ok so i see that everyone hates chrome mags... bar like one or two...

i stand by the "it depends on the car as a whole"....

my car makes 301.2rwkw on ultimate, and still has the looks, so id b a little more careful before saying all show no go...

lol... personally i like chrome mags on black cars but i guess thats the hotrod side of me... growing up around all that stuff...

but i like the show look... i love performance but if you know you have it then you dont have anything to proove... my thoughts with mine was eventually turn it into a bit of a show car get some air brushing "pimpn" mags maybe... thoughts ive had over night... could change by tomorrow lol.

Not trying to be picky here but, both the dyno printout of 302rwkw and the shiny rims fall into the 'show' category. Both are displayed by ways of a picture. A dyno is only a tuning tool afterall to enable you to 'go' better. Having said that you might have a timeslip or two to shut up the performance critics ( I'm not one by the way).

Nothing wrong with liking your car to look good the way you see it.

Rim weight is one area you can pick up a fair whack of extra performance. The right wheel offset is also worth thinking about to optimise handling. A good forged rim of the right offset can really transform the way your car drives.

Also a good set of unusual rims like your 20 inch chromies can transform the look of your car to something unique.

People have to decide on what they like more. To some exent there is alot of choice in the forged wheel market , but the large diameter chrome finish is usually associated with rather heavy castings ,poor offsets and compromised tyre performance (perhaps to extents that don't matter if your not driving your car anywhere near 10 tenths.

i like the best of both worlds. i currently have a set of 17" rims on it, for handling, but for cruises and " pickn up", the 20s work a treat.lol

i like show... need lots of money for it, but hey...

my theory is if you know what ya car is capible of then you dont HAVE to proove anything...

my thoughts though

More fun for all concerned if you do though (on the appropriate track).

Why else would you buy a skyline?

lol by all means i will have my fun... dont get me wrong. i guess growing up around hot rods and old skool cars has taught me that you dont have to floor it everywhere to proove anything...

and despite that ive wanted a skyline since i before i can remember... converted commodore girl back when i was a wee takka lol... about 12 lol.

Hey danielson, your hanging aroud this thread like it was your own (trying to defend the "chromies look great" arguement) I stand by chrome rims look way too bling for a skyline, its needs to be as sophisticated and you shouldn't be able to see your face in it :P.

As someone said, NEVER put chromies on a skyline, it ruins everything skylines stand for. If you want chrome rims, buy an American car.

Being young like yourself and having a fair bit of power, 20" rims (not cheap) and an bright orange respray you probably get the old "rich parents" comment alot too.

Skylines -- stick to black, white, charcoal, bronze etc...which are usually portrayed by the name brands like Rays Engineering and Volk etc..

Stay clear from Dolce and Lexani....yuk!

lol...

i think 20inch is a bit much personally.. but i dont mind chrome rims i mean yeah... *looks over to dad* his fault...

not to mention the ones that i really want come 3 piece and i dont really want that plus they jump by about 300 more each than what these ones are and the silicon wears out in the joints and then ya rim starts to leak air etc... (done homework)

2-3 piece are for racing... im not racing every day(only on occasions lol)

    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
    • Probably. I take it that they are also mentioned to be for R34 Skyline? For example.... RDA has that part as RDA7957. I have the dimpled and slotted version of that on my car https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285518478694?srsltid=AfmBOopKxMuAFpsxZJdB1cam4D5RAj1f9yJyOttPZLAwXVNCOiwlhrIy This is DBA's top one piece equivalent https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364246686631?srsltid=AfmBOorbb0XHQgqTvZLgQPhg70nqJtGvdojKnugum3O2LFSr2h-obp8D
