well what a boring ass race. the first 10 mins were great. the rest was a bit ho-hum. good to see MS punish them just like the good ol days, but a shame massa couldn't do his job properly which meant MS only takes 2 points away from sanchez. that sucks.

webber. well no comment there. his season is going no where. badly in need of a new car/new team.

I agree - first lap aside, that was one of the most boring races of the season (bad trend developing here...the last few races have been similar).

Highlights of the race...

1) Jenson Button talking up his great race pace in an interview after getting to a fantastic 12th place before retiring (despite the fact that the majority of people he passed were parked in a pit garage) - what an idiot!

2) Next to no mention of Jenson Button during the race.

I feel sorry for Webber. The guy is trying hard and clearly outperforming the car and yet he still can't finish a race in that Williams shitbox. It's sad, but Williams are on a fast track to the F1 scrap heap the way they're going - they couldn't even match the pace of the Torro Rosso's during the majority of the race which is just plain embarassing really.

I just hope for Webber's sake that he gets a seat with a decent team for next year to allow him to demonstrate his true potential as I doubt Williams will be competitive any time soon (if ever again!).

Is his contract up next year?

William's option over Webber ends in two weeks, so he is open to go elsewhere if they dont sign him up. But thinking about it, what seat will he realistically get? Ppl say Renault, but i just dont know. Thiessen loves him from their time at Williams, so could replace JV. There is a seat at McLaren, i dont know there are a few seats around, but im a bit concerned if Williams dont retain his services then Webber may lose out in the musical chairs that will be what is Kimi and MS doing

that would be a dream come true. he would never win a world championship as a no.2 ferrari driver but he would certainly be on for some wins. i reckon he would make a good team mate for MS too. plus they both have massive jaws. match made in heaven.

yeah troy i'm a bit worried too as everyone will be watching to see what happens with MS and kimi, but i think MS will come back next year in ferrari and kimi will stay at mclaren or maybe move to renault. it's a bit hard to guess though. i'd love to see webber in a ferarri or big mac or even god help us a renault.

So Flavio doesnt want Webber in the Renault...that tells me something.

You would have to think that Flavio has his paws in Kimi, just to piss Ron Dennis off no doubt :)

There is some talk around that Frank wanted Montoya back at Williams because he could have gotten him pretty cheap. With Wurz and Rosberg at Williams in 2007, Frank stands to save a fair wad of money, as a stalling point for signing Webber has been the scheduled pay increase if his 3rd year option was taken up.

So its not unimaginable that Frank spends the money on engineering when he has two very capable drivers in Wurz and Rosberg...so with Renault wanting Kimi, and most likely to get him, where does that leave Webber?

Red Bull and BMW?????? Most likely BMW as MT rates him highly, but then again if Flavio can swing a Renault engine deal the way of Red Bull then perhaps Webber can get a foot on the door with his old team, a team whom he got a long with really well from the Jaguar days

FUX0R. I was so hopinhg webber could pull together a deal with renault, or mac or fezza. this year of all years held the best opportunity. with alonso moving, juan leaving a seat free, schui not having a rock solid wing man... all those things told me this was webbers best shot at a big dollar big team big budget drive... instead we get another year with the sheltered workshop at grove.

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
