  1. Mitch, youre taking the piss Food is our petrol, the better quality petrol you stick in your car the better it runs I'm surprised how little most understand about food, lifting weights gets all the attention because magazines show guys training. How boring if they just showed pics of guys eating porridge
  2. The fact many are on WADA's banned list indicates they offer some performance enhancement. Heres what a handful of my guys do They NEVER touch them during training but take loads prior to a meet. They all claim to get a bit out of them, but their lifting on comp day can last 5 hours Interestingly Max drops weight with them in the form of fluid
  3. I'm going to make a wild accusation and say those that get the most from PW drinks also have the worst diets. If youre eating every 2-3 hours, how can you ever have low energy?

    Squattin

You wont fix that on the internet, if you live in Perth either go to Muscle Pit and see Henry or PTC and see Dan One session will fix your problem
  5. Birds is pretty much 100% correct in his posts Its why I come across as a prick, I genuinely hate what society has become. Its superficial. You guys are all talking about choosing. Astounds me, youre not paying attention. Martin and Max, in my opinion, look better than anyone on this forum and I can guarantee, by their WR, can outlift them. Now I havent seen everyones physiques, so its a silly comment, but you get the jist. If I am to have a 1000hp GTR, does it have to look like a shitter? Pretty sure it can have nice paint and wheels yet still be fast. Sure, its harder to have both, but so more satisfying. There are only 3 rules in life 1. Be aggressive 2. Be more aggressive 3. Never be satisfied Could my guys have achieved their physique without getting stronger? Of course Could they lift as much and look like crap? Of course How good though to have a brilliant physique and be stronger, I suppose it makes them the kind of guys you want to avoid at parties when your chatting up chicks Society today is what has made these 2 standout They would be decidedly average in the 50's through to the 70's Nothing people do or dont do today surprises me, nothing. At 51, I reckon I've seen every example of person I never want my sons to be, in and out of the gym. On our car forums we mock guys with NA cars that are covered in bling. Amazing.
  6. Play with cripples, walk with a limp Your choice
  7. My preference is for a lifter to clean up his diet, not reduce calories, train very hard, and do this for at least a year. In a year you wouldnt ask that question.
  8. On the deadlift subject, I saw Ange Galati deadlift for the first time last night. He pulled 230kg which is a PB for him. Max watched intently, then told Ange he had 270kg in him, if he changed his technique. He is basically pulling conventional in a sumo stance. If Ange continues to train at PTC after his CAPO Nats prep, Max said he will get him a 700kg total. His best is 615kg but he should go around 650kg at Nats The All Time Australian Record at 75kg is 605kg by Emad Nayef. This was achieved with a very light bench of 115kg, his best is 150kg, an easy squat and no 3rd attempt dead. He was due for 660kg at Nats but his arm broke. Ange will set the All Time Record in 10 days time
  9. The newsletter that caused them to go viral was this one http://ptcfrankston.com/doc/newsletter/PTC_Newsletter_IssueNo17.html After this one got out, originally they were simply for my clients, everyone wanted to get on a mailing list I cant believe how big it is now, up to # 180, subscribers all over the world, Kenya, Russia, Netherlands, America, Ireland etc Its not my favourite, but its the one that got people to notice My favourite is this one http://ptcfrankston.com/doc/newsletter/PTC_Newsletter_IssueNo89.html No better place than a Skylines forum for that one, I love it
  10. Boz, I do have a book half written that I get people hounding me to finish.......one day. Its called "Where do you live"
  11. I've never seen Ange do pull ups, until last night I'd only ever seen him bench
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbP-kPm3sVE
  13. Ange wishes he'd squatted and deadlifted more. For those that dont know Ange has won many, many bodybuilding titles to go with his PL WR and a gold at Worlds in 2012 in Argentina He has also benched 262.5kg in the 82.5kg class equipped with a bench shirt The gold he won at Worlds was his first ever raw meet, he went 615kg in the 82.5kg class, weighing 78kg His best equipped total is 740kg@73.4kg in 2006
  14. Last night Ange squatted 205kg x 2. At Nats in Tassie he plans to go 220 squat, 210 bench and 230 dead. Thats insane lol
  15. Dont major on the minor shit Reps, sets all not important Effort and progress is As long as its a compound movement will a barbell and pushed to the limits If its 10,15 or 20 reps on the squats, it wont matter in the long run as long as the effort is 100% Its a pity that the most important part of training cant be typed out I laugh when some think PTC is some special place lol Effort
  16. http://ptcfrankston.com/doc/newsletter/PTC_Newsletter_IssueNo64.html Program is simply squat 2 x 15 bench 3 x 7 bent row 3 x 7 military press 3 x 7 SLDL 2 x 15
  17. My opinion. I love when clients do Novice comps. Every time they step on the platform they are only competing against their previous total It doesnt matter what others are doing. Here at my gym you could get very disheartened if you compared yourself to the stronger guys. The average lifter weighs between 80kg and 90kg, so you would be comparing with Martin and Max, thats counterproductive. The average lifter will not train like these two so they should not expect their results. Just beat yourself at every novice comp, I find thats the most productive way to progress.
  18. If the weight is on your toes, then the bar path is wrong, and you'll get injured If you were squatting correctly the weight will be mid foot/heel What footwear are you wearing?
  19. Weight on the toes will result in a back injury sooner or later From side on, the bar path should be mid foot/heel If it gets over the toes your going to get hurt
  20. Pat you should post up some vids so we can see what your sessions have been able to do for you, and give us a rundown on how youve trained over the past 5 years, will be good to learn from others
