Hi huys for now we are going with a T88 kit which we purchased from doughboy, off this forum.

Again anyone how has delt with chris will know that he has to be one of the best peopl eto deal with when buying car parts.

Thanks again Chris.

anyway

we purchased a T88-33D kit with a Sard wastegate.

We are just getting the kit cleaned and, sandblasted and then ceramic coated.

I'll get some photos up once the kit is put back together all nice and clean.

I thinkthis will be a good test to see what the results are like compared to GT-SS turbos to the T88.

Cheers

good luck with it, just wondering y the extreme change from the most streetable turbos on the market to the most laggiest of the lot? more power i guess? :) surely u aint gonna be using the t88 to its potential so y not something b/b and abit smaller, or isnt lag an issue?

cheers

I'd say with their motor combination they'll probably hit the limit of the turbo, and it will be a good showcase for Hypertune's range of products. I suppose their goals might be a bit more realistic than, say hypothetically, stuffing a big dollar race quality motor into an 1800kg grocery getter? Don't Coles carparks have a 15km/h speed limit? :)

maybe cause i want something different, not just another gtr. i want to park it up with people not knowing its fast, which cant be said for any model skylines and people automatically think they are fast, hence more getting stolen, or damaged from jeleous morons.

the motor wont always be in the stagea anyway, as it come out of a vl calais b4, and 2wd is just a waste of time, and r32 gtrs r too old with things looking dated (interior wise) and i dont like 33's at all, and 34's r mad but way too pricey.

i wasnt personally having a dig at 600hp's setup, i only asked the question as to why he went sooo big that was all? its pretty lame that u get shit from just asking a simple question, isnt that the point of the forums?

are we all supposed to just say thats awesome, and never find out y he is actually choosing it?

:)

I agree with you cruiseliner... but you take the good with the bad. Although quite opinionated, this forum would have the most open minded (and knowledgable) people that i've seen on any forum... and thats why i think its one of the best. Bring up something like what BOV sounds the best and its a different story tho :)

Sorry for the slow reply.

the reason we went with the T88 is because we were maxing out the GT-SS we believe, and our engine was built for 800hp.

with the T88 onboard we will rev the engine up to 9500rpm were as now its only 8500rpm.

The 33d is the smallest so, with our engine combo it might not be as laggy as some think.

All we know is no one who has a engine the as the same spec as ours has gone from GT-SS's to a 33D turbo kit, I'm looking foward to seeing what the results are.

Yes there will be more lag but a GTR engine was designed to rev. With our SS turbos max power was at 7500rpm.

I'm sure the max power of the 33D is about 850-880ps.

We will be running up the car with the JUN plenum then with the Hypertune plenum and 97mm TB.

we may also be going to a 150mm intercooler as well.

Just wondering what other cars on this forum have a setup somewhere near the same as ours which has a T88 on it or something else big.

Cheers

I went for a spin with Dexter in his Maroon R32 with a 2.7ltr kit and t88-33d.....response was great...top end was awesome. Ben id say you have made a wise choice with the 33d mate...can't wait to view the results.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
