if you have the stock air flow meter you'll be wearing this out prematurely...they don't usually like to measure the coolness of anything but air.

Rb26 Catch Can Install - Confirmation
Badgaz replied to PSIKO's topic in Forced Induction Performance
why not just run both to the catch can? and plug up the intake? this will stop your oil vapour being recirculated through your intake and making everything dirty and lowering your power....not sure if its legal tegal to do this in WA though. -
if its coming from your turbo area and your mechanic has checked the turbo shaft play then i'd suggest it could be a gasket leaking...either the turbo to exhaust manifold gasket or the manifold gasket itself...what noise is it making?
-
you can run stable afrs and still detonate....

Rb20Det + Upgrades Do I Need Injectors?
Badgaz replied to rx-line's topic in Forced Induction Performance
oh and its completely illegal...and the obvious venting of noxious gases directly under your vehicle.....but don't let those go to your brain. -
Rb20Det + Upgrades Do I Need Injectors?
Badgaz replied to rx-line's topic in Forced Induction Performance
an atmospheric gate pipe is a certain fire risk...might sound cool but its a stupid idea. you might have to check to see how mines have modified the ECU....if the chip can be removed easily...then you might be able to change it to nistune easy enough. -
what size are your injectors? and is your FPR standard?

Anybody using Total lubricants quartz 7000? 10w40 i'm about to try it.
-
mine does this when its cold however my turbo is not stock...is yours stock or have you changed anything that could contribute to the noise? i've not worried about mine...it doesn't seem to affect performance....its a journal bearing turbo.

Rb25 + Gt3076R & Mods, Made Low Power On Dyno Tune Why?
Badgaz replied to DriftSquad's topic in Forced Induction Performance
i mean 'taking a guess' that your problems are due to a smaller a/r turbine, without using some evidence and fact. -
Rb25 + Gt3076R & Mods, Made Low Power On Dyno Tune Why?
Badgaz replied to DriftSquad's topic in Forced Induction Performance
its probably a slightly larger than stock A/R because of the machining...but it is the 'stock' one. -

not confused, i guess i just agree with guilt toy...changing an exhaust housing at a guess can be an expensive exercise. -
Rb25 + Gt3076R & Mods, Made Low Power On Dyno Tune Why?
Badgaz replied to DriftSquad's topic in Forced Induction Performance
nah not stock...just stock housings, replaced the turbine with stage 1 t3 with a 10 degree back cut. the core is now garret type and the front housing machined out as far as it will go to fit as large as i could fit wheel in it...56mm inducer from memory....it was a long time ago. -
nothing to worry about...just give the aac valve a clean everynow and then...check for vacuum leaks too.
-
thats hicas....ecr33 is an rb25det turbo chassis.

Rb25 + Gt3076R & Mods, Made Low Power On Dyno Tune Why?
Badgaz replied to DriftSquad's topic in Forced Induction Performance
i'm not sure why there is all this talk of the turbine a/r...i'm still running the stock 0.46 and making around 240-260kw. -
Rb25 + Gt3076R & Mods, Made Low Power On Dyno Tune Why?
Badgaz replied to DriftSquad's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Yeah ^^ what he said. I'm lucky enough to have a good friend of mine who tunes cars for a hobby. he has taught me the basics with my powerfc....you can do everything a tuner does on the road, sticking to the speed limit of course all you need is your mate in the passenger seat, wideband o2 sensor up the pipe, a link knock detector and laptop with relevant software...logs some driving (drive the way you normally would) check logs and adjust maps as necessary. -

check for boost leaks using the old baked bean can trick and use an air compressor to pressurize the intake...squirt all joins and hoses with soapy water and look for bubbles....you might be dropping boost at high boost because a hose is splitting at high boost.... just a word of warning...be careful how you cap the intake...i nearly took my hand off with a baked bean can when i was too liberal with the air compressor....(2bar) -
Boost Drop At High Rpm. R33 Gtst.
Badgaz replied to big fat paulie's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Just to add I had a similar problem and found out I had reconnected my boost controller solenoid the wrong way round... Exhibited the same behavior. -
My Rb25Det Problem Child. 5000Rpm And Vct
Badgaz replied to benji-nz's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Get new looms plugs and ecus at www.rbparts.co.nz ...... Plugs should be gapped 0.8mm they are usually the cause of this problem. -
Scrap that... I thought the standard base map could be swapped out.... But I don't think it can. Someone who knows alot more might know.

Odd Knock Reading Powerfc Rb25Det
Badgaz replied to menthol369's topic in Forced Induction Performance
just remember that a bad batch of fuel can give you bad knock.....if its constant...worry...try putting some fresh high octane in it... -
perhaps the powerfc has had the base map changed to the 1 bar base map? i'm not sure if a initialisation will wipe this setting.
-
aac valve... clean that.... for the stalling are you running a z32 maf? check your afm voltage on your commander... maximum voltage out put is 5v.... if you hit that before full power then that could be your problem.... it was on mine when running higher boost.
