Powersteering Rack Question R32 HCR32
Shoota_77 replied to R324u's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You can get the fittings off "Chase Bays" who are an American company. Pretty sure it's this one - https://www.chasebays.com/collections/an-fittings/products/14mm-power-steering-adapter-low-o-ring-fitting. The fitting is cheap, the postage is stupid.... They've actually got some really cool stuff on there. I just cut the end off my old one and welded on a 'weld on' AN fitting to it. You might be able to get a pipe cheap from a wreckers? Another option - https://www.streetweapons.net/products/s-chassis-power-steering-rack-an-conversion-fittings -

Ha ha!! You’re persistent! I currently have one point left on my licence so I’ll be looking for ways to be less obvious to inspector Po Po. I don’t think a bonnet exit exhaust and screamer will help me achieve my goals ?? -

Got a bit of a start on the dump. Cut the taper to fit the v-band, ground it perfectly flat (one of the (multitude) of keys to a half decent tig weld I slowly discovered doing the rest of the exhaust...) then tacked them together. Measured up the first bend off the taper and cut the end off the 90 degree bend. Because of the front mount manifold it means the turbo is on an angle so you need to go down and away from the engine at the same time. Makes it a bit trickier... I'll be cutting more off the end part way through the 90 but tacked it on and I'll work out where to cut it while it's in place. -

Hey mate, cheers for that. Your mate did a good job! I'm an absolute TIG noob so will take me ages to do what probably took him not long at all! There will be a lot of measuring, cutting and grinding and it still won't end up looking as good as yours!! Doesn't matter, as long as it works and doesn't look like cocky shit I'll be happy enough! Enjoy driving your beast, hopefully not too far away till I get to do the same with mine. -

Looks great but i think I'll be plumbing it back in as soon as possible while still following the basic principal of coming back in on a nice angle as opposed to at 90 degrees. For some reason I read my very first page of this build page and below is one comment that stood out. It's good that I know myself! That was almost 7 years ago (December 2012) I wrote that. I must have had crystal ball!!! Either that or I'm just shit at finishing things off.... -

That's super tidy @KiwiRS4T! I'm tempted to make a secondary pipe to have an atmo/screamer pipe. -

I read that post @Lithium but I didn't realise he was running Sinco too. Should be quite similar in design. I probably wasn't going to go that far back to bring the waste gate pipe back into the exhaust. Is there a preferable distance back from the turbo that works any better? I was probably thinking of bringing it back in at the bottom bend something like this- -

Hell yeah, I love it! I told the missus I was going to hang it on the wall in the living room for a few months as a work of art. Strangely enough she wasn't convinced. My 6 year old daughter told me "that's not art daddy, that's ugly"! Ha ha, bloody kids! -

Ha ha, yeah that’d work and be a whole lot easier to fab! I’d get sick of getting soot in my eyes though so I’ll persist with poking it out the back! -

Ooooooo mummy.... Just mocking it all up for now to work out how much of a nightmare the exhaust is going to be.... -

So much Sinco love ??? ha ha! The flanges are super solid, 5 year no crack warranty, can't go wrong! I must say I do rate you sheep shaggers as great fabricators! Rob from Racefab in NZ made my extended sump which is also a great piece of workmanship. Some very talented and alternate thinking guys there. While I'm throwing out the compliments it's a bloody beautiful country. If anyone reading this (all 3 of you ??) hasn't been then get your arse over there, it's stunning at every angle. Queenstown is one of my favourite parts of the world. Right, enough love, time for an NZ joke to square things up... -

Sounds good! Glad to hear you're happy with yours. I liked the design of the Sinco over the 6Boost the way they run full split wastegates (one pipe off each half of the manifold then merging into one and even once merged it's still split all the way to the wastegate valve face. Shouldn't lose any of the split pulse benefits that way. I have zero doubt that the 6Boost would still do an amazing job but decided to go this way for something a bit different! -

My Sinco manifold arrived today. Took a bit longer than I'd hoped but I must say it's a work of art. Hopefully it works as well as it looks! Hopefully get cracking on it this weekend. The aim is to get the car back on the road for the first time in 6 1/2 years by Christmas. So effing pumped to get this nugget on the road again! -

R33 GTR - things to consider when buying new rims?
Shoota_77 replied to sonic99's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Wheel preference is like arseholes and opinions. Everyone has one of each and they’re all somewhat different to everyone else’s! Don’t take this the wrong way but who cares what everyone else likes, go with what you like. Google “R33 wheels” and hunt for days! In terms of dos and donts just make sure fitment is spot on ie wheels flush with the guards, they fit your brakes and the rest is just what you like. -

Still waiting for my manifold to turn up so in the meantime I decided to change my power steering high pressure hose to AN fittings. No real purpose, just cleans it up a bit and gives a bit more room in front of the radiator for thermos. Took me a few goes (my tig skills are horrible....) due to the thin material of the pipe. Came up ok in the end. Just waiting on more AN6 hose to finish it off. Did a few practice stainless welds to get my eye back in for when I make the turbo dump and wastegate pipes over the next few weeks. Bit rusty but will do the job! The photo is after a bit on the wire wheel. I wish they looked that good instantly but I'll need to refer to Instagram for that... -

Pretty sure they do an alloy core but getting iron core meant getting one straight away. No real advantage apart from a bit of weight anyway. Iron should be more heat resilient too. -

There she is. What a beautiful sight to behold! The turbine housing has been bolted on upside but don't worry about that! ?? I desperately want my manifold to arrive now but it's yet to be finished so still a few weeks off -

EFR8474 ordered, arriving this week but manifold a few weeks/a month away. Aiming for results before Christmas (RB30/26 (9.5:1 comp), Sinco manifold, 60mm Powergate, 4" exhaust, E85, water/meth injection(if I get around to installing it...). Hopefully should be a response monster!
