so he'll be able to pickup a cheap 2nd hand powerfc for the price of a nistune....seeing as so many people a ditching there powerfc's and going that way. otherwise he will up the boost and have fun with R+R given he has a highflowed turbo. -

i tried to run the moroso pcv vent flutes that use the exhaust gases to create vacuum to vent crank case pressure...this failed...and created a rather smokey exhaust. then made an integrated oil catch can/window washer reservoir which i've had on since...only problem is that the breathers need to equalize the pressure going in otherwise your filter/filters will clog with oil...especially if your oil air separation does not work too well...like mine. -
maybe one of your valve springs is sad when it gets hot?

I did wonder why this is? is that because the duration between each compression stroke is effectively shorter? -
really? i didn't know that? and my car has been going through warrant testing fine? is it new vehicle compliance or a requirement on all vehicles? i'd be keen to pop along to the friday night meet when i get my P.O.S chinese intercooler sorted.

^^lol i'm from nz and use ebay haha if you are in NZ why are you running a CAT? ditch it. you don't need to change head gasket and you do not need a Fuel pressure reg. i'd recommend deutschwerks 320lph pump and there 550cc or larger injectors with a powerfc or link.

seems like quite a few people are changing out of powerfc's....you could pick one of those up cheap enough second hand. 550cc injectors should get you there.

thanks good advice. I have had a sneaking feeling about the pump and the coil loom is brittle as Hell...to the point where some of the plastic clips have broken. as far as fuel pumps go...what is the recommendation these days? aem, walbro or deutschwerks

i also have a z32 afm and powerfc. the plugs i had in before these ones were pfr6g gapped to 0.8mm. its cheap enough to try the bcp's i suppose. the problem started on the pfr6g's which is one reason why i went the heat range colder.

I have split fires, and NGK bkr7eix new plugs gapped at 0.8mm, i've also set my dwell time to that of a factory GTR. I haven't done the ignitor yet and i was reading around that re-doing the earths for the coil loom is a good thing to do. I'm pushing 16psi through a factory highflowed turbo. jeez hope its not one my coils...they're fekin expensive.

I have an intermittent problem.....occasionally when i launch 1st gear and hit the limiter then dump and go WOT in 2nd gear i get what feels like a missfire...but by the middle of third gear it goes i keep my foot up it. I'm wondering if this could be a fuel problem instead of ignition? i don't get knock when this is happening but i've not had a wideband on when its done it. i'm up to the last simple thing to try and correct it which is reduce spark plug gap to 0.6mm thought i might try changing the coil pack loom and check the ignitor...any thoughts?

a shame you're in sydney...could've just come over and gone for a drive with the datalogit. i'd recommend getting one if you want to start learning to tune. i think they are cheap enough these days....i bought an old one of a mate. I pulled a little bit of timing out. if you graph the values you can often see the troughs and peaks that need smoothing out. if you pm me your ign map i'll wack it into datalogit and produce the graph and see how it looks. These motors are usually quite linear....but again fueling has to match.
