  1. I'd seen a report years ago from a lab, no connection to anyone, not one powder tested remotely close to the label, not one. It was highlighting how the industry needed regulation. Things may have changed, its unfair to group all supplement companies together. You can see whats going in, but surely the big factor is are the label claims accurate? I have no doubt some are better than others, good luck working out which one Oh, and take claims from companies directly with a grain of salt What are they going to say, its pretty good, not far off the label claims, tastes crap in water, better in milk
  2. We do isolation work, just not on calves, abs and forearms
  3. Not one of my powerlifters train calves directly, a few of the other clients do though. I reckon they may get a little work pulling and squatting, but it would be very minor. They dont train abs or forearms either
  4. Can you send me a link where an independant company sent off samples of different powders to be tested by an independant lab please. There was one done many years ago, I don't have access to it anymore. Someone purchased samples from a shop and had them tested, was very interesting. I love this shit, not because I care about supplements, but because I love the spin etc
  5. Correct. Dont think too much, simply do "more" each session, it doesnt have to be weight or reps, as long as its more. Another trick is more work in less time, not a favourite or one that I use, but if you do more work in less time you have trained harder
  6. Obviously no one can continue to add weight every session. So if your squat goes from 100kg x 20, next session you get 105kg x 16, then you aim for 17 or more and continue till you make 105kg x 20. Now, if you get 105 x 16, then the following session is 105 x 16, you havent progressed, we simply do another set Every session needs to contain one of the 3 "mores" More reps, more weight, more sets. I dont care which one, but every session needs to be progressive Any session repeated is a step backwards, your not holding your ground, youve gone backwards. This is the whole premise of our training, and why you see ordinary people lifting extraordinary weight. Do you guys really think I dont get surprised when a 65yo man deadlifts 210kg then has a knee replacement 3 days later, you wonder why I dont listen to "injured" lifters, or when a 14yo squats 170kg, or a 64kg girl deadlifts 170kg, or a 75yo man deadlift 150kg. These lifters aren't special, not even close, they just progress everytime they are in the gym. This, is the key element in training, the one most dont understand
  7. No point, Carrum Downs is 25 minutes from there. Once we moved to the new place we canned Doncaster. I have picked up a few clients from Definition 352 I have clients that live in Fitzroy that train here 5 x week, school kids that catch 2 buses from Mt Martha, around an hour, but thats why Conor squats 240kg @ 17yo It would be great to have 50 PTC Gyms, but I reckon we would struggle to find 50 good coaches
  8. My friend Gawain Johnstone owns Total Science, PTC clients training here get it for $140/5kg, been getting it since 2010 Tastes and mixes well, not sure how much it sells for on his website
  9. Dont assume everyone training at my PTC is awesome, very far from the truth
  10. I'll keep that in mind
  11. I'd love to mate, time and money hold me back
  12. December, push/pull (bench/dead) One of the biggest meets of the year
  13. Guys like Joey are everywhere, and in the most part I dont have any issues with them, but he "tried" to make the crossover but his ego didnt allow it, no problem, just dont act like your Ed Coan on FB or to your mates at my gym. I had to shut one of them down unfortunately, ugly, but it had to be done. I was very impressed by all the other 10 lifters, very sound lifting techniques, a good time was had by all. I didnt know 6 of the lifters, they told me they all hit PB's in each lift, very encouraging. Next Novice comp is October. I have the BIG BENCH in August, a bench press only event, very popular, go figure lol
  14. Alex is going to be our next gun lifter, started at 81-82kg, is now 89kg after 8 weeks. PB's were 180/140/200, went 210/160/230 yesterday His next program is for a 630kg total
  15. Interesting thing about Joey, big talker, trained at PTC for 3-4 sessions, a few of his mates lifter here, bought a crowd to watch him. A year after his first comp he comes back to see how much he's improved. Nothing, zero. Trains at FF South Yarra. I pointed out to him Alex beat him by 170kg and Jason is lighter yet still beat him by 95kg, both boys have been here about 7-8 weeks. Now wants us to do a program for him...........its not the program girlfriend. Thing is at FF he is "strong", he didnt like it here, guys in his class total 250kg more than him, pretty embarrassing, IF you have an ego. The guy is straight on FB this morning telling all his clueless friends how well he did. Guys like this dont train at PTC nor do they ever improve.
