  1. The orginial gtr cooler is black...if u do it right i cant see the problem
  2. I got a R32 PowerFC. Lets 2 let you guys know. It wasnt an off shelf product that you can buy like the r33 gtst power fc or the gtr power fc, it was made on demand by ap engineering (apexi engineering) so if you find one grab it as fast as you can because there rare. GTR ones can be used between r32 & r33 gtrs? can any1 confirm this but if they do, its because they have the same engine (rb26dett). were the r33 have the rb25det & the r32 have the rb20det so it is not swap able between the two cars.
  3. i dont see any advantage wasting money on cams gears for the few 5-10kw gain. To get full advantage of the cams gears are spending money on after market cams (eg. 272 degrees lift) But they do look nice on a car
  4. yes it will fit, if u dont wanna cut the front bar then u have 2 angle the bar like i did (i like the stelth look) or just cut the front bar 2 fit
  5. I always thought Cam gears were design 2 move the power transfer around. eg. move top end power to bottom end or mid range Or even moving the mid range to give more power top end, tuning it how you want it always depended on the power curve. i would imagine most people will take power from top end to increase more midrange as its more often used on the road. Correct me if im wrong though.
  6. this topic was not about bad mouthing anybody or engines, its about performance, & learning from each others knowledge so lets talk about that & not whose right or wrong. Theres are few r32s & r33 with t3/t4 & t04e turbos around doin good power, but are there any r32 or r33 owners out there with a new garrett series turbo, trust tdXX turbos or a hks unit. I would imagine they would spool alot faster then a t04, & would give better mid range. I would hate 2 have 240rwkw & turbo starts spooling around 4000rpm, even though the rb20det loves sitting around 4000-6000rpm mark i would find that hard 2 drive & abit point less & dull for a everyday fast car i think we should aim over mid range
  7. 4000rpm hmmmm what the spec of your t04e?
  8. fair enough, i dont own or know any people with r33 over 250rwkw so i cant say nothing there, but they do tend to ping pretty easy. Most of the fast r33 that you read on the mag are rb25 head rb30 bottom end. Why i said the rb25det gets a bigger power figure is because they have 500cc more then we rb20det owners, & can produce 160-170rwkw so easy with just a few mods. Once you reach above 250rwkw, people tend to break things regradless or rb20 or rb25, engineers never design the engine internals to produce that amount of power. Im a fan of the whole "RB" engine
  9. rb25 will do it so much easier then a rb20 with a full exhaust, piggy back system & 10psi they are doin 160rwkw on a dyno How did your mate fit the gtr injectors, did he get a resistor pack off a gtr or get a link ecu with the resistor pack? the ohm that the rb20 produce are to high for the gtr injectors. T3/T4 is a loose term used, its getting the best of both worlds from the 2 turbo, its a hybrid turbo. the T4 compressor wheel & the exhaust housing from a T3 to reduce the lag from a very big t04 exhaust housing eg .90
  10. just 2 let u know oddyssey batteries are not dry cell they are some sort of gel based. the only one are dry cell are optima but gel based are still good i hate battery in boot mine leaked & ate all the paint & gave it a bit of rust where the battery sat i now gotta file off & repaint the engine bay
  11. I would love to see a high performace skyline meet cruise thats all above 200rwkw+ once my t04e & a few other stuff is in (few weeks) i will be down for a cruise for sure.
  12. well ive never consider of remapping my ecu, i dont think there was a point 2 it, i wanted a power fc. has alot more maps base 2 play around with.
  13. yeah your right i forgot about those features. hehe havent taken a look at the pic for a while now. It all depends on how far you wanna go with your car. 180-190rwkw then stick with the safc
  14. Bar & Plate = cools better Tube fin = flows alot better As meggala said, why do hks, trust etc design & sell tube & fin plates?...because its way more effective on a street car then to just say a 10sec car which needs colder air. Most street cars are more designed towards mid-range torque rather then bottom or top end, & when you gunning it you need the air faster to the engine, but then again its debatable. The colder the air the slower it moves, which also adds more Pressure drop.
  15. Go for the R33 as it was design/engineered to allow more torque through it then it rather then the r32 gearbox. If it can be fitted easily then go for the r33 Hope it helps Joe.
