Hey guys,

Just looking for some spec's info on the R32 (no GTR's plz). If there are any threads that cover this could you plz also give me the linky.

I'm thinking bout getting a 32 as its one of the few cars in my price range that I don't totally mind and though its a 2 door, you can actually fit people in the back if its needed, well at least they looked big enough. And boot looks to be of a decent size though i'll have to check it all out in person sometime.

What is the fuel economy for 'normal' driving? Are they very clostly to upkeep etc. Also the engines, was the RB25DE ever released as a DET in them? I was looking at some site and a RB25DET was not on it as one of the 32's engines.

Any other stuff I should consider etc would be great.

There is a 4-door version of the R32. Unless you and the front seat passenger are very short, or the rear seat passengers are like twigs, there is no such thing as rear leg room in a R32.

The R32 was not available with a RB25DET, although that engine is a popular upgrade.

Fuel economy around town appears to be around the 400-450 km range. You'll obviously do better on the highway.

thx, also been looking around the forums. What is the price range for 3rd party insurance for a 32 gts-t? As the car isn't exatly expensive i'm not sure getting full comp is the way to go as at most i'll wack on a body kit and maybe some rims if I found a good deal for non craptacular ones.

Also clear indicators? any info on those. Not sure if I like them or not but will actually compare them to the orange ones sometime. I recall them being on the original release then they changed to orange, correct me if i'm wrong thats just from what I think I remember. Are the clear the same size etc as the orange and connect the same so a swap would be easy? Just wondering - gotta find me some pics of the clear ones to compare to orange.

thx guys cool little communitiy here. I'll be sure to hang around a fair bit if I end up getting a 32 so I can bug people with my McN00bness with cheese. :D

EDIT: Also no TCS? I don't think i've driven a car without it. Does it make it that different and can that be added or is it a physical thing not just something to do with the ecu.

Third party realy depends on which state you're in dude. Varies quite a bit. I wouldn't know to be perfectly honest, as all my cars have always been full comp (peace of mind)

Have clear indicators on mine, came from early 32GTR, as well with the headlights, and yeah they are a straight bolt-on, three screws. That's if you can find any... sort after.

TCS?? What's that? Is it that fun stopping device? TCS = no sideways, no sideways = no fun. I think it was an option on some models dude, but not exectly sure.

Welcome aboard.

"Traction Control System" lol. I've heard 32's can have some traction problems... i think people just need to learn how to drive them... lol. People drove cars with no TCS for many years before it came along and they did fine.

Would the gallery have some pics of clear indicators?

I would like full comp but if its gonna cost me like 2k which I hope not, but it could as im not over 25 etc and haven't been driving that long, though no accidents etc currently and won't be via my fault :) . I'm actually getting excited about a 32 got some things i'd like to do and it seems like a solid car.

Selling our other house soon so if it sells quickly and 32 looks good i'll endevour to find one in the next 2-3 months.

Type M? thats the all wheel steering one isn't it? Got a pic of this body kit that comes on it? I'm liking a do luck rear bumper atm but its like $700usd :) its just a bit of fibreglass... lol. 600-700 aye... a bit more then I was hoping but oh well... will weight up full comp vs that.

Hey again sry been out all weekend.

Yeah I want full comp but depending on the cost... I'm still living at home so maybe get the car under my dads name and me as a driver will make it a little cheaper? He has been with the same insurance for the last like 5 years so hopefully that will mean something.

hey guys i've seen some pics of the rear seats and is it the gtr only that has rear seats like this?

15464INB.JPG

and front seats like this?

15464INA2.JPG

I saw some dodgey cheap looking backseat think it was just the normal one... probs in the gtst etc. Just wondering if it was the GTR only or a 'luxury/sports' interior edition.

EDIT: does that rear seat fold down like in the s14's? lol edited the post above this one by accident.

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day
    • While I was waiting for the new parts to come in for the charge pipe and radiator I decided to do some turbo modification. The drive pressure (exhaust backpressure) was a lot higher that I thought it should be. For 32lbs of boost drive was 55lbs. The turbine housing is a 1.10AR and my turbo builder has suggested to go to a 1.25AR. To test if a larger AR would do anything to reduce drive pressure AND not spend any money I decided to hog out the divider in my current housing. I removed it from the inlet and the whole way through the housing.  After reassembly and testing it doesn't look like this modification did anything for reducing drive pressure or requiring more fuel (making more power). Oh well, it was worth a shot. We'll get some data at the track if it makes it past the 60ft. I also machined a $7 shift knob off Amazon to fit my Stillway shifter since I didn't like the Stillway shift knob. Next on the list was the radiator replacement and fabrication of a new intercooler tube that had no silicon coupler. No pictures of this - I was short on time each night after work to get this done and didn't stop to take pictures.  Next was to get the clutch disks out and replaced. Previously when installing the dogbox I had ordered a set of the same sintered iron disks I had been running because I switched to the 26-spline input shaft. I thought it was odd that they didn't have any markings or brand name on them like all my old disks had but installed them anyway. At the track I could not get the clutch to lock up using my normal strategies. After two track nights I reached out to the clutch manufacturer and ask their thoughts. They said they had to switch the material out because they were having trouble getting the original material and that this new material would not take to being slipped very well.  So out with the first set of 26-spline disks and in with the correct material 26-spline disks. While I had the trans out I added an inspection/service hole. I've wanted one of these for a while. Now I can have a look at things and change the front cover shimming when needed (clutch wear). I hustled and got the clutch change done in a few hours on a Saturday. Hopped in the car and drove home. On the way home I did a 1-3 pull. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd the core plug in the back of the cylinder head popped out and dumped all the coolant. Thankfully I was only 30 seconds from home and coasted it there. Datalog showed nothing unusual and 2.5psi of coolant pressure. That plug has been in there since 1992 but I guess it worked its way out. Pulled the trans AGAIN and replaced the plug, JB welded it in, and made a brace. Also deleted the head drain I had added in during the bearing issue fiasco.  I am currently changing my boost control plumbing to make it cleaner. After that is done I'll make another attempt at getting past the 60.
    • Are you 100% sure this isn't tune related?
    • 140-150 across the board. At this point hoping the grounding harness fixes it. My grounds are all tied to the chassis and none to the battery. For SR and KA that’s never been a problem for me but had a few other guys here and Reddit who told me RB really like a very solid ground setup tied to the battery so going to try that next, I’m stumped if that doesn’t do it. Never had a car have spark and fuel and not fire off before. Only thing I can think is the spark is intermittent/weak because of grounds nothing else really makes sense at this point
    • I am having close to the same issue. Can you help me with what wire you grounded to get your pump to trigger?
