  1. So after a bit of a hoon yesterday my car started to miss a bit... it would drive normally, and then all of a sudden it would sound like a wrx for about 10-20 seconds, then it would go away and drive fine for a few more mins. Today I took the plugs out and the white porcelain bit on one of the plugs was cracked...the rest looked all right although slightly white on the tips so I decided to go up from heat range 6 to heat range 7. Now before this my car would miss with anything bigger than a .65mm gap, so i rezised the new plugs to .65 and threw them in.... Now the car is missing at idle and sounds really fkd up.... Im going to pull them out and try them at .8 gap and see what happens, but I just wanted to see what kind of plugs everyone else is running with E85.... Im really hopping that its just plugs and not something worse... car sounds pretty shite atm....
  2. I had a very similar sounding problem... bought a new set of plugs at .8 gap and the problem was still there..bought a set of second hand yellow jackets...problem still there...bought a brand new set of splitfires...problem still there...pulled the plugs out and gapped them to.65 and the problem was gone. Try a smaller gap first.
  3. ive got the same problem....i dont see how it could be an off centre diff, It could be with a solid axle car but on skylines the diff is mounted into the subframe and cant move. Im thinking its the subframe thats out... is this possible and how would you fix this?
  4. yeah your right, you do need your CAMS licence, but that only costs $50 and you can do it on the day. Joining a club is optional, it just makes the drift days a little bit cheaper, and most of the time they are on friday nights or saturdays..
  5. I'm surprised no one had suggested coming to some drift days at eastern creek... Yeah it's a bit more to enter...about $100 but there is a wet pan that you can slide all day on and not chew up your tyres. There is plenty of people drifting autos on the wet and I've gone to about 10 drift days now and I've never broken anything on the car....apart from tyres because now I've moved onto the dry track and love smoking it up. Do a Google search for driving sports or driftmob for more info
  6. man... where is this track??!!! looks like loads of fun
  7. competition coatings did both my manifolds, both sides of my turbo, cooler piping, TB and dump pipe.... looks sick and works really well... Ive got a few lines which are really close to my dump pipe and im so supprised that they havnt melted... without the coating im sure they would have.
  8. Sounds good mate, but your gonna find that diff pretty shit for drifting..., I shimmed mine up till it almost couldn't fit back in the housing, was mad for a couple of weeks, but after that it just opened up again. They might last longer on the street, but on the track they die pretty quick. At the moment mines got a weldy in it to get me out of trouble until I can get my 2way sorted, and it is heaps better than shimming it... Just weld that sukka.
  9. The drum pump is apparently E85 safe, got it from equipco.... we will see how long it lasts, if it fails I will be asking for a new one. Not running any corrosion inhibitor, does that actually exist? tell me more....

  11. Yeah I know, it's strange because I'm only running 16psi atm with a Hypergear ss3eg with brand new splitfires
  12. So I recently put a second hand Kaaz 2 way in my car but it keeps spitting out the half shafts... I tried a new shaft with a new circlip but the problem persists... I have noticed when you look at the car from the back one wheel sticks out further than the other so I thought maybe it's pulling it out...the weird thing is it's on the side that is more tucked in. Anyone got any ideas?
  13. So I finally solved the problem!!!! Gapped the plugs to 0.63 and it's like a bat out of hell... All that money spent when all I needed was feeler gauges...
  14. Also it's only up high in the rev range and only at full throttle.
  15. Yeah it's missing on accel and sounds almost like a rev limiter with lots of little backfires.. Yeah it's a z32 afm and Toshi tuned it, we did what we could but we stopped when it was missing and I was going to go back and finish the tune once it's fixed.
  16. Also it's on e85 now running about 18psi... Are heat range 6 and 0.8 gap plugs right?
