  1. Guys/Gals; I've got some seats that I want to trial fit into my car but don't have Recaro rails. Can anyone help me out with a set to try, or better still buy, please? Cheers 0402 837 117
  2. mac; are you sure it's not running out of droop ?
  3. Do you have either LMGT1 or LMGT2 to suit R33 GTR? 17x9 or 18x9. Thanks
  4. Umm...one has breaks in it and the other one doesn't....oh yeah, I see now. As stated, no overtaking or crossing unbroken lines. If you are side by side as in the example you've given then you're on the wrong side of the road but you can have a dual carriageway (two lanes heading the same way) separated from oncoming traffic by an unbroken line as is usually the case with overtaking lanes. I'd suggest getting onto the relevant website, sometimes they can be funny about little nuances in the wording of thier questions and what they expect you to be able to produce.
  5. Thanks, good job. I know it can be done but...as you said...a fair bit of f**kein around'.
  6. Duncan; Thanks mate I'm keen to know. Predator; They sure are an expensive proposition when you add everything up. And to think that of you want to keep them when you sell the car you're up for another $600 outlay each time. I agree with you about the 'universal rails' and with Duncan about using the orginal rails -not going there. Have been looking at retrim options for my original GTR seats but have come across a very cheap set of leather Recaros so considering using them. Didn't really believe what Ideal Seat told me (see above) but if it's true then either people are prepared to pay a hell of a lot for Recaros or they're not selling many. Cheers guys
  7. I'm also interested in the interior if it's in really good shape. 0402 837 117.
  8. Anyone been to Star City lately? There's a red 360 Modena usually parked where the valet drop off is. Owned by the guy that lives in the Penthouse there, old guy with a g/f prob half his age. Make that 1/3. He gives this 360 heaps when he goes, absolute gutsfull.
  9. i know what you mean but the problem is that the base frame on the GTR seat is one peice with the sliders and the seat base itself ie the part the cushion sits in. i can't really remove the seat base without wrecking it.
  10. Whoa, nice. Me thinkee many dolla.
  11. Ah yes, the plastic shrinkage issue. Make that 'farking plastic shrinkage issue'. I have not been able to find a trimmer that can either repair the dash/window surround or recover them in a similar grain. New window surrounds are only about $300 new from Nissan, a new dash is about $1200. Recovering the dash is about $500 but then you have to redo the rest of the interior. It's a shite sandwich either way but as femno said you can get them with good dashes.
  12. Hi there; I have two Recaro seats with sliders. I need the base frame adapters that go under the seat/sliders so I can bolt the whole thing to the floor of an R32 GTR. Ideal Seat Co, the Recaro agents, tell me that you can only buy the combined slider/adapter units for $300 each as Recaro no longer supply just the car-specific base frames. This doesn't sound right to me. That would mean that if you want to keep your Recaro seats and move them to another car you're immediately up for $600; buying them second hand is hard, ever tried to find used base frame adapters for Recaros in Australia? The ones in Japan end up being as expensive as buying them here. It also means that all of those Recaro seats floating around that have sliders attached but no base frame adapter need to have an extra $300 each spent on them. Last enquiry I made suggested that to get base frames made was going to cost $300 plus $400 for an engineer's cert. Anyone else faced this problem? Regards
  13. Mate that's a good question, presumably if you set the ebc at 12 psi and the wg at 11psi you'd have an ideal arrangement but I see your point re how much difference is ok to run with - why mess with another peice of adj kit if you don't have to. Hopefully the learned one (TLO) will surface soon... Cheers
  14. Didn't Sydneykid write something about how to use an adj actuator and ebc together properly? Found it: A boost controller solenoid works by opening (bypassing) and closing rapidly to limit the boost the wategate actuator sees. So you can have say 15 psi but the wastegate actuator only gets say 10 psi. The boost controller also works when you are trying to steepen up the boost curve by keeping the wastegate shut longer. Some are rated at 10 psi but start opening at 5 psi, some people call this \"boost creep\" which is not strictly technically correct. The problem with all boost controllers happens when you have a big difference between the initial opening psi of the wastegate actuator (say 5 psi) and the boost controller (say 15 psi). The solenoid has to work very hard to bypass this much pressure. What we have found works well is to increase the pressure of the wastegate actuator. A stronger spring, lengthening the actuator rod, spacing the actuator away from the turbo body or using a higher psi wastegate actuator (eg; a RB20DET actuator on an RB25DET) all achieve this. If the wastegtate actuator is now say 10 psi, this means the solenoid (still 15 psi) only has to bypass half as much. This results in much better accuracy of boost control.
  15. Tried Ferodo DS 2500 or 3000s ? Call Barry Smith Motorsport / Performance Friction in the ACT.
  16. Since when does PFC have an input for engine knock? I'll fit mine right now if it does.
  17. Last Night; Grey R32 GTR (gold wheels with polished lip) and black 4dr R33 at ALIVE! Cheers
  18. the search engine is your friend. sydneykid has posted a lot of info on bp vs tf coolers etc. to answer your questions we have to know what you want to use the car for, what mods you intend etc. sorry but that's the start point.
  19. balancing is prob worth looking into
  20. I bet his name is Andrew.
  21. have a look at your lower gearstick boot. they usually all split after a time and when mine did i'd occasionally get a putrid smell in the cabin. glued it up with some inner tube and it went away. was truly foul though.
  22. if you're interested there's an R33 GTR with R34 front end on ebay.
  23. Does anyone know exactly where the earths are on an R32 GTR? I know there's battery / chassis and engine / chassis but I think there are other major ones also.
  24. SK have you got any pics of the installation so we can see what's involved. Where can you buy these things second hand and where can you get them checked out? Are they suitable for street driving?
  25. email sent re front and rear seats
