hay mate you would have to contact garrett direct. i have only rebuilt them on trucks and we use a new cartridge and clean, blast and crack test the snails. unless you have the facilities to dynamically ballance the cartridge once you have assembled it is going to be a time bomb.

cheers,

Hi,

I have a Hi-Flowed R33 GTS-T Turbo which has only minor bush wear - can anyone tell me where to obtain a Turbo Rebuild Kit  - bearings, seals, gaskets, thrust bearings etc

Thanks

I appreciate your comments - there is a great deal of debate on balancing - one way to balance the turbine wheel and shaft and compressor wheel as a single unit. The other way is to balance the turbine wheel and shaft and the compressor wheel individually. You can usually tell by the shape of the compressor nut. If the nut appaers to be ground down then the turbine wheel shaft and compressor wheel were balanced together. If the nut is not ground down but then are light grinding areas on the back of the compressor wheel, then it most likely that the wheels were balanced individually. If the wheels were ground individually then it is not necessary to assemble them in the same relative locations.

In my case this is how this turbo was balanced and has probably only done limited kms since it was hi-flowed. Many think that rebuilding a Turbo is overwhelming, but if you take your time, use common sense it is fairly easy.

You said to try Garret - where are they located??

Thanks Champ