  16. Clint, I got almost the same setup as you, your ahead of me with the z32 afm & the injectors, but i sourced a r32 power fc (did you upgrade your fuel pump) Regarding how much power you be making, well im guessing at least 240rwkw you can go even futher depending on the spec & rating of the turbo. Regarding, remaping ecu or aftermarket. Well after you installed all the mods & thats all you want 2 be done with your car then cheapest method is remapping it. est cost $700+ inc dyno time Downfall to it is that its fixed, if you wanna lets say your not happy with 250rwkw & want more & u decide to 2 some serious work to the car, eg piston, cams, porting head then you require to remap the ecu, which then total your cost of $1400+ Aftermarket. Cost from $1200+ & dyno time est $300+. Downfall is the price they are an expensive price of equipment, if your not goin over 190rwkw then forget about it go either mapping a r32 gtst ecu or buy a piggyback system. If you plan to go ahead that 190kw mark then aftermarket gives u the freedom to do so, once its tuned for your car it can easilly be retune for other features that you may want to do to the car on future stage. My Theory is done it right once & get it over & done with. Well everyonce is askin for a price, guys remember theres no such thing as cheap performance. If you have a stock car & want to be in the 200rwkw mark then heres a list that might get u there. (ball park fugure) power Cat back exhaust (for time being, will explain later) = $1200+ Larger front mount + piping = $1500+ Fuel pump = $200+ Injectors & fuel pressure regulator = $500min for injectors fuel pres reg go for around $150+ Power FC+H/C = $1200+ Boost gauge/Boost controoler = gauge $150+ controoler = $300+ z32 afm - $250+ On a r32 this will get u around 160-165rwkw only because the turbo has run out of puff, it does not mean the car cant go futher. Turbo, depending on your choice! mine would be either a small spec t04e, HKS GT series or the TD06-20G = $800-$3000 Manifold = $1500 Wastegate is up to 2....depending if you choose an internal or external turbo setup but around $500 for a 42mm wastegate. Dumpipe, $300+ get it made when u get the turbo because once you change manifold systems around & all that the seating of the new new turbo is different to the factory one, as i said why waste money on buying 2 items then doin it right the first time around. Oil lines etc - $50 Or you can pick up a turbo kit for around $1800+ which is the better buy from my point of view something around 220-250rwkw on a r32 more on a r33 Hope this give you guys a price range *note this is without labour* If i left anything out or said something wrong knock me down by all means Joe.
  17. the SAFC II is just more a cosmetic then anything else, price wise its still good, especially people are still expecting them $500+ second hand. Regarding performance wise, from lookin at the pictures, the only extra function it has are memory function holding more then 1 settings.
  18. the r32 series excluding the 4door & maybe the 4wd had the same chasis. so you can fit them on, dont know about stud paterns are the same from the r32 gtst to the gtr. btw what colour is it?...gun metal?
  19. the difference is 4mm but the design of the afm on the z32 is alot better then the rb20/25det ones. I wouldnt have a clue if the safc or the itc will allow you to run them, check the apexi site if it helps or someone else might. Couldnt help you with the piggy back items, not a major fan of them *note* the r32 r33 ecu was not design 2 run the z32 ecu & hence you will need to create a rom to allow it 2 do so, thats what im tryin 2 say
  20. just to mention If you dont have a aftermarket ecu (eg power fc) you cannot run it on a stock ecu. the airflow/voltage are wrong, & you would require a new ecu or buy a r32 ecu & edit it for the r33, if you have a r33 that is.
  21. i bought a turbo a t04e & its in good order but im still gonna give it a rebuild only because i dont want 2 be driving to work & all of a sudden something pops. It more or so wont happen in a day, week or even months but its just peice of mind & i dont want 2 be pulling out the turbo again. its just a pain in the arse.
  22. flange shape doesnt but if it had a split pulse on the flange it does! helps alot im no engineer so dont ask me how a peice of metal in the middle helps it spool and flow a bit better
  23. to be honest dont trust colour tops on rx7 injectors but trust the multi-meter
  24. RX7 injectors are really notorious they have 2 type of part numbers & are either in red or a pinkish colour (maybe from age the colour fades) Part numbers are XXXX-2020 or XXXX-1370 (i think) Funny thing is my mate has a 3SGTE & there injectors are low impedence, & one of his mates has a RX7 series 4 injectors for sale, he bought it without bring a multi-meter because the injectors came out of the s4 engine, once he got it home he tested the ohm with a multimeter & it rated at 13 ohm hence making them high impedence, just coz some say its a series 4 injectors it doesnt mean its low impedence. If you plan on buying them MAKE sure you bring a multi-meter with you when you buy it. Regarding installation, i have heard they fit stright in, but it they dont well a fuel rail dont cost much 2 buy about $100-$150 Hope it helps, Joe
  25. After thinking about moding my Plenum to the end of the plenum, i found out it was abit hard to do on a r32/RB20DET plenum as the ends/diameter to make a hole to fit the throttle body aint that big compaired to a rb25det one which can & has been done. You want the WHOLE piping in silicon? or just joints? why not just do it in alloy or something?
