Hey guys, attached are some pics of my new POD setup (GF got me the filter for xmas, now that's a women =D )

Just curious to hear/see what others are doing as the car feels a bit more sluggish during the day but better when it's cold, due to heat soak I imagine during the day. I got given some heat shield foam for free when I bought that heat shield so wrapped the intake cooler pipe as well, not idea if that will make any difference or not.

Please forgive my K & N sticker rice, I wanted to put it on somewhere =D Half tried to hide it.

Heh, I thought I might get a few questioms about that. I bought it from a seller on these forums who I think got it from the yahoo auctions. All the instructions are in Jap. It looks great but I'm a bit dubious as to how well it actually shields ^-^

Is is actually carbon fibre or is it steel mesh, coz if its steel mest it wont shield at all however i do believe that carbon fibre is ok, correct me if i'm wrong anyone.

The material itself appears to be fibreglass with a CF layer on the visible portions.

My shield aside, I was hoping to get some pics and thoughts on how others are doing there setups as I was wanting to run another cold air duct from somewhere =)

LoL  Guys the point of this thread was to get some pics/ideas from others about how they are feeding cold air and protecting from heat. In regards to my shield, I'd hope you could clearly see from the pics that the flat portion of the shield is FAR too wide and would protrude outside the engine bay area if it was on the way you are suggesting. For reference, I did try this, as I originally thought I'd put it on backwards myself, it does not fit the other way round and the air snorkel does not come close to the pre-made hole for it. I've also got a pic from the instructions below that shows how the finished product should look.

Cheers :)

Yeah and even though I have this setup, I'd still agree with you. The shield was cheap and I love the way it looks so yeah, had to go for it. I'm keen to get some more cold air flow in that area though, how is everyone else getting there cold air in?

From the diagram, it looks like the main purpose is to shield the air coming from the snorkel from hot air in the engine bay.

I remember that someone once said the ideal conditions for a pod filter is to take in air from all directions which you impede by enclosing a pod. This design seems to follow those principles...

..or maybe I'm just talkin nonsense! :)

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
