  1. Thanks, went to QR for a track day last week and am not quite ready to completely remove the number from the windscreen. My wife loved your car and kept asking, "is there really a V8 in it??" I had to show her the forums and some other stuff you have written. Now she understands what you have, but not why. Dave
  2. LiAm, it depends where you live and if you find the workshop and staff to be reliable. I take my baby to Allstar Tuning at Zillmere. Richard and Daniel are good people and have never let me down. Good advice is the best PR a workshop can offer and Richard knows his stuff.
  3. I have to go to Munruben (or is that man-rubbin) on Saturday. Is that anywhere on the way to the Gold Coast from the Northside?? Otherwise, I'm keen for a drive and a feed and even a look at the Footy match. :kick:
  4. A tiny little out of the way suburb, but I know there are two 'lines in Bunya. See plenty around and hardly any of them wave or nod even. Need to raise ourselves above the Maccas crowd who just draw the heat!! Across the road at the Hypermarket carpark sounds good, you can watch the wankers from a safe distance.
  5. Damn!! If the wife gets home soon I will try and con her into going, but it will be hard!! I wish Erin had posted the salad details!!
  6. About the exhaust. I found mine sitting in a workshop while my suspension was being done (King springs and Bilsteins) It is a Invidia 3" Stainless cat-back exhaust. I had a hi-flow cat added and a Rob Bliss dump pipe made for it. I was worried about the noise but it is fairly quiet until your right foot gets busy, then the note is sweet! Cost all up was $900 including fitting. Seems the previous owner had the exhaust on his car and when it arrived it had to be removed for SEVs. When he wanted to put it back on, his wife told him NO! It is too loud!! Dave
  7. I found a new one!! My series 2 had a little mis-fortune and needed a new Throttle position sensor. These are very different between the series 1 and 2 with the 2 having a pair of wiring loom entries and the series 1 only having a single wiring harness. It pays to check before ordering from Japan!! Dave :sly:
  8. My better half has given her blessing to a front mount intercooler!! More boost here I come!! Next Christmas (unless I win Lotto!) new wheels for my baby! My motto - make it go before you make it look good! Dave :aroused:
  9. My car is dead stock as it came in under the new RAWS about six months ago. Maybe it was just the operator I got that day, but he was adament, no imports. JCI were very good and explained everything to my satisfaction and just asked that any mods done are made aware to them. Dave
  10. Also, difference in front badging. S2 chrome and on the bonnet. S1 red and on grille. (ugly) I believe the seats are uprated to retrimmed recaros in the S2 also. Love my S2!!
  11. Finding insurance sucks!! I am 39 and have been with Suncorp/Metway for 14 years of spotless driving. They wouldn't touch me!! I tried Shannons and got the same runaround about car clubs and they put me onto JCI. Still a bit steep and thankfully I live in a good suburb of Brivegas as my premium was under a grand for the first year and should be about $800 for the following year. I cannot get over the $7000 quotes for certain suburbs in Sydney!! Don't these companies realise that we take EVERY precaution to keep our cars in OUR possession!!
  12. Beautiful colour! I also have a Series 2 and having compared it to the series 1, I am sooo glad I got the S2!! So many small differences which make it worthwhile. Has it sold yet?? May have some friends in Brisvegas who might be interested.
  13. Has anyone fitted a frequency modulator? If so, where did you put it as I have been told by the importer to attach it near the aerial on the rear left of the boot! That area is soooo hard to access and you need tiny hands to get in there. Also, if I attach it close to the head unit, which power wire is the better option? Thanks for any help.
  14. The standard system is a double din setup and is OK, but you need a frequency modulator to get higher than 90 fm. Bloody hard to fit as you need to plug it into the aerial and connect it to power. Easy for the proffessionals, but not for me.
