no need to sign it nemore guys, it has been confirmed lakeside is beeing re-opened as a historic and club racing circuit....

Where can I read about this re-opening ???

I have read the EOI and it looked to me like just another step in the process of closing it down, the existing site reports contained in the document indicated to me that sh*tloads of money would need to be spent to make it a viable option to re-open

I want it open .. only 10 minutes up the road from my place

I didn't know the EOI was part of the condition of an agreement with QLD Heritage Council to have Lakeside's Heritage protection removed until I looked into it further. I thought the EOI was as Council stated - looking for interested parties to run the facility for the communities use.

This is the actual state of affairs at the moment, and it's not terribly promising:

The QHC (QLD Heritage Council) made an agreement with PRSC (Pine Rivers Shire Council) in the Planning and Environment Court of QLD, to deregister Lakeside Raceway from the Heritage Listing in order to help PRSC find a suitable use for this site with the community.

There were a number of conditions to this agreement, including a deadline for PRSC to seek expressions of interest from the comunity as to its future use. That has happened now, and PRSC have until the 29th of March to advise QHC in writing of the outcome of the EOI process. So we will soon hear more about it from QHC and/or LMRE (lakeside MOtor Racing Enthusiasts).

There is unfortunately no commitment in the agreement from PRSC to actually take any action after the EOI, to actually give the community the use of the facility as per the spirit of the agreement. And the site is only protected until May 2010 at this stage.

So any re-opening is by no means guaranteed, and wether it would include motorsport use if it does re-open is also not guaranteed.

:P

ill stand by my comment im sorry you guys dont believe me but there is no reason y i would lie or post up bs information.

They are in the final stages and all they basically have left to do is decide on a tender to run the track. I have my sources take what u like from that.

maybe you should have a read of the agreement PRSC signed with QHC in the Planning and Environment Court. This was the outcome of PRSC appealing the heritage listing of Lakeside.http://www.lakesideraceway.com/p&e_court_agreement.htm

Yes there was an EOI which just closed, but that was a requirement of this agreement PRSC signed to get Lakeside off the Heritage Register. They HAD to do it to achieve their goal of getting the protection lifted from the site. Now that they have done that, there is absolutely nothing binding PRSC to do anything more than that, apart from advise the QHC of the outcome of the EOI process by 29th of March.

I hope you are right and that it is about to re-open, but the fact is PRSC bought the place to shut it down, and have never even showed any interest, let alone made any commitment, to re-opening it for motorsport.

Call me a cynic, but I think now that PRSC have completed their obligations under the agreement, and have won their appeal to have Lakeside removed from the Heritage register, they can get on withthe business of closing the place down. And in 4 years time they can take the bulldozers in.

I know a few people around the place on CAMS State Council, in PRSC, in the Historic Racing Car Club etc, and I haven't heard any rumours of this re-opening being imminent.

    • We have a huge update coming in the next few months, version 5 of Invision will be released. I'm holding off any changes until after this change as I'm not sure what features will be removed or introduced.
    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
