  1. Gday Pat, here is something for you, an accidental 5 year study. My son Max started on my beginners program at 15, 5 years ago. It consisted of squats, bench, deads, cleans, overheads, rows and chins. He was 51kg. He has just turned 21, trains 7 days a week, weighs 90kg, squats, in competition, not gym lifts, 270kg, benches 170kg paused and deadlifts 260kg. He is 21 and has numerous World Records and Medals from World Championships. Until 2010 he trained whole body, started 2007. The base he laid training correctly from the beginning will hold him in good stead for the rest of his career. He has never ignored lifts that will be beneficial, here are a few "odd" vids
  2. I think 99% of lifters who dismiss the full body workout have never done it properly for any length of time My opinion, from training thousands of lifters, the full body workout is the best for anyone not competing in a BB sport (powerlifting, strongman, weightlifting, bodybuilding) And for those that do plan to compete at a BB sport, there is no better way to get a good base than PROPER full body workouts. The 3 best lifters I have in the gym are Martin, Max and Jack. They are the only 3 qualified for ProRawFive from PTC (men) Max did full body workouts for 2 years, Martin about the same and Jack for close to a year They are all still juniors, all 3 have WR, all 3 podiumed in Open competition at Nats. All 3 will continue to win comps when they are finally men.
  3. Dan, either is Rich Froning, he claims NOTHING, CrossFit call him the fittest man on earth Dont get f**kwits training in boxes confused with guys like Rich Froning Just like WSM announce Pudzinowski as the Worlds Strongest Man, yet he gets his ass handed to him at the Arnold Strongman every year Use your own eyes and asses an athlete, make up your own mind, dont hate Froning is awesome
  4. Rexona best athlete or whatever it was called, a few years ago Brett Dildo from Richmond won the bench press by doing 1/2 reps, not even close to his chest. When he was interviewed he said they did stacks of benching at Richmond so he felt confident It was embarrassing
  5. I honestly believe 99% of the population still hasnt worked out CrossFit is a sport, not an exercise regime, hence the $250,000 prizemoney Why does no one ask about the running technique of Billy Slater when 2 x 120kg thugs are hanging off him In competition, any competition, effort is all that matters CrossFit is a sport Rich is the best CrossFitter in the land, back to back I should add
  6. Rich Froning is a freak, just saying I watch the Crossfit World Games religiously, he is incredible Clearly there are fitter men than him, clearly there are stronger men than him and clearly there are men with better physiques But in his sport, no one can touch him. Crossfit are the ones that market the Worlds Fittest blah blah blah He is cashin cheques and snappin necks, dont hate on Rich
  7. Conor also hit them True to say the Europeans dont squat as deep as we do here in Oz, squats passed at Worlds would not pass here
  8. Men have periods?
  9. lol http://www.bodyscan.com.au/dexa-technology.php Best to book 2-3 sessions, much cheaper
  10. At 10% bodyfat women start to get problems, their periods stop etc, or become very infrequent. They start to look manly in the face. Most mistake that for being on gear. I'm talking about a true 10% on a dexa scan, not a broscience one
  11. The rule in PL is that the bar can stop but it cant go down. The bar definitely stopped on Nina, but it never went down, he calls "take it" far too soon
  12. 200kg x 10 is very good. Poor Zoran yesterday had to do 212.5kg x 8 x 3 sets. He was f**ked. A lifter cant challenge a judge birds. A coach can approach the head judge if something out of the ordinary happened. At Worlds last year I had to do so on 3 occasions. Spotters took Dan's squat before they were instructed too, he got a retake Jack hit the straps at the bottom of his squat, threw him off balance, they said he squats too low, true story. He is 6'6" The centre judge was unaware that Nina grinds her benches, had them take the bar too soon. I appealed to no avail. Check out this vid from Nats, same judge same lifter from Worlds, arm is ready to tell spotters to take the bar, luckily he didnt this time. I dont like the way he does that, anyway.....
  13. Correct, but check how low the crease in the hip is Guys with huge quads, and he has huge quads, can sometimes look like they squat high Check out his left leg, he is around 4" under parallel Its also why judges sit side on, the front judge will only rule on depth if its stupid high
  14. Not strong at all now Dan
  15. And remember that I cant be sure this was the lowest point when the pic was taken. Both boys are terrific squatters
  16. Someone else said to me he didnt think Dan Greens squats looked deep. It must be the untrained eye not knowing where to look
  17. The crease of the hip needs to be lower than the top of the knee, about 3-4" higher than this lol
  18. You should share some of your drugs around lol
  19. $10 a meal. Wow. That would cost Max $80 a day, $560pw Jesse also eats 6-7 meals a day, thats another $420pw There is no shortcut to any place worthwhile. What youre doing is not sustainable for ever, and when you need to do it yourself you wont have formed the habit. The "habit" is so crucial in long term success in anything we do. Even if you only eat 5 x day, thats $350pw to feed one guy Its not for me to tell people how to spend there money, I have wasted more than most on cars............but For $350 you could get 5kg of Porterhouse at Tasman, 5kg of chicken breast at Tasman meats, 14 large tins of Tuna, 3 dozen eggs, 1kg of bacon and have $200 left to buy fruit and veg, AND you will be developing good habits I'm sure youve worked this out and decided its easier to buy them done, just like its easier to not do 20 rep squats or to leg press instead. Dont for one minute ignore the fact these businesses are targeting the lazy, just like commercial gyms with electronic exercise equipment
