Turbosmart Boost Tee Vs Turbtech

Yep turbosmart one sucks, mine lasted 6 months and now have a GFB which is better but is soon to be replaced with a Greddy Profec B spec 2. If I wasn't going for a EBC, would have gone the Turbotech, heard such good reports about them. -
I'm running a KS ROM ecu which has 2 maps (1 standard, 1 modified) and it works a charm, picked up a heap of mid range power.

I found the exact same thing going from 1.1 to .8 gapped plugs.

Haha, I've towed my dad's Corolla 1km up the road with my HR31, the RB20 surprised me that it could actually tow it

Had the same problem with my old turbosmart one, worked great for about half a year and then started doing what you described, took for ever to get boost in second after shifting from first. Replaced the turbosmart one with a GFB boost controller, problem solved.

I've seen this when it was a exotic getting the exhaust/plenum done, had a good look at it and it's very nice piece of work, might have to come out for a look and see all these skyline's run aswell.

Yep thats due to the standard turbo, runs out of puff just after 5000rpm on stock boost (8-9psi) and drops to around 5psi at 7000rpm, thats why you see most of them run a RB25 T3 these days. -

I believe the Nics is around 135kw compared to a silvertop 160kw. So the Nics has a little bit less power than a FJ20. -
Had the same problem with mine, worked well for 6 months then all of a sudden did the same thing yours is doing, wouldn't get full boost until 6000rpm in second after going flat out in first. Changed to a GFB boost controller and problem solved.
