yeah Willaims have lost form no doubt-but they represent something the big factory teams dont-real racers who follow a great leader (Frank) bit like Ferrari b4 they were bought by Fiat in 1969. Ive always had a soft spot for them for that reason. Renault(the company-not the team) are only there for the exposure and world advertising value-They own a large chunk of Nissan to , and look whats happened to Nissan since-boring NA cars for the masses-no heart and soul left in Nissan thanks to renault :P

i think there is no doubt that the williams is fast this year. not championship winning, but good enough to be on the podium. webber is driving bloody well, he just cant get the reliabilty he needs to finish races and score points....

Who are the Top 3 teams?

Ok Renault & Ferrari. But Honda or McLaren? Id say Williams desrve the title of 3rd quickest car, just that reliability is hurting.

That said...Ferrari are lookign good after practice...fancy beign quicker then the 3rd drivers of BMW, Williams and Honda int he first practice session :D

I believe the top 3 teams are Ferrari, Renault and McLaren (just having an average year so far).

Williams look promising in almost every race for a 3rd-5th place but either a driver or mechanical fault puts them out of the race. I'd rather Williams finish 12th in every single race for an entire season than hammer around in 5th for 15 laps then pull out with a mechanical fault.

On another note, I believe the points system should be extended to 12th place. A driver could finish 12th in every single race of an entire season and get 0 points yet Webber could finish 8th in 1 race then crash every other race yet still be higher in the championship table, how is that fair? Maybe this extension could apply in 2008 when the extra team starts up...

thats why the old system was good. the best team was really well rewarded with 4 points over their closest rival in 2nd place. renault seemed to settle into a 2nd place 'rythm' towards the end of last year. was a little disappointing....

well as wrapped as i am that renault just smashed ferrari into a million pieces, let me be the first to say....

ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz.....

interesting theory you have there....the race i was watching ferrari finished 2nd...in front of the other renault....really smashed them.........

Hey "c-jet "which team you going to go for when Renault have their first bad season and leave F1
i cant wait to see ctjet's posts next year when alonso leaves renault....and everyones on bridgestones...

im always going to be a Mclaren fan.... but anyone who belittles Ferrari is A-ok in my book!!

i love giving it to Ferrari fans... hahahahaha.... they all take it so personally, you won for 5 years straight!! lost one race here copped a shit stir and couldnt help yourself

its all fun and games people

lol, i didnt see 1 ferrari fan post a word mate....real ferrari fans (like myself) followed them before they started dominating, and still follow them now...alonso is a great driver, and his team is hooked up at the moment. no one team can rule for ever.

when alonso leaves, and all the teams are on bridgestones, we'll see where renault end up...

you dont have to justify your ferrari fan status to me.... its like me saying i've hated ferrari since before they dominated... do you care?

not just you internet poeple, think outside the box for a couple seconds.... I been giving it to ALL ferrari poofs out there!! last week at work i had to cop it sweet, but i dont mind, cause its fun!! This week i rock up to work and suddenly certain people were very quiet. But they shall not escape my unrelenting ridicuel and finger pointing!! hahahahahahahaha

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
