Hey guys, finally got off my ass and test fitted my new rims and it seems i need a 10mm bolt on spacer on the front to clear the brakes.

Cant use slip on spacers as ive tried then the studs are too short poking out of the rims to tighten them up.

Another problem is that the smallest BOLT ON spacer ive seen is 25mm and thats way too much for my application (even 10mm is but what can i do)

Any help on where i can find 10mm spacers or get them fabricated?

Or any other ideas on what to do? Do i have to lengthen my studs?

Cheers

Kelvin

If theyre your rims, when are they goin backwards on the Lada?

Throw em on and post up some pics!!! :D

Then u can pump the guards and spray the car midnight purple, would be like u never sold your GTR!! (Actually then u would have to spray the rims bronze) KGB-GTR

Also need my rims powdercoated/painted white, who did that fantastic work on those rims?

Hey kelly.. I don't know what you mean by slide on and bolt on.. How can you bolt on a spacer????...

anyways my 5mm spacers just sit in between the rim and the hub.. and the nuts go on top of the rim as always...

speaking of rims, i discovered that my spacesaver was a 4 stud anyways.. so if i blow a tyre.. im f**ked.

D@MN i better go check my cheese grinder just incase its a 4 stud too!

umm how can isay, i too have the 5mm slip on ones actually on there at the moment.

The bolt on ones slip on the hub and 5 new threads poke out too, so u keep the same length of thread. When i use my 5mm slip on ones, the thread shortens by 5mm if i went any bigger the nutwould sit on the stud on a thread or 2.

(Hope that makes sense, if someone with better knowlede of this stuff can explain it better please do).

Thanks to Garage-13 for the pic, im sure it will show u better:

FATGTS-R is right though i dont think u can get 10mm bolt ons cos there wouldnt be enough meat on the spacer and the original thread would poke out the other end.

ahhh I understand... sort of.. how does the spacer connect to the original thread AND the wheel though?

I see the extra holes there pressumably for the original threads, but then how does it sit on the wheel correctly, unless your wheel has 10 holes?

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
