Syn" Im not worried about the 20w as it dosnt get cold enough in Australia to need a really low weight oil like 0w or even 5w But im running a BB turbo and I do like boosting it most days, so its important to me to have a high temp oil like 50. Basically to reply yo you... is Castrol alright? well its ok. ive never had a prob with it. but there is better stuff. The question is do you need to spend more $$$ on better quality oil? Just make sure the weights are up to what your car needs what ever brand. I might give Castrol another go next change.

  19. Would be interesting to see a dyno graph using 98 octaine, and E85 or C16 would be impressive. Curious tho... I wonder how the the graph would compare using a more quality turbo like a HKS T51R SPL or Garrett GT42... Both 1000hp turbos Tho the HKS T51r apparently spool faster than the Garrett equivalent range, HKS do use Garrett internals and have the most bad ass sounding noise but are a little out dated and cost mega $$$ Thats a twin scroll manifold, is this Precision turbo twin scroll? It doesn't say anywhere on the Precision site that it is... So surely you would want a Twin scroll turbo for quicker spool time and to match your Full Race manifold, which looks like the Garrett GT45r would be a good match

Asking $120 2- King springs, for R34. Rear. I haven't used them but was told the guard sat flush with the rim. I think they are cut. Take them away! FREE 3- R32 Throttle cable set. Longer than standard. Ready to hook up to your front facing plenum. Asking $50 including postage.
