I had to go to the post office earlier today and went down the road to the local westfield in figtree (it is in wollongong). I was no more than 15 minutes inside the centre when i returned to my car and saw that just behind the back right wheel some idiot scraped his car down the side of mine.

Now i usually park as straight as i can right in the middle of the parking spot as i dont want any people to hit my doors with theirs. Now it looks like i have to worry about people not knowing how to reverse out of a spot.

Seriously, it is very frustrating. Some drivers must judge the amount of space they have left by saying, "when i hear a thud or a grinding noise i know thats when i have enough room, but what the hell, i'll keep going anyway."

Damage isn't as bad as it could of been i suppose. Good thing my uncle is a panel beater and owns his own shop so he can fix it back up at a low price (cost if materials and here is a case of beer sort of thing for your time).

Ive considered that, but then i read a few comments some guys posted and they said that they get targeted for taking up 2 spaces. :s

You can't win.

yeh your probably more likely to get your car keyed by taking up to spaces. First time I ever took my line to a shopping center some one reversed into when leaving and chipped a little bit out of my rear bar.. and 2 hours proir to that some one reveresed into smashing my reverse light <_<

Some old fart reversed into my fiancee's car today. She was standing right next to the car when it happened and started yelling at him to stop but he was off in old man's land and just ignored her. I try to avoid car parks.

I have the same scrape on the rear wheel arch of the Zed.

Happened in the carpark at work and the black paint on the bumper of a 4wd that often parks next to me gave a pretty good indication of who might have been responsible.

Funnily enough they haven't responded to the note I left on their windscreen saying I think they might have "accidently" touch parked me.

U think thats bad

i work at Castle Hill RSL and ive been hit 3 times in 1 month since i have started working there

First time was my front guard was dented in, then my rear drivers side quarter panel got dented in with a long scrape and 2 days ago my front bar got 3 large scrapes along the side and is almost falling off

there are cameras in the carpark but they cant tell who actually does the damage

Extremly frustrating......i goto work to earn money ...to pay for the damage that i get from working

Ps. i always park in the middle on the lines and infront of cameras

Anyone know what i can do????

damn skyline17, i think your best bet would be to park on the street or possibly buy a sh*tbox runaround car thats not worth much and is also something you dont really car about if something were to happen to it.

Or get a couple of witches hats and put a couple in the spaces next to you.

Bottom line is some carparks are not for people who actually value their car.

Other option is to always park next to cars more expensive than your own :P

that's what I do.. same goes for detering theives... park next to cars better than yours so they take them instead

I've been to about 25 shopping centres in the past few weeks for work, and the amount of dodgy driving and parking that goes on during hte day, you'd be astonished at some of the shit I've seen!

If your parking in shopping centers that have multi storeys, pick a very large pole to park next too... Park one sie as close as possible to that pole, so the person who parks next to you can swing there door open a little more, and the pole will protect at least the other side of your car.

Thats what I usually do and seems to be working quite well.

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
